recently joined the xiaomi family myself. bought redmi 5 plus 4g/64gb global rom at 53k from aliexpress in october. i have to say the phone is nice and im really enjoying it though i still prefer amigo ui to it. sound also is above average but not so sweet. all in all the xiaomi phone is worth it

I have experienced this problem in the past before but only very briefly. Try restarting Google maps or turn mobile data off and on.

If that doesn't help, you can try any of these suggestions (disclaimer: tips were copied from

Go to settings>power manager>battery saver, disable power saving mode.
Settings>Date & Time , switch between time zones.
Select automatic time zone.
Settings>location>switch between modes.
Select high accuracy mode.
Settings>account>select auto sync data.
Go to settings>scroll down to data usage and tap on this.
Look at the top of screen.
Tap on the name of the cellular data provider.
below this switch on mobile data.
Tap on the three dot menu at top right.
"Uncheck" in " restrict app background data or
Deselect in " restrict app background data ".
Scroll down to the google apps, select app.
Tap on the selected app.
See below the notification" restrict app background data ".
Next to this " uncheck " in the box or
Select the switch off.
Go to settings >storage>cached data>clear cached data.
Go to settings>storage>apps>settings>clear data.
Go to settings>storage>apps> google play store>clear data.
Go to settings>storage>apps> download manager>clear data.
Go to home screen select"google settings" app>tap on this>three dot menu.
Tap on the button" clear app data".
Settings>storage>apps> google play services>uninstall updates.
Open Google drive or inbox, this prompts to update google play services.
Finishing this.
Uninstall updates in google map.
Reinstall updates.
Reboot /restart device.
Still problem persists.

Thanks bruh. I know about that post from an India guy or so ...but e nor work o...like map decides when to function. I'm sure suspecting this Xiaomi thing of suppressing Google products

Just have a few inquiries:
1. Which of the shippers on here did you later use?
2. Is the sim slot hybrid or it has the dedicated slot for sd as claimed?
3. How is the ZUI like in person?

It's their marketing that would determine whether people buy it.

1 Lstar4real, he's legit got items within the 10 days he promised
2. Sim is hybrid, but i found out b4 buyin gsmarena got ds wrong
3. Zui, to me is just like a clone of miui but lighter than miui. It's good also. It has more google support than miui, features like smart lock is integrated into the os despite being a Chinese rom. All i needed was to just download play store from their app store. Most of the bundled Chinese apps are easily removable

pple dey rush d phone 4 china, no major global launch yet, hopefully they launch it in india soon. Bezels are truly small and its lighter than rn5, even camera doesn't protrude as it does on rn5.
