You can not apply for K3 from Nigeria again. Just K1 & K2(child of fiance(e)). But K3 is still available in other countries.

I just met my fiancée online a month ago. She intends to come to Nigeria next year February so we could take pictures together then immediately file for a k1 visa for me. My question is hope it won’t raise a red flag considering the time we met is small to proof it’s a genuine relationship?

could you share your experience in detailed from start to finish?

Sorry I just saw this ... I will post my transcript which I posted on visajourney site because I can’t remember all ‘cos it’s been a little while:

CO: I can see its your fianc who petitioned for you

CO: How long have you guys known each other?

CO: How does she gets to the US?

CO: How many times has she visited?

CO: How long is she staying this time around?

CO: What does she do?

CO: Whats her role at the place of work?

CO: Do you have a relative at the US?

CO: I see you’re from Nairaland (she smiles and I was so surprised how she figured out ... we then started talking about Nairaland gist and how she usually help people there - basically Nairaland gist for like 2 mins of the time. - It was the VO who usually responded to questions on immigrants section that was transferred few years ago)

CO: Ok. All your paper works are perfectly in order and your responses are as it contained in the papers therefore I am approving your visa.

CO: You will need to get me another co-sponsor and submit the docs along with your passport to this address on this sheet (handed me a white paper with an address) and then pick up your visa two weeks after you submit same.

She didnt check any of the evidences/documents I went with (I had just 7 pics with me lolz)

(I GOT ANOTHER SPONSOR 4 DAYS AFTER MY INTERVIEW AND SUBMITED MY PASSPORT THEREAFTER, MY VISA WAS PRINTED 7 DAYS LATER)

All thanks to God, my fiance for her support, all members of VJ and the amiable CO on Nairaland ... God bless y'all and wish everyone in this journey a very goodluck ...

a month and already a fiance? someone said you most have known each other for a minimum of two years with chat evidence to back it up. I don't know how true is it

Not true. You do not need to know your fiancé for 2 years.

A short period of knowing each other MAY be a red flag but it is not a requirement to know each other for any specified number of years.

True. A meeting within the last 2 years before filing is fine

She can file for you. No red flag at all. The only issue is that the consulate may want to question why she filed after one meeting. Be ready for that. Just take lots of pictures and visit many places.

Im having same issue bro and we agreed on K1 visa but im in senegal ....start backing up chats to your mails, calls history, and keep receipts if she had sent you money ...and when she visits take lot of pictures not just the two of you but with friends and most especially family members this will make it look so real...you might also want to engage her. The age difference should not be too much like 20 years plus (if u are in that category)
Like me i made a mistake by reducing my age now the difference between us is 18years im not gonna risk it so im dishing my naija passport for Gambia passport i have to fix this before April next year

No. As long as you can prove a genuine relationship, you are good to go. I have seen ridiculous ages and they were still granted visas. It depends on the evidence brought forward / presented

Congrats once more.

Firstly, remember that everyone's case is different so preparation is different as well.

Glory be to God in the Highest!!!!

I was approved today at the US consulate. First time I've heard congratulations after many trials. It was the easiest interview ever and God made it so. Prayers, hard work, preparing with interview questions and frontloading cleared the way for me.

After waiting for almost 4hrs, my number was called up by the white lady at window 17. As I approached her, I was already beaming with smiles and she smiled back. Swore the oath and began my interview.

Who is calling you?
How did you meet?
What course was she studying?
Did you guys date in Uni?
How did and do you communicate?
I see you have been to Dubai and UK together?
What is her profession?
Where does she live?

Congratulations, I will be approving your visa. Then she brought out the white paper and told me to follow the instructions to pick up my passport. Any questions? I said No, thanked her and walked away smiling and thanking God in my heart.

It was like a conversation or call/response. Within 3mins we were done. She didn't ask to check pictures, chats/calls, employment letter in fact I didn't show anything for the interview only pre interview. I wasn't even asked about my previous denials (b1/b2 four in number since 2015). It was stress-free and it was God at work.

Advice: Pray for confidence and calmness. Know your fiancé/husband very well. A lot of people fumbled today and we're asked to come back, some others fumbled and were still given visas, just be over prepared. Don't listen to touts outside

As long as you don't have any immigration issues and you are telling the truth, they won't waste your time. Somebody was banned from entering the US today, so be careful.

Smile, relax and go through the questions on Visa journey if you can and ask questions as well. All the best to those awaiting their approval (speak in faith) . I'm more than elated

Guys please I am in a fix and need guidance.

Went to obtain my Police Clearance Certificate yesterday and realised that I was given 3 months validity instead if 1 year which I had envisaged.

So my question is this: which validity is used by the Embassy and the POE guys? The 3 months stated on the certificate or the statutory 1 year?

I am in a fix of whether I should go and do another certificate. This is because if the guys at the POE are looking at the validity stated on the certificate then it means my Police Certificate won't be valid by the time I want to travel and I might be turned back. But if they follow the statutory 1 year then I'm fine.

Oh really?

Cos I saw a place it was written on the US Embassy site that "police report is valid for one year and must be valid by the time you travel"

So if it must be valid by the time I'm traveling, doesn't it mean that the guys at the POE will check it's validity? And if they do, will they look at 3 months or 1 year? I'm confused sad

Huh, Nigeria police report is a scam!

Why do those visa officers even request for it?

Bro, you don't need it for travel. You hand it over and the embassy before the interview. POE won't check for that because the embassy has looked through it already. Just prepare for your interview and you'd be fine.
