I understand the some aspect of it. It's same with most online stores even with aliexpress..
.
In this case I would go for jumia even though there ones cheaper at aliexpress but that can be overlooked..
.
I wouldn't be against jumia if their prices are at ok levels..
.
I rather use jumia to buy my computer accessories but for phones? I already switched.. Lol

Can get it for way way lesser than this price.

If you know, you know.

You missed the question about exchange rates. How much your bank exchanges for a dollar.

Better to show price in dollar so as not to play yourself.

.
Did you see the offers given on aliexpress? Let me start
.
1. Aliexpress tells you the version while on jumia they didn't. They rarely do.
.
2. It gives options of color in aliexpress but in jumia, you must manually look for phones that has the choice color.
.
3. And you can add protective screen and case in aliexpress, on jumia you will have to order separately and pay another N600 + N600 for global.
.
And all these are plus and you get prodicts way cheaper with direct contact with sellers.
.
I'm a serious jumia fan but custom or not, aliexpress is still better..
.
I did buy my mi max 2 from jumia. It had issues. I'm yet to get a help from jumia or seller. They just told me they can't help. I'm just finding out that the mi max 2 came with a global developer rom disguised as global version. No wonder it stopped getting network signals after an update.
.
Why not try and look into aliexpress as I did and I'm still doing. You will be blown my friend, you will..
Very valid points. I know how much I lost then, because of the shady return policy from Jumia. An item will be rejected just because of a little sticker you removed from your item. When you get a refund, they don't refund shipping fee, so you are already at a loss. They sell already rejected (faulty) items to the next available customer (have experience this twice, happened to a friend last week, purchased a faulty LEeco le 2),and the list goes on. Truth is you can get good deals from Jumia sometimes, but they have a lot of work to do. Should I add that you are sure of the originality of items with Aliexpress compared to Jumia. When I see many electronic items like tvs, gas cookers, pressing irons, etc on Jumia, I just smh.

Chai dem dey try. I still saw my small meizu u10 I bought in 2016 today, phone still looks as good as new with no fault at all. How many tecno or infinix devices can stand the test of time and them go say "can't buy a phone without service centres or physical present in Nigeria". Their loss.

I mean the purchase you said you already made recently. What was the exchange rate that was used?

As in you bought it for $XX and NXXXXX was deducted from your account.

You CCing me to that comment doesn't take away the fact that someone said "Some....." and you rushed to invalidate it + I wasn't talking about just you.

It's like someone saying "some iPhones bend" and you rush to say it's total BS coz they stopped using 6000 series aluminum as if that takes away the fact that some iPhones actually bend.

No. It wasn't like this last year.

Consignments from China used to be the easiest to clear and customs hardly check thoroughly like they do now.

They now check thoroughly because of some contrabands intercepted few weeks ago and on seeing sweet contents (which they hitherto have missed) , checking becomes biz.

Chances that nipost shipped items of values will be charged (either legally or illegally) is high. Especially those landing in the mean time, at least. Privately shipped items are being moved since they know nahco agents can't be bamboozled with duties

Lucky me coz last week thursday was wen i received my RN5 @ PO. Initially i already told d seller to declare d pack as toy & under 50$. So immediately i opened d parcel d attendant was shocked, she said " no wonder custom no catch u" i jst smiled & told her dat's how i roll & i paid N500 for handle charge
