Nigerian soldiers, like the Federal Government are too full of complaints.

As an individual that has followed the military for many years, some of the losses ground troops face are embarrassing to say the least.

Nigerian troops lost at-least 2 Main Battle Tanks, 1 APC and 7 heavily armed gun trucks.


How can they claim to be out-gunned?

henry, i respect your opinion very well, but i also question the embarrassing losses NA has faced in recent times ,however from a candid view of a source in AOR, the issues with allowances especially the so called hazard allowance is still there, you may be talking of Tanks and guntrucks and apcs, henry tanks need shells to fire, they need disel for mobility, the ApCs need same ,the gun truck, needs same.

Now they may have captured caches, what orders were given to them, what was base defense like, what intel did they get,

Basic things like recon were they performed, imagine having a base with only one entrance, no foxhole or side entrance

Obvoiously our continous insistence on holding ground, defensively will continue to kill us.

Nepotism and Inherent corruption
And pot headed NA Cos will continue to kill us.

Until we decide to go on the offensive and have respect for the least NCO, the NA will continue to be a job oppourtunity

Personal Opinion: This caught my attention...everyone who has ever joined the Army after the end of the Civil War did so for power, and a source of employment. The Army by extension, the military has always been in charge without any aura mystery or patriotism just pure unadulterated power.

If it is to harass unarmed civilians you will see them.

If one should judge the whole Nig army according to the wickedness of some soldiers , one will never pity them or their relatives when they get killed on the battle field.
However, they still deserve our empathy and support in any form because they are defending the sovereignty of the country.

Honestly I'm surprised no one is asking these questions. In one breath, they claim they had insufficient weapons, but in another they said bh went away with "a large cache of arms, ammunition, and military equipment". Which one person go believe?

Furthermore, 70 is not a small number and these are supposed to be TRAINED soldiers fa cryin' out loud!!! How after about 45 mins of fighting, even with an APC they were easily annihilated by BH? Abi de BH fighters reach 1000?? Or them they use jazzz ni?

And lastly remember it's wasn't really a surprise attack as such. If the surviving soldier's account is to be believed, they actually had some advance warning. They (soldiers) were supposed to be prepared for such attacks.

Not trying to be insensitive, but when I hear such killings, I wonder. . .

from the story it is obvious the army did not wait to fight they saw the enemy and tried to run away,they have arms,ammunition, APC and main tanks,but they turned their backs on the enemy,that is not a warriors way to die to be shot in the back.

When you have BH sympathizers among the military and got misinformed in the BF, there's nothing much you can do.
