Shaw sat on the bench second half of last season watching Young.

Young sent everyone to the bench and even pocketed Salah, the only defender to do that the whole of Europe.

Shaw was relegated by Gaal, then Mourinho. Shaw was there, Young went to world cup. Young injured and England recalled Shaw, then he made one run where the media tag him world class. So Mourinho couldn't go against the media

The main issue I have with him is witch-hunting Shaw and blaming him for Sanchez’ struggles but Martial has come in there now and is not struggling like Sanchez.

Young is better going forward than Shaw but for the balance of the team I will prefer Young on he right and Shaw on the left.

Shaw does not have the acceleration he had before his injury. And Young as a former winger would usually have the advantage in attacking areas anyways.

Usually, when I return after I had taken a new position on a player that is not settled yet, I meet people lining up and leaning against that position. I think may be they do it for the fun of it.

If I say Pereira is a write off, it is most likely when I return next, people would be lining up to say Pereira is what we need. And before you know it, the whole house will be praising Pereira. Even those who never had an opinion will begin to join the majority.
