What is a Good News? Let me give you two scenario.

A man tells you he wants to give you a skyscraper in Eko Atlantic City. He says all you have to do is accept the keys from him and he will take you to where the finished skyscraper is. Isn't that Good news?

A man says he wants to give you a skyscraper in Eko Atlantic City. But he says you will have to do the WORK of building it from foundation to the last floor all by yourself without help. That is you will mix the cement, mould the blocks, bend the irons and carry out all the manual labour yourself.

Which of the two scenario sounds like Good News?

You see, Good news never has any blemish or a tiny fraction of sadness. It is purely good news that gladdens the heart.

Today, preachers lie about what salvation truly is. They tell you that Jesus died for your sins and that you have to believe in Jesus to prevent you from going to hell fire. They are right in that regard, but they throw in a sad news into the good news thereby corrupting it.

They tell you that once you accept Jesus, all your previous sins are forgiven. But henceforth, every sin you commit will be upon you and can prevent you from having eternal life thereby subjecting you to damnation in hell fire. They basically say when you accept Jesus Christ, you get salvation and eternal life. But when you commit a little sin, you lose the eternal life and your salvation. So in order to avoid that, you have to live a holy and righteous life. This is false and unscriptural.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The above verse doesn't say once you sin, the everlasting life you have as a result of belief in Jesus will be lost. It simply says belief in Jesus has given you everlasting life, no one can make you lose it, not even yourself. If you can lose the eternal life, which is life never ending, then it wasn't eternal after all.

These false preachers are saying that you have to live a righteous life to earn salvation, whereas salvation is a free gift God gave into us. We did nothing to deserve it. It is by Grace.

Ephesians 2:8
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If salvation is by works, then many people will boast when they get to heaven. They will say things like "I never sinned, I paid my tithes, I gave to the poor, I didn't fornicate etc, that's why God allowed me into heaven". Jesus spoke of such people.

Mathew 7:21

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

You see, the people in verse 22 we're trusting in their works to save them. That's why they reeled out all the WORKS they've done with the hope that it is what will grant them eternal life. They were basically depending on themselves.

They will be two kinds of Christians on judgment day. The one who will say the reason why he deserves eternal life is because he was a good Christian who did all sorts of Works, and the one who will say the only reason he deserves eternal life is because he believed in Jesus who died to pay for it.

The first set of people are like those in verse 22. Jesus will kick them out because they never acknowledged him in their statement. They gave no regard to his work on the cross. It shows they were never saved. That's why Jesus told them in verse 23 "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity". They did all the good works but still they never got eternal life because they didn't put their hope in Jesus. They were simply boasting forgetting that we owe it all to Jesus.

Imaging you want your friend to use his vehicle to take you to Badagry and he says you will have to fuel it, which you did. Won't you feel somehow when you get to your destination and he starts telling people that you won't have made it there if not for his vehicle? I believe you will quickly remind him that you paid for the fuel that powered his vehicle. The both of you will have to share the glory because you both worked.

Concerning eternity, there's nothing you did. You depending on works means you want to share in God's glory. That's why your kind will boast on judgement day that you did so so and so. Christ did it all on the cross. All we have to do now is have faith in his finished work on the cross which makes us righteous and forever deserving of eternal life.

If you are still trusting in your works to save you from damnation, then it means you are rejecting what Jesus did on the cross. He paid for our eternity, but you feel you don't need his effort, you want to pay it yourself. Your effort can never be enough. It will only earn you damnation. This is all because you think sin is what sends people to hell.

Do you know that sin is not what sends people to hell? What sends people to hell is rejection of or lack of believe in Jesus Christ.

John 3:18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

If you believe in Jesus, you already have everlasting life

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Once you believe in Jesus Christ, you have eternal life and nothing can make you lose it, not even yourself. Those who trust on their works don't believe such, that's why they are trusting in themselves for salvation. That's why they are not saved and not a sheep of Jesus.

John 10:26

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

Verse 28 says Jesus gives his sheep eternal life and they shall never perish. He even said no one can pluck them out of his father's hand. This means you can't lose your salvation. Nothing you do will ever make you lose your salvation. You are totally safe in God's hands. Today's preachers have call Jesus a liar when they say you can lose your salvation. No one can pluck you out Jesus hand.

But wait, what if you sin? You will get punished here on Earth, but that sin, no matter how terrible it is, can never make you lose your eternal life.

So once I believe and behave anyhow I want heaven is my home. You should stop deceiving people. Even the Bible says no unclean thing shall enter into heaven and we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound God forbid

As a christian we must note that our enemy is not that neigbour or co worker that is fond of troubling us. The devil is the enemy that has been keeping us from seeing

Sorry Chioma, you got it all wrong.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But God gave us his son so that we will be made righteous.

2 Corinthians 5:21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

As long as you are still in the flesh, you will sin. But your spirit is saved. Your flesh will be destroyed but eternity is for your spirit. By the way, you have backed your stance with no Bible verse. You only quoted Philippians 2:12

Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

You quoted the verse without proper understanding of what it's saying. You probably think it is saying that you should work to save yourself. Then what's the need for Jesus dieing on the cross?

The verse is simply saying that we should show out that which God put inside of us. God has saved us already, He now wants us to show fruits of our salvation. Those fruits are what others will see that will make them change and believe in Jesus as well.

Let me give you one example. When you go to the gym, what do you say you are doing? You say you are working out. You already have hips and curves which are what God deposited in you. But to make them more pronounced, you go to the gym to work them out. When your friends see your new look, they marvel and ask how you did it. That's when you tell them about working out at the gym. They get motivated to be like you, so they go to the gym too.

Same thing with a very wicked man whom everyone avoids because he is toxic. All of a sudden, he becomes kind and loving to a very strong degree. Don't you think people will wonder about the sudden change? He will tell them Jesus changed him and out a good heart in him, that is why he is showing kindness unlike before. This can make many to draw near to Christ.

Now the passage in Philippians which you quoted, had it been you read the next verse, you would have understood better. The next verse will make you understand what I've been saying since.

Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

God worked salvation in you and wants you to do his good pleasure. That's why he said you should work out that salvation so that people will through that get saved as well.

You also asked if we should continue in sin so that grace may abound. Yes, Grace abounds even more when there is sin.

Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Matthew 7:13-15 Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it. Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves.

The @op is a false teacher...

The scripture told us of his like.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.

The agenda is to kill God / heaven consciousness in man. In preparation for the reign of the antichrist.

When you believe in jesus, the work will show in your everyday lives. Faith in jesus must produce works of salvation in our daily lives. You cant just accept jesus and be living with a dead conciousness of sin, that is crucifying him the second time. The finished work of christ gives us the grace to work above this trials and temptation of sin. Anyone that wallows in sin after accepting christ has full accomodation in HELL

The first Bible passage you quoted actually proves my stance. How many preachers teach what I taught in the OP and how many people believe it? Just a very few

How many teachers teach the opposite of what I taught and how many people believe in their teaching? Majority.

That shows you that the majority are on the broad way which leads to destruction, while the few who believe what I taught which is biblical are on the narrow way that leads to life.

Please read your Bible very well you can tell Jesus wasn’t crucified.. instead it was made to appear to them
He was ..

Let us expose the following facts:

Jesus made it clear that crucifixion was not his purpose (Matt. 9:13, 12:7, Mark 1:38, Luke 4:43, 19:10)

The apostles did not believe Jesus rose from the dead (Matt. 28:17, Mark 16:14, Luke 24:11).

The apostles did not expect Jesus to rise from the dead (Matt. 16:22, Mark 9:30-32)

Jesus never foretold his crucifixion (Psalms 20:6, 18:50, Matt. 26:39)

Jesus did not want to die, he was unwilling (Mark 14:26, Luke 22:42-43)

God promised to save the Messiah (1 Chron.16:22, 2Chron. 6:42, Psalms 28:cool

Christians believe the exact opposite of the Bible (Proverbs 21:18)

The Bible rejects human sacrifice (Deu. 12:31, 2 Kings 17:17)

Let me tell you about the story of Cornelius in the Bible. He was a devout man who feared God and did many good things, yet he wasn't saved. God had to send Peter to go and save him which became evident after he received the Holy Spirit. Had it been Cornelius died before Peter showed up, he would have ended up in hell fire. Read the story in Acts chapter 10.

Same thing with Muslims, Jews and others. If you like do all the good in this world, as long as you haven't bee. saved by Jesus, you are going to hell because salvation is not of works by by grace through faith in Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It's the same thing as saying Bill Gates will make heaven because of his charitable deeds. If you believe that, then it means he can buy his way into heaven. But Jesus Christ said it will be difficult for a rich man to make heaven.

If you don't believe in Jesus in the appropriate way, then you are doomed.

A part you didn't get right my friend. your last statement. let me categorically state that Christ has paid for our sins and ALSO we will not get any punishment for whatever sin we commit. God will be unjust to seek further punishment for a sin Christ has been punished for already. Let us not be deceived into believing the lies of the enemy. God bless you.

You didn't understand that part. Yes, Christ has paid for our sins, this means sin cannot prevent us from eternity with him.

But when we sin here on Earth, our loving father can decide to punish us for it here on Earth. That is His way of correcting those He loves. If you steal, you might get caught and sent to jail. Stealing is a sin, going to jail for it is facing the punishment for the sin. But whether you face it or not, such sin cannot make you lose your salvation.

Do you get it now?
