Yes UK is monolithic because they all have so many things in common, you cannot compare it to places like America where it is a combination of different nationals. Go and read the history of UK and US.

England never ruled over Scotland throughout history.
Re: . by somalianprince: 4:59pm On Nov 10, 2018
Does it matter who ruled who? What is important is that they all have a lot in common compare to US, which ultimately makes it a monolithic state. tongue

Nwanne, we know these things , and thats why we must stay on this issue to drill it into every Anambra man and woman. Some Anambra people have strayed but we will correct that problem. We will keep hammering on it till the news go around. We will not relent in our resolve to completely reform the mentality of of the Anambra man. I have spoken to Chino before and with time we will move our clique out of Nairaland and proceed to build a strong organization that will seize power in Anambra and entrench our ideology.

And , yes , those names, are truly Igala. Even the Delta Igbos they are crawling all over the places begging to accept Igbo identity has Igala ,too.
Another isolationist agenda. Please implement as soon as possible and spare humanity the burden of your ignorance

You are the one still crying all over the place out of your inferiority complex. Why are you so worried over what someone wants for himself, it is just one thing-- insecurity and inferiority complex. cheesy

A dialect with different dialects Fraud!
Go school, you no grew.
Do you realize that in England today the people speak English but with different dialects because of their geography, does that make the English people different from each other, same thing can be seen in Germany, France, Japan and several other countries.
What you seem not to understand is that a group of people have decided to develop a common Omambala identity and you are so pained.

England and Scotland are different peoples throughout history. They united (plus wales and northern ireland) to form UK (United Kingdom) but unity is not uniformity.

This is a welcome development, slow but steady the information will circulate totally, we are already working on NEO CONSCIOUSNESS ON FACEBOOK. It will happen like magic the day we shall call for ANAMBREXIT.

That is equivalent to igbo nation with different dialects. The dialects in anambra state is fragmented and does not fall into large grouping, hence the lame attempt to claim "anambra dialect".

Visit your country home this Christmas and ask some older relatives, you could be surprised you even have some Bini and/or Igala roots along the line.
I was discussing with a colleague some months back who jocularly calls me "nwa Kogi" because I told him about my Igala root, he went for a burial in his village and made enquiries but guess what..... he as well has some Igala connection too.
Guess again where he's from? Udi Enugu state and that was when the "nwa Kogi" stopped after he learnt about his ancestry.
You guys should realize that there were several migrations in the past and peoples intermarried as well.
The Igbo nation wasn't static, I won't be surprised if some Abriba, Ohafia people have some Efik or Ibibio connection as well.

Abia North which comprises Ohafia, Arochukwu, Isukwauto (Abia) and Ebonyi South with Edda, Afikpo, Ohaozara (Ebonyi) all share same heritage and its well documented. Their history is intertwined with Ibibio and Efik culture and history.

The main difference is between the Abia/Ebonyi connection with Ibibio and Anambra/Anioma connection with Igala is that Ibibio and Efik generally are receptive and friendly towards Igbo, seeing them as their kin whereas Igala and Benin are hostile and hate Igbo, seeing them as a competition and a problem to be dealt with

Be careful in order not to be pulled into attacking your Anambra/Omanbala brothers. Dont play into their hands. All Anambra groups are inter related. Onicha has Nri, Okodu(Abatete, Umuoji and Nkpor) has Nri, Awka has Nri, Oraifite has Nri, Oyi has Nri, Aguleri has Nri. Obosi is related to Ojoto, Dunukofia with exception of one or two towns are related by blood and according earliest recorded history of Nnewi they have Nri.

Dont let a foreigner tell your story, be A MAN!

Dude as anambra person...I know that Anambra towns are very related and almost the same dialect that I know for sure and with same life philosophy so what the big deal

By the time Chinua Achebe wrote TFA in 1958, Enugu state people were more or less monkeys that could not read nor write.

It is this historically shared common heritage that creates a monolithic entity not artificial boundaries created by military Fiat. Everybody loves their states and are united within the state. But the monolithic state some are claiming is pure fraud. Thank for the historical insight from that axis. That is what the thread should be all about
Re: . by IkpuMmadu: 5:19pm On Nov 10, 2018
Yyeske:
A big shame indeed.
I think the problem here from my observation is that most people especially Igbos really don't ask relevant questions from their elderly relatives, all they do is visit the village, catch some fun, see other relatives from other places and they leave for their bases.
Do you know that I've met people with surnames like Onoja, Attah etc who are from Anambra, everyone should know that those two names I mentioned are pure Igala names with no meaning in the Igbo language and some people here expect us not to acknowledge them and worse of all we should deny any link with them.
I am very proud of my Nri root and Igala as well, proudly Omambala, proudly Igbo.

The problem with Africans is that they lean on past so much that it makes them stupid

The British some came from Germany , some from Norse today they are British ..they don't go claiming past

The Australian came from England but today he is proudly Aussie

Even if the onoja and all what not came from Jupiter or Mars the bottom line is they are igbo today

Grow up dude
