Joomie:

For my DD, her cord dropped on day 4 and there was nothing like the said bleeding.
For my DS now, his cord dropped in the early hours of day 4 as well. At three weeks i noticed dried blood on the inside of his body suit and crusted blood on the navel. I was scared but all the same took the flight to Google.
It's said to be Normal unless the blood is dripping.
What to do
Massage slightly with warm water at bath and clean with spirit (do not do this frequently so the spirit doesn't irritate the skin)
Avoid tight clothings around the area.
Make sure the diaper tips does poke the navel so do not place it high up.
No balm pleeeeaase. She will be fine.
The bleeding never occurred after that day though. Take care dear

I didnt experience the dry blood on my first DD too and her cord fell on day 12.

It is exactly how you described it. I also searched Google but I need first hand information on it from mamas here. Maybe it persisted because I normally lay her on her stomach alot to reduce colic and she rubs her tummy against the bed when she wriggles. I do back her too hope that is OK?

No serious bleeding just the dry crusty blood.

I still use hot water, lantern, spirit. I will stop the mentholated balm then.

Thanks Cappo.

sabi mamas in the house...
Gud pm and happy new Months n Sunday....
PROUDLY TEAM NOVEMBER (shaking my bumbum)

I want to ask ,this coconut water,is it the first thing DAT will be given to the baby before any food like breast milk, glucose water, and formula?
Or can it be given any time.
Abeg make una answer me..(so I go no if I go add coconut for my delivery bag sharp-sharp...)

I parked it as part of my hospital bag and instructed hubby how to go about it.

It is the first thing you will give baby before anything .My baby was given 1 teaspoon but I read somewhere it should be 3teaspoon after 30minutes you can give breast milk or whatever you want to give baby.

My baby still experience Colic I don't know if the coconut water worked or is because I started taking Soda Pepsi or coke from the day of naming (covers face) that is my weakness oh. Maybe she is reacting to Soda I take or is colic i don't know. I had to buy infacol still no much difference.

Note my first DD didn't experience much colic i didn't even give her coconut water or any drug for colic.

BS BS BS!

I went in to the hospital after seeing bloody show. I made sure I ate before coming in because I didn't know what was going to happen. They checked and said my amniotic fluid was low (AFI under 5) and since I was more than 37 weeks they'll have to induce me. We were transferred to labor and delivery and I was checked, 1cm dilated.

The doctor came in to talk about induction options and the balloon catheter thing was put in to get my cervix to dilate more. I was shaking because I really hate pain and it hurt so bad when they filled the balloon up. Two hours later, they came in with pitocin, started at 2 and increasing by 2 every 45 minutes. The contractions got more intense and I asked for pain relief and was given nubain which was a big mistake because it affected the baby's heart rate. The doctors came back in and I was advised to stop everything and go for a c section which I agreed to. This was around 8 hours into the induction. When the balloon was taken out I was only 2cm dilated after all the pain and suffering. They prepared me for surgery and gave me the spinal injection which had me shaking with fear but it wasn't so bad. About 15 minutes later I heard the cry of my baby. We stayed in the hospital for 3 days before getting discharged and I'm recovering well at home. I just thank God for everything. From the beginning of this pregnancy it's been God all the way.

Sabi mamas any tips on getting my breast milk to flow more? I'm drinking a lot of ogi, peppersoup and aju mbaise but it's still not flowing well.

[quote author=Rejoice04 post=72673226]Good day mamas and Happy Sunday.

Ma,please just keep cleaning with spirit religiously. And try to fold the diaper edges in such a way that it doesn't touch the navel. Please don't use mentholatum. The spirit will dry it up.

Dear father we thank you for the grace given to us to see the light of another week, we thank you for your protection and provision upon us and our families. Thank you Lord for the grace of conception, we appreciate you because we know we will all carry to term and we will no longer record losses. Dear Lord we commit ourselves unto your care, we ask that you strengthen us, we ask that your grace will be sufficient for us on our days of delivery. We declare that on our delivery days, father alive, mother and babies alive and our joy will be full in Jesus mighty name. We hand over every health personnel taking care of us we ask for wisdom, knowledge and understanding from above for them. We ask for our GTC sisters that you will surprise them, put smiles on their faces and cause people to rejoice with them. Every obstacle standing before their testimony we destroy them by your precious blood. Thank you Lord for hearing us in Jesus unfailing name we pray Amen

What does round ligament pain feel like?

I came to ask about round ligament pain Cos I was feeling some pains on my right and left sides(not the uterus). I searched online and saw that it’s normal. I actually thought it starts later in pregnancy. I’m 12weeks + so I wasn’t sure.
Anyway, I called my hospital and my doctor says it’s round ligament pain, totally normal and due to uterus stretching to accommodate the baby. I also spoke to a nurse who suggested yoga exercises and stretches to help.
Who has tried yoga for round ligament pain before?

Thank you all for all the best wishes , thank you very much, you all are the real MVP’s , I’m healing very well from the C section pains I didn’t know the pains were these excruciating cheesy .
I hope I can gather strength to climb up the stairs to see my omo sa ere waye tomorrow by Gods grace, because she over quick run come , nobody expected her this early ,
just be prepared for anything at all , please no matter the private hospital you’re registered in have a government hospital backup plan it’s very very very very important, I used to be a fan of private hospitals like lagoon , feetal clinic and the likes , when the matter hold me only general hospital could help a sister like me because they’re the only ones with enough hands trust me the stress will be worth it in the end regardless of the discomfort .
My baby came just when I was packed to fly abroad .
Always monitor your blood pressure , the stupid hospital I kept using was telling me blood pressure was under check until the thing struck like lightening and almost cost me my precious life . Please be very very vigilant of the situation, God bless us all and may we all reap the fruits of our labour
Hi teamie, Were you able to climb the stairs to see our little princess today? Trust you two are doing better today. Just checking on you both, quick recovery to you both.
