A young Nigerian man committed suicide this week.

Tolulope Abodunrin suffered from depression and had tried committing suicide before but he survived. Sadly, he went through with it this week.

Tolu's Twitter bio reads:

Nigerian. Retail and SME Banking. Finance, Economics, Sports and Politics. Goal-Getter. Depression and Suicide Survivor! Arsenal FC Fan.

People who knew him described him as an ambitious and helpful man and also a giver.

Depression is f*cking real, and not everyone have the mental strength to pass through it and remain the same
Always try and check up on your loved ones, call them on regular basis to see how they are doing

Depression has taken over most places since relationship. Friendships were limited to mobile chat like Facebook and whatsup, people hardly have time time to check on each other for real again except those who play football on local field or adult who patronise clubs.

Depression is real, and friends and family can play a big role in helping those feeling depressed. We joke a lot about things in this country that's why someone may update "Feeling suicidal" and a friend will comment, "We can't wait for your death". Though he may be kidding but that may just be the last push.
