Year after year the Corolla has beat the Civic in reliability and testing. As a repair shop, Civic had way more visits than Corolla. Only edge Civic always had on Corolla was looks and gone are those days.

HeavenlyBang:

Civic has been better than the Corolla for generations.

I think the current Civic looks better than the current Corolla.
Civics are more welcome to tuning/modifications.
Civics have newer technology.
Civics generally drive better.

Apart from reliability, I don't think there's a single thing a Corolla does better than a Civic.

That isn't the Type R...

The new hatchback looks good, I agree.

So you agree with me.

Looks are subjective so I won't debate you on that. Historically Honda always used to edge or Toyota because of looks. It was certainly the only justification I lost a lot of Toyota sales on back in the day. People just liked the look of Honda better even though they agreed the Toyota was the smarter buy.

As far as driveability, Honda's focus was on speed. Toyota on comfort. For that class of car, I take comfort over speed.

People tune Hondas to improve them. No need with Toyota. For the tuning market, that's why there's Scion.

I posted somewhere this year's rankings and yet again, Toyota is 12 places ahead of Honda. The proof is the resale value. Toyotas retain their value better than Honda. All it takes is a few blue book comparisons.

Good Evening guys.
I really need answers as I’m torn between Mercedes Benz and Audi.
I need a sedan and I’ve narrowed my options to these two.

2007-2008 Audi A6 Vs 2008 C class

2007-2009 Audi Q7 Vs 2007-2009 ML

Which should I go for?
Lastly, I can see the A8 is an executive vehicle. I want to know if it’s wise getting the 2006-2009 version.

All cars are tokumbo with low and decent mileage.

If your budget is enough for a 2009 A8, you can probably afford a C Class. Get a 2011 C Class.

I don't really care about what you go for... But I want to inform you about after purchase ownership..... A. For the Audi be ready to dismantle a lot of parts just to replace a service item.... Yes I mean a lot of parts.... You will not believe that in a A4 B6 you'd have to remove the intake manifold, the alternator... injector nozzles just to access a simple part like the thermostat...and it's a 4 cylinder engine!!!

Now let's go to the clutch.... Have you ever heard of anything as heretic as a dual mass flywheel? It is simply an heretic design....

Where your Merc has a simple single temperature sensor for the engine... the Audi A4 B6 4 cylinder engine has about three and you keep wondering where the hell is that controlling the dash temperature is?

If you have deep pockets... like you don't need to check your account balances at all.... and an unparalleled desire for suffering....get the Audi please!! But ensure that you have a qualified Mech not roadside ones o... On standby even for little fixes...

Thanks for the detailed information. I was told that if I can get a foreign used in a good condition I don’t need to worry about these little fixes for at least 6months and I plan to use it for 1 year. They said both cars are troublesome but that’s what I want.

Apart from the mechanic, which is pretty settled for both brands, is the C class a better option than the A6 3.2 or should I go for the ML instead of the Q7?

Don't be deceived. I have a toks Audi A4 that I am scared to drive. Make your choice if you can live with it.

almera tino sluggish in acceleration

fuel economy both are pretty close

power you are better off with a V6 engine, power and 1.6-2.0L NA engine don't rhyme together.

reliability toyota corolla verso. when nissan start him cam and crank shaft sensor extra ordinary palaver the car dey taya newbie

maintenance in terms of cost nissan parts are cheap and durable, he dey enter porthole commotion without scratch.

parts you will easily get both parts though but that almera body parts cost sha. like bumper, side mirror, lamps etc.

safety depends [img]the corolla can be snatched at gun point. The almera can breakdown at ungodly locations. Though never heard of corolla verso been stollen.
I shall be buying a corolla 2001-2004 model in two weeks time, But this 'theft/gun point snatching matter 'really scare me to hell and back, what are the few ways to guard against this occurrence ? Or is it rather I change mind and look other way (like I heard you say civic does it this days )though I have used like 3camry cars and so far apart from fuel consumption, they haven't done me bad! Pls expamntiate. More on this oga engr .I AM REALLY GETTING LOST now OVER CORROLLA

There's a reason for Audi depreciation, mate. They're fine pieces of engineering but they can be ridiculous too. You can get a 2007 A4 for 1.7m but you won't get a 2007 C Class for under 2.3m.

Check iaa, buy a C Class.

I'm tired of hearing this question, tbh.

The Lexus ES is an upscale Camry. The ES will do everything better than a Camry.
Same between a Highlander and RX.
Honda Pilot and Acura MDX.
Rav4 and Lexus NX.
Pathfinder and Infiniti QX.

anyone you can afford out of the 2 is ok. they are both solid vehicles but the 2002-2009 has a more modern appeal than the 1996-2001 model year.

Good day everyone, first I wanna appreciate the great job you guys are doing over here.
Please am planning to buy my first car and will need your professional advices. I think am settling for Toks due to obvious factors around Naija used, but where I need help is which car can i get with a budget of btw 1.5 to 1.8M that will give me the best value for money? Honestly I love cars with lovely interior ( not plastic everywhere) and great dash board arrangement and facilities not forgetting great exterior look as well. Other factors to be considered are reliability, fuel economy and friendly maintenance cost and a luxury feel as well.

1998-2005 lexus IS (200 for economy 300 for speed)

1999 to 2008 honda civic EX 2 different generations but great interior finish. Ensure it is EX trim

2003 to 2009 toyota corolla XLE or corolla Altis if your budget can afford it though slim. Has a bit luxurious finish than ordinary corolla. The Altis is Asian corolla may be converted ensure it was done well.

2010-2012 nissan sentra SL trim. This vehicle has a CVT ensure you use the right CVT fluid not ATF

if your term luxury is leather seats and driving dynamics then a 4cylinder old cargo benz C W202 or benz E W210 should suffice. You can also do a 4cylinder BMW E46 199x to 2005

Buy the Mercedes Benz C klasse w203 or W202.

W202 will cost 950-1.2M toks grade A.
W203 is still within your budget too.
Both are great cars... And you can rest easy that no thieve will be targeting your car unlike the Corolla. Drive feel is far better than the Toyota.

The C350 is not a contender to the GS350. head to head the GS is a better and superior ride. Now the E350 upto 500/550 is a superior ride to the GS. Though the GS350 tops in fuel economy and reliability.

E350 >GS350 >C350

The GS is the all round superior ride among your choice, luxury, sportiness, handling can't say about build quality with its rattling dash board.

now the ES350 should be on par with the TL due to your choice but I would prefer a TL with SH-AWD now that one go relegate ES350 till thy Kingdom come.
