That post there is totally untrue. My uncle works with shell for over 12yrs now and also heads a department like that, as of 2014-2015 he was earning 2mil per month... let alone entry level earning same with him.

Chevron is around 15m for entry level.

The figures u give are over exaggerated...
Can't explain further but they are not the right figures for a graduate entry level..

The figures look perfectly OK to me.

OK,nice of u...but link me with how u got d job was it through an agent...mind u am a civil engineering student in her finals, just preparing down

With this type of mindset (that u need agent/connection) u will NEVER get to work in an IOC. U have to be very good to scale through. So focus on graduating with a good grade then follow the OP who provides very good coaching when preparing for exams and interviews conducted by these companies

From JarusHub, this is as authoritative as it gets.

Excellent emolument but they recruit very few at entry level. For instance, Seplat recruited less than 40 GT staff during her last recruitment process. Guess how many applied? c.40, 000! shocked shocked ***Scratches head for the percentage*** 0.001% embarassed embarassed Less I forget, they banned juju from the aptitude test hall. grin

@ Bolded, you are very very funny. You mean some people went to the interview hall with juju, A.K.A. otumokpo?

For those with long leg. If you know you know.

Long leg no dey Oil and Gas except for the admin dept.

Once u are good and have the correct certifications the IOC will find u. I know a drilling superintendent that earns more than $1500 a day in a 28 days rotation.

I was there too. Did you attend the Young professionals- mentorship evening? I was one of the mentors.
I was one of the young professionals volunteers at the conference. The young professionals mentorship evening was highly inspiring, I got to talk with few people from the industry. As a fresh graduate of geology in summary I got the hope that everything is possible.
Thanks for putting up yourself to mentor us and rejuvenate our hope.

Despite the debate about the continued relevance of oil and the turbulence in the global oil and gas industry, upstream oil and gas remains the highest paying industry in Nigeria

In this article, we present the top 7 highest paying oil and gas companies in Nigeria based on our research:

1. TOTAL: Total Upstream (Total Exploration & Production) is the highest paying oil and gas company in Nigeria. An entry level graduate earns more than N25,000,000 per annum as gross pay.

2. CHEVRON: The American oil company pays more than N22,000,000 per annum to a fresh recruit at entry level position.

3. EXXONMOBIL: Exxon comes joint second with Chevron in the ranking of highest paying international oil companies in Nigeria. The IOC pays a fresh graduate, like its American sister, Chevron, pays fresh graduates about N22,000,000 gross per annum.

4. SHELL: Entry level permanent staff at Anglo-Dutch giants, Royal Dutch Shell, starts with a gross pay that is circa N19,000,000 per annum.

5. AGIP: Italian giant, Agip (or NAOC – Nigeria Agip Oil Company), pays entry level recruits more than N18,000,000 per annum.

6. ADDAX: The Chinese multinational oil company is the highest paying non-IOC in Nigeria. It come next to the big 5. Entry level graduates earn not less than N16,000,000 per annum.

7. SEPLAT: The only indigenous company on the list, graduate hires at Seplat gross around N12,000,000 per annum, making them the highest paying Nigerian oil company for entry level positions.
For most of these companies, engineers that work offshore also get extra pay in addition to other performance bonuses.

These companies are multinational and I guess their wage structure reflect international payscale irrespective of location....
I may be wrong though....
Moreover, those salaries look big as per naija purchasing power parity...but it seems like standard pay for most graduate entry level jobs....
20million is about $55 thousand which is not really much in most developed nations...

exactly, some people even think the money is too much for the oil companies to pay, they don't know that those oil companies will pay those monies without feeling a pinch

lol .. them Dey like show themselves where I Dey , however I doubt the figures , maybe if the OP says ‘gross ‘ many other entitlements one is unaware of .

The figures are near true. While salaries will amount to about 10m to 15m of the gross (emoluments), the remained are in benefits/entitlements. Gross like you have pointed out includes other entitlements cool cool
