Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has mentioned that even though it is true the current administration promised change to Nigerians, it didn't mention it will come within 4 years.

Fashola said this at the inauguration of President Buhari’s 2019 campaign in Ikeja, Lagos State on Tuesday November 20th.

“In 2014, we said we would change Nigeria but we did not say we will do it in four years. This election therefore is a choice between going forward to the next level or backward because the work has already begun.

Since I became a minister, the president has never interfered in what I do. He has never lobbied me for contract and I can assure you that it is like that with other ministers.

The oil revenue the former government took advantage of, what did they use it for?” he asked

Speaking further, Fashola took a swipe at the main opposition party, PDP. According to him, the opposition would not have lost the election in 2015 if they had performed very well.

“We have watched what happened in 16 years of nothing to show. Some people are trying to rewrite history now. You don’t sack a good employee. If they are living in delusion and say it was good governance, why did they lose the job? In 2017, the budget on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was cut from N30 billion to N10 billion. You know who was presiding (then).

“Buhari has inaugurated an infrastructure development fund to ensure that Lagos-Ibadan, Second Niger Bridge and Abuja to Kano Road would never suffer funding problem again. Just yesterday, the two contractors on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway got a total of N15 billion to continue the work. The same thing is true of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road. That road, for 16 years, was nothing to write about.”

I have nothing against this administration because am not a politician.

I travelled to Lagos state every week & I can tell you more about their power supply.

don't mention osun state because their power supply is OK many years ago especially Oshogbo
I have been living in Lagos for the past 21 years so do you know the kind of change I have witnessed this period?

Fashola shall say this in 2023 if we give APC another four years.

Fashola, you are one man that controls three huge and most important departments - electricity supply, house and roads - in the history of Nigeria.
President Buhari appointed Fashola to fail by assigning Fashola all the three departments.
Yes given because hes trusted not to syphoon funds..Hes much respected than fraudlent atiku... If he was the president he'll have done better

When looking for definition of failure, just look out for Fasola. He is failure personified. All mouth, no show. A man always ready to criticize others but not wanting to be scrutinized himself. Overhyped failure.

how old are you? what part of Lagos do you lives? I have been visiting Lagos since 1991 & I once lived there. I can tell you some areas that do have stable electricity supply for more than 15years ago.
Talking about my visiting Lagos since 1991 is not a matter of gainsaying but 100% fact
As I type here, am running on generating set and I know how much I spent on fuel on daily basis so please talk another thing

When someone told me that madness runs in the blood of #APC chieftains, I thought it was a lie untill I met Fashola. Pls Psychiatric doctors should chain this man before he starts picking things from the wastes bins on the streets of Abuja and Lagos.
Same Fashola that said that it would take a serious govt not more than six months to fix power. Hmmm

The OBJs ruled for 8-yrs but succeeded only in wasting $16billion dollars as father xmas to NEPA while keeping Nigeria in darkness..

The GEJs ruled for 7-yrs but succeeded only in sharing $2.1billion dollars armys money to fight bokoharam...thereby creating a legacy of the

highest treasury looting govt ever in Nigeria...only a fool will think that the damage of 16-yrs would be fixed in 4-yrs..

But Fasola, we expected a better performance from your ministry...you are down below average in the 3-ministry under your watch!
At least you arent among the fools here.. wink It obvious we have lots of kids getting likes on the frontpage after commenting trash..

I used to have so much respect for this man when he was the governor of Lagos. Sadly he seems to be loosing It by his moronic statements.
Let him tell us what has changed since the last elections. Did poverty reduce? Has the boko haram killings stopped? Are we more united than we were in 2015? or is it the much talked about corruption that reduced? Just nothing to show for all these years if not an increase in all these anomalies I listed.
Mr fashola should fear his God if at all he has any.

No be only change

Re: We Promised Change To Nigerians But Not In 4 Years - Fashola Says by Fronesis: 8:51pm On Nov 21, 2018
But i wonder why people are so gullible in this country. Anyone that promises you transformation of economy within 4 years has deceived you. I dont belong to any party and i'm not affected by what is going on in this country. Consult those that are specialists in economy management, it's impossible to fix the economy in 4 years they will tell you. You have many factors that are against you. If you choose to focus on one sector another one will suffer. Again, i can see the gullible Nigerians listening to another liar promising them different appetizing strategies to reinvigorate the economy. They are all lies i tell you guys. See, until we start addressing the main issues killing this country nothing we happen. I weep for the youths of this country wasting their destinies. How can you say you are paying a public office holder 50 million per month. Senators collecting staggering salaries and allowances and you expect thieves not to die for such positions. Note that Nigeria will not move anywhere if you have the wrong mindsets in power. If you have thieves, hooligans, rough and touts as your leaders. You need people that are ready to serve. People that want to make a name not a living. You need visionary leaders that would put structures that will outlive them in place but we still support people that kept us in slavery. I wonder if people are thinking especially the youths. Someone that is not able to boast of any viable business before coming to power now has a mulitibillion Naira building in his state and no one asks how. Well, everything about life is choice. No matter how you pray, if you dont CHOOSE to receive and take the right steps, you prayer is in vain. May God help us all. Amen.

Who will give you electricity when you do not want to pay?Nigeria has the lowest electricity tariffs in West Africa, shameless people, you think electricity is cheap?,why didn’t shell and general electricity buy the infrastructures when pdp sold it to quacks?

Same goes for gasoline,Nigeria has the cheapest petrol in west Africa, who will invest their money in the oil and gas sector to build refineries when the people don’t want to pay the rates demanded by the markets? They want the government to subsidize everything for them?what this present government has been able to do is amazing, nothing good comes easy,Blackman not ready to sacrifice, wants to eat and piss in the same place.
