You're very apt with this.

Honestly I don't see the reason for this book.

I'm a fan of the former president but I think this book is quite unnecessary. It only makes their predictions about him true. He could have just kept shut...or released the book at a later period, not now that the the very opposition he fought against is in power. They'd do everything to discredit his book and he'd have a hard time defending himself.

He shouldn't have bothered anyways. The average Nigerian wasn't looking forward to it. If anything he should have just kept lying low, not answering rebuffs from the current administration. One day they'd tire out. But if he's quick to offer explanations and reply, then he's in for a long thing.

Jonathan should stop being petty. Was he expecting no criticism to the trash work he did and who told him his work was widely accepted.

He thinks he is that popular, he should have come out to recontest for another election to discover that he's only a hero among the Igbos.

You clearly didn't read that post. That's why you are still daft enough to be ruled by Buhari

“GEJ got us here”, is the rehashed diatribe your propagandists whistle so much at APC’s BMC to believe yourself.

What got us here is very simple— something which I know you know but can’t publicly admit.

—Appointing Ministers a whooping SIX months after inauguration. (Who does that?!)
—Confusing and non-existent monetary policy.
—Bad mouthing Nigeria at the highest foreign platform. (You rubbish your country and expect others to come to invest? How? Are you that clueless?)
—Gross human rights record. (Companies stay away from countries that exhibit a contempt for the rule of law. This is public knowledge)
—Wanton insecurity with no end in sight.

I can list a few more. Lifeless incompetence and lifelessness got Nigeria to where it is. And, I’m sure, you know this.

Evil and Bloodthirst is a sane way to describe them.

They are genocidists and murderers. They do this because their people won’t call them to account and because Nigeria does not have the record of using its institutions to try genocidists and highly placed criminals.

GEJ kept quiet after he lost and handed over. He kept quiet for the last 3 years while they continued their onslaught. Thinking he'd be too meek to reply.

Now is election time. That period of silence is over. It's time to go to the trenches. It's propaganda vs facts now. APC no longer has the cloak of piety they had in 2014 and will not have it easy anymore. Enough is enough. #NeverAgain.

Yes I agree, Jonathan goofed. He was president and was in a position to deal with erring politicians including Shetima and even Buhari. Many statements were ascribed to Buhari such as the famous baboons that will soak in blood. The incumbent will not tolerate that from anyone no matter how highly ranked. That's why the Hausa / Fulani claim to have higher leadership ability than all other Nigerians. Leadership is about boldness to take decisions even though it appears stupid or cruel.

In as I'm not trying to defend GEJ, this is because he failed in some areas most especially in the areas of security but let be reasonable and rational when tackling issues.

GEJ never got us to this point, Buhari did. During the regime of GEJ, Nigeria was the largest African economy valued at $500 billion but now where are we during PMB's era, Nigeria has been ranked as one of the poorest nations in the world.

During GEJ regime, Nigeria was not even among Top 20 most corrupt nation in the world, Russia was even more corrupt than us, fine we were among top 50 but now in PMB's regime were are we? Nigeria has been ranked as the second most corrupt nation in the world.

During GEJ regime the equivalent of a dollar to naira was not up to 200# but now $1 dollar = #360.

During GEJ regime, the price of fuel wasn't up to #100 per litre but now it is now a whooping #145 per litre.

Nigeria has never been so insulted and humiliated than it is now under PMB's regime.

Let me stop there for now.

What a change. What did you say again? GEJ brought Nigeria to this point? like seriously. Dear, PMB did. We should stop shifting blames and blaming another person for someone's else mistake.

Yes GEJ bleeped up in some areas but at least his regime was more better than PMB's current regime.

#Xavier.

I understand your point.

I never knew that fella was a minion.

Anyways my point is the book just seems like Jonathan begging to be understood or exonerated. He's not the problem at all. The problem is the populace. Some would never read the book, but would use it as a point to insult him.

He could have delayed it a bit. His silence so far has been quite constructive.

“The institutional framework also included the establishment of such mechanisms as the treasury single account (TSA), and bank verification number (BVN), vital anti-corruption tools which are now shamelessly being appropriated by those that inherited them.”

Shamelessly? For real? Doing government's business will cause one to be ashamed of what for Gods sake. So Buhari should have abandoned every project he didnt initiate so he may not be ashamed. No wonder GEJ was booted out the way he was. Monumental cluelessnesss.

These kind of comments gets me pissed off. Why would GEJ take credit for TSA. He created and had the chance to implement it but didnt, until Buhari came and gave it all the force it required.

GEJ awarded so many contracts but didnt finance them. If Buhari finances them, who takes credit. Buhari came in and saw that PDP for 16 yrs were awarding different contracts to cronies without funding or political will to see the project completed. As a result, Buhari refused to tow in the line of PDP by awarding his own contracts but decided to finance to completion most abandoned contracts.

Typical is Abuja roads and flyovers that were abandoned since Obj, zero progress during GEJ but completed in Buhari's time. Also the Abuja-Kaduna rail, Abuja Metro rail, 2nd Niger bridge etc. These are no ordinary projects, the contractors who abandoned site were owed in Billions, Buhari had to pay off the debts from his 1st budget then finance the completion. Its never easy to pay debts but Buhari dedicated his tenure to pay contracts debts instead of cheap popularity by initiating and abandoning contracts like 16 yrs of PDP.

Besides if anyone will be honest, Buhari made the highest capital budget in Nigerias history, most of these funds went into paying capital debts left behind by PDP governments.

Who gets credit, he who promise to sponsor an orphan or he who actually sponsors an orphan.
