Nigerian youth really need to stand up and fight for their rights in their own planned and organised ways because even the NLC has been bought over by the government.
They have sold their conscience. Unionism has died in Nigeria.
Imagine minimum wage from 50k reduced to 30k Nigerians should be alert and ready for the worst because a lot of terror will soon be a common song in Nigeria.
Maybe when we start having bomb blast and other form of attacks unknown then a lot Nigerian movement will be restricted.

Rainmaker69:

No one wants to follow the money. No one is asking where the money will come from? Unless there is a monumental overhaul in the legislative and executive budgets, the money has to come out of the pockets of the private sector in personal and companies income taxes.
Where is the so-called organized labor when these civil servants don't report to work on time? Where is the NLC when civil servants demand bribes and inducements before they do their work. Have they justified their wages yet? Security, cleaners and domestic staff in these MDAs have become demi-gods who hide files and sell access to the highest bidder.
The civil service and the legislature are the biggest problems we have in this country. If they did their work, Nigeria would move forward.
We are in trouble.
Yeah, but it's perfectly okay for the elites that called themselves legislators to earn tens of millions of naira for pretty much doing nothing than to hang out in a chamber. However it deeply saddens you that a poor man is demanding he should be paid 30 thousand naira a month. Like you are sad that a human should be paid one thousand naira a day.

You see how sadistic you are.

This is not the protocol, after meeting, labour will meet and then release a statement.

No one man not even the President of NLC can unilaterally call off strike after a meeting

Let's hope this is not another propaganda by APC

All thanks to God because the people will be the ones to suffer it and the government will still go ahead to take from some other sector to pay the minimum wage.

What we need is a revolution but it seems easier said than done.

God has nothing to do with this

NLC leaders pockets greased ... back to status quo.
When they need more money, they'll disturb our peace again with very loud threats of indefinite abi inconclusive strike.
Thieves in both Govt and NLC.
Most of you are disappointed. At least you should have commended the govt for not allowing the strike. That is a responsible govt

The organized labour has suspended its planned strike. This is coming after marathon meetings with the Federal government.

NLC EXECUTIVE ARE THE MOST WELL ORGANIZED LEARNED FIRST CLASS CRIMINALS HIDDING UNDER THE UMBRELA OF NLC. NLC FOUGHT GEJ FOR FUEL SUBSIDY, BUT ON THEIR WATCH AND APPROVAL APC HIJACK IT TO N140 PER LITRE FROM N84. NNPC ON TOP OF OVER BLOWN SUBSIDY AND INFLATED CONTRACTS. NLC EXECUTIVES ARE SCAMS NEED HANGING BY THE NECK.

Sadistic? Why the unnecessary name-calling when instead you should be asking for clarification. Its either you don't understand the post or you didn't take out time to even read it to the end. I hope this is not your usual approach to life generally. That would be a truly sad thing.

In case you didn't understand, let me spell things out a little more clearly. My comment has economic and policy-related foundations.
1. Where will the money used to pay the new wage be sourced from considering that the Federal purse is already over-bloated and stretched?
2. What has organized labor done to address the negative impact the civil service has on national productivity from moonlighting, truancy and unprofessionalism?

In conclusion, I called out both the legislature and the civil service because both bodies represent the most opaque elements in government. Elected officials come and go, the civil servants know where the bodies are buried. Corruption would not exist without the explicit collaboration of the civil service.
The legislature... that's another issue for another day.
If these two bodies did their work, Nigeria would be better.
Cheers.
