She won't get points for a Canadian PR spouse. I guess his best bet would be sponsorship since she would likely not have an MSc to support her NYSC experience with. I even suspect that draws might go higher then than they are now.

It's either they tie the knot now and have her added or just wait and do sponsorship.

Cc: Venorite

Even under the relative/sibling section? If so, its spouse sponsorship then.

I kind of agree with you on the draws going slightly higher next year.

Wow this is so explanatory, by trv, you mean? Lol at the lord will strengthen us to skype properly.

This particular issue has given me sleepless night. So let’s see we get married in a court, have our certificate, all she needs to bring to the table is just IELTS?

Wow, will need to discuss this with her. I hate long distance, especially when married. I have always fought against it, now looks like I will be towing that part. I will bring her to this thread so she can read and decide.

Marriage for women is a big deal, especially when they are very young
Ifeoma77:

Oga you need to spend time reading up.
The way I see it, you have two options;

1. Marry her while you're processing your application. If you do the registry/wedding and then raise CSE to inform IRCC of your marriage, it won't affect your points (btw spouse work experience does not affect CRS. Since she's still in school, the only thing she can contribute is IELTS scores. No post-secondary qualification to access for ECA).
After you've gotten the COPR, you can both go and land and then she comes back to finish school. She has up to 3 years to stay in Naija and can still meet PR renewal conditions. Meanwhile as a PR, she can zoom in and out of Canada during school vacations - to visit you.

2. Complete your application and go and land. Then come back and marry her. THEN you can sponsor her.
DO NOT do the wedding before landing and not notify IRCC.
You should know that simply because you are a PR and married doesn't mean you automatically get to sponsor her. You must meet the earning requirement and show that your income is capable of supporting your wife. This would probably mean getting a good job, working for considerable time, filing taxes etc.
Then the sponsorship process itself will take over a year and will require you to travel back to Nigeria - more than once.
In the meantime, you might consider getting a TRV for her so she can visit (or you can do the visiting).
Or there can be no visiting at all, the Lord will strengthen you both and give you the grace to Skype properly gringrin

The choice is yours

If you get married after submitting your application, she doesn't need to bring even IELTS to any table. Your CRS score won't be affected. She just needs to submit herself for medicals, PCC and then you add her international passport, photos and make up your POF to accommodate her. You can even add the POF before hand to cover both of you. This thing is not as hard as you are thinking it. In my humble opinion, doing a 'simple' court wedding post AOR is what I'd suggest. You really have nothing much to lose by adding her now and saving yourself the stress of sponsorship later. A couple I know are still waiting a year and a half for the wife to be eligible to sponsor her husband cos the wife had not been able to get a good job that will allow meet the financial requirements for sponsorship. The husband still sends her upkeep allowance from Nigeria here. She only recently got a good job and is hoping to start the process now after almost 2 years of landing. On top the stress, belle come enter the equation as a result of several 'conjugal visits'. cheesy
My brother, Canada is cold o. Skype alone cannot keep you warm. You need the regular warming only your iyawo can provide. How many times do you want to come to Nigeria to come and collect heat from her. She can finish with all her plans in Nigeria and still have the added benefits of being a PR.
In the end, it's yours and hers to decide. Do what you must.
Enuf said.

NB: Bia, Ifeoma77 thank you for transferring your Apollo to me. I got it by just reading your post the other day.

Thing is they won't be considered as relatives in that instance, they'll be spouses. Then, the question relating to having a Canadian spouse being a citizen or PR automatically allots points as that of a single applicant once the answer is yes

If you have spare funds, do both. Remark and put in for the next available exams.

Best of Luck.

But note that for plab, they require your latest IELTS results. So if you apply for a remark and book for another, if the remark comes out better than the latest attempt, you wont be able to use the remark. So think about it well. Either you wait for the remark and write another or write another and forget about the remark

If you apply for remark, you submit your TRF and is locked,in other words, you can't use it till the remark is done then another TRF will be reissued if there is an upgrade in any of the modules.
