Please guys I need your urgent help!. I have a girlfriend (US citizen) in the states and she's visiting Nigeria for the first time for7 days. This is actually our first meeting and we intend to get her engaged. After that she returns to file for the fiance visa. Please do you think I might have a hard time at the embassy regarding we haven't had so much FaceTime together? Please guys advice me.
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by Drenimarcus(m): 3:27pm On Jan 13, 2019
It depends, stuffs like massive age difference, difference in religion are red flags the embassy looks for. For me, 7 days is too short, ensure enough FaceTime and take lots of pictures with your friends and family if possible. What the embassy looks for is a bonafide relationship. All the best and good luck
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by mekusa10: 8:18pm On Jan 13, 2019
Thanks alot. I'm 28 and she 27. Same religion. Problem is for now that's how long she can stay. Please you know anyone that has successfully got the k-1visa on a short visit between the partners involved?
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by Drenimarcus(m): 9:51pm On Jan 13, 2019
Like I said, the embassy checks or looks for red flags in every relationship. From my experience, she should spend more time or come back again on a second visit to strengthen your case. Think about it, you met someone for 7 days and you get enagaged and file. My advice is, she should wait before filing, come back for a second visit or file and come back for a second visit. Visit visajourney.com, you will get more info
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by mekusa10: 11:55pm On Jan 13, 2019
Drenimarcus:Okay. I'll talk to her and see how it goes. Thank you. If you don't mind to talk privately and share with me more about your experience? I could really need it.

Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by select500: 4:02pm On Jan 14, 2019
For her to stay for seven days is not too bad.
How long have you guys been communicating before now? You need to save all those Chat Logs and FaceTime you have both done.
There some people that got their Fiancee Visa with just one visit. Some cannot visit more than 1 time due to work and school schedules. But as long as your relationship is genuine, you should be good to go.
Also, remember not to do any official ceremony when she visits, if you are going to file for the K-1 Visa.

You are right. No official ceremony and no matching of outfits too.

select500:We did about 2 months in a dating app which I have deleted beacause I didn't see this day coming. Now on Facebook and we have been here for about 9 months
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by select500: 3:11am On Jan 16, 2019
In addition to Facebook, you can also communicate via WhatsApp ( both texts and calls) and also call via your normal phone numbers, once in a while.
Then when you meet physically, take pictures together at different locations and keep all receipts from travels(boarding pass), restaurants and lodging.

I had extra copies for my passport data page, appointment letter but not police report or bank payment. Sorry for the late reply. Had your interview yet?
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by djfrancis: 2:20pm On Jan 16, 2019
No, it is not compulsory to be formal. Just dress smart.
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by djfrancis: 2:23pm On Jan 16, 2019
Yes, my interview was 7am. I wasn’t done till around 12 noon. My interview lasted like 5 minutes tho. But there were other immigrant applicants there as well. Just prepare to wait.

Hello legitbachelor, sharpman1, djfrancis and all
Please we received this email below from NVC since 26th Dec,2018 and have not heard from Lagos embassy since then.
1. What step should I take?
2. Do i need to wait until I register on their portal?
3. Do i need to send an email to Lagos embassy as this k1 processing expiry Feb this year (ad stated in the approval letter we received ).
Please what should I do, I need advise.
The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.
Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview.
Please keep the following information for your records:
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by nextlevel2222: 6:30pm On Jan 16, 2019
abekeade1:The petitioner will write to US embassy in Lagos if they have received file from NVC, they will reply you. email: LagosIV@state.gov
The email must have the beneficiary name
Date of birth
And date of birth
And you need to write them as soon as possible if they have received your file because you need to schedule your appointment before your expiring date and appointment days don't open always on their dashboard. My own transfer from NVC only takes 1week.

@ nextlevel2222, djfrancis, legitb and all please I need all your advise right now as I am scared time is running out on me because of getting an interview date especially.
Does that means I can go and fill my DS 160 now?
Which site do i register my profile and how do I go about it please?
I was thinking I will have to pay before picking an interview date ?
Do I register my profile first or fill the form firat?
Lots is going on my mind, please help me.
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by nextlevel2222: 7:37am On Jan 17, 2019
Let your petitioner write to the embassy first, they will reply you as soon as possible.
Dnt be scared validity date can still be extended with reasons.
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by LegitBachelor: 8:59am On Jan 17, 2019
abekeade1:You can fill the DS-160 form now but don't submit yet. Also you can go to gtbank and pay for the K1 Visa and hold on to the receipt. You can also create a profile at ustraveldocs.com/ng. Make sure you use a valid email address.
Once the Embassy confirms receipt of your casefile, you can then quickly submit your form and then fill in your receipt number and other K1application details on your ustraveldoc profile.
The next step is to schedule an appointment. If you can't, no cause for alarm. Just keep checking your profile page until dates pop up.
PS: Just as nextlevel2222 adviced, you guys should email the embassy requesting to confirm if they've received your casefile. It takes 5 to 6 days for them to respond. If you guys don't email them, you might not know on time when you can proceed.
