Santi Carzola on why Samu Chuk Weiser(Chukwueze) is a class above other youngsters;

"He is a lot different, no much time on the phone unlike some young players. That has helped him to put his focus on the game. The way he works hard in training is also very encouraging. It won’t be long before he becomes established, if he maintains this motivation and drive”

The opposite is a true definition of equally talented KC Nwakali. Always sharing pictures and footages of where he is hanging out unlike Chuks whose pictures and clips are training, training and training. Sometimes I wonder if Nwakali has left soccer for the Run Ways.

Bukayo Saka has moved a step closer in his bid to break the record of Nigeria's youngest debutant for Premier League side Arsenal after he was named in their match day squad for this evening's Europa League meeting against Vorskla Poltava.

It was not certain that the Hale End Academy product would be included in the 18 as manager Unai Emery earlier named 20 players on the provisional roster for the trip to Kiev on Wednesday.

With one eye on the North London derby vs Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, the Spanish tactician took ten youngsters to Kiev, including Bukayo Saka.

Saka will become the youngest player of Nigerian descent to debut for Arsenal if he comes off the bench against the Ukrainians, aged 17 years, 2 months, 24 days.

It is also worth noting that the winger cum fullback will become the youngest player of Nigerian descent to feature in the Europa League if he gets game time.

That record is currently held by former Everton midfielder Hope Akpan, who was aged 18 years, 4 months, 3 days when he faced BATE Borisov in December 2009.

Arsenal Starting XI Vs Vorskla Poltava : Cech, Lichtsteiner, Jenkinson, Holding, Maitland-Niles, Guendouzi, Elneny, Willock, Ramsey, Smith Rowe, Nketiah.

Substitutes: Martinez, Osei-Tutu, Medley, Gilmour, Saka, Mkhitaryan, John-Jules

Levante forward Moses Simon says the recently released national team ranking for the month of October by FIFA is not a thing of worry for the Super Eagles of Nigeria who were ranked as the 4th best team in Africa.

10 Things About Women Men Value More Than Good Looks
Nigeria stood static at 44th position in the global ranking and on the continent they are behind Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco ‎with Senegal now the highest ranked African nation thanks to their global placement of 23 among football nations.

Simon said players of the Super Eagles were expecting a better ranking mainly due to their unbeaten run following their exit at the World Cup in Russia but conceded that it really doesn’t matter on the pitch.

” There are teams ahead of us that can’t even get a coach against us. To be honest we know our position in Africa and it’s same globally and only on the pitch will people get to see it. No matter where we are ranked we will no doubt prove it against any team on the pitch “, Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com.

If Lobi were to play at home first and only win by 1-0 there would be talk about a slim lead. These people care nothing about the league they just want to say no player is good enough but nobody is dragging players with them, they are only proving that they were only hating in the first place.
honestly the stuff is becoming stale

Villarreal...I am becoming a fan of the club than any other club which has a Nigerian.... the greenhorn called' Samu" by Spanish press is really exciting.

Rangers vs Chukwueze[come and beat me] grin grin
I am watching Samuel Adegbenro Rosenburg fc playing against Celtic. Rosenburg are always playing in Europe and are the top team in Norway. Not muchb is said about him here but he left the NPFL he's only 22b and playing in the top team in Norway.

Watching the game first half he has not been outstanding.

Next game is Glasgow Rangers against Villareal. Rangers will be very aggressive, physical and will use thier pace on the wing, however Villarreal are technically superior.

If Rangers press from the word go then they may have a chance otherwise l expect Villareal to win maybe 2-3.

Chukwueze is being described as being HUGE TALENT by many here after a few games in La Liga and in the SE straight away. Quite a few have nominated him for awards. Way too premature in my opinion.

That implies that he is top Outstanding talent. It's a two edged sword of expectations. He must have over riding influence in the game that's the minimum expectation. He has to be dominating his wing create assists and hopefully score.

I notice nobody is taking about Sadiq Umar who has been abysmal at Rangers. Another player that was hyped to the heavens. Described as being better than Ighalo, Tega Abrahams, etc by many here.

Well he is being eclipsed by 17 year old Dapo Mebude who is considered a better prospect it seems. In a recent reserve hame he replaced Sadiq Umar at half time then scored a hat-trick. Don't know if he will make the bench today. Below link about him.

Chukwueze is a good talent no doubt but too early for any award.

One thing I hate about Nigerians is that they will still be the one to insult him so soon but I pray it doesn't happens ,Nigerians are anywhere belle face.

The umar Sadiq crew are no where to be found ,I am not saying umar Sadiq is a bad player but so many people on this thread didn't allow us hear word about umar Sadiq, some even prefer him to ighalo ,I told them guys please calm down and this boy is yet to even play 25 games in his football career and they are already hyping him .

The scottish move has not been a good one for Umar. He has not been given many opportunities. The endorsement of Umar was based on his performances in the eredivise last season. On that form, he was very good. And Ighalo was offering nothing until the last 2 games.

Chukwueze being nominated depends on the category.

If you recall I had made my assessment about Sadiq Umar and aspects of his game that were very weak.

His physicality is very poor for such a big guy and he has no balance I even suggested that he might have a problem with his feet.

These are things that will not be noticed in the less physically intense leagues.

He is being eclipsed badly by the Nigerian origin 17 year old teenager Dapo Mebude.

WHY THOSE NORTH AFRICA CLUB WILL PLAY AWAY IN NIGERIA AND BEAT US,at lest DEY GO GET DRAW!
in the RETURNED LEG At there country dey Will hammer our club like no be football then dey play again
l.e 4-0,5-1,6-0,7-2,etc
Don't mind them sir,... Every year since I started watching football in 1993/1994, Nigeria teams from Udoji United, stationery stores, Julius Berger etc have been getting ass bleeped by these Arab teams... Today 2018, Enyimba is still ass bleeped home and away by these same Arab teams

Uptill now, NPFL have refused to close the gap in performance and ability. Rather they prefer to wallow in mediocrity

All we get year in, year out is excuses upon excuses

No goal, no aim, no improvement, no ambition, no nothing

They rather compare themselves with Djibouti, Comoros, and Equatorial Guinea than take the bull by the horn and aim to develop our football to the level of the Brazilians, the Germans, the Spanish, French and English league

No.. Why aspire to those Heights when you are comfortable with losing 1 nil away to a Cameroonian team and turn around to say "we tried"

Same thing with the falcons our female team. While teams like South Africa and Cameroon are closing the gap, we have consistently failed to do so since 1999 with the teams from other continent. And more annoying is that we have let these African nations catch up with us. One can no longer enjoy the female team play these side without a sense of panic.

I know we would win the finals, am sure at least by a lone goal, a goal difference or penalties. But sadly that's no longer the falcons of Mercy Udoh the wife of Colin Udoh I grew up watching.
Thank God reasonable people like you are beginning to understand what I am saying.

Nigeria football have been stagnant, and that's primarily because our league have simply refused to improve.

In Africa, most countries are beginning to catch up with us in female football, but we, what have we done to catch up with our perennial superiors from other continents of the world?

Nothing...

Rather in 2018 we are still getting ass whipped 8-0 by France

During USA 1999 world Cup, we won our first match 2-1, got walloped 7-1 by USA second game but we somehow managed to qualify for the quarter final where we lost to Brazil in a pulsating 4-3 showdown

One would have thought that we would have grown from that tournament to become world beaters going forward.

But what we saw in Sydney 2000 was an eyesore, we lost all our group matches 3-1, 3-1, 3-1

Since then we have been on a downward spiral

When two average teams meet, its either here or there

Would you be able to decide the scoreline of a match between Wolves & say SD Huesca?
At bolded, why can't we too play better football?

Or is it a taboo to play better football?

If we can't play better football now due to one reason or the other, why then can't we develop a 10-years developmental plan in order to enable us play good football and grow to become invincible?

Must we remain in the abyss of lowly rated football league?

Must we continue this vicious cycle?

Villareal can finish them off, prior to that Villarreal where the better but just. That's why it's still 0-0 no goals scored.

Hopefully, Chukwueze will come on and finish Flanagan on the left. He is a shadow of hi former self when he played at Liverpool.

My grouse with you was why you expected them to grind out a win knowing how things are at the moment

For too long, we only hear derisive comment, of course it is worth dishing out but its getting stale that's why I entered into this discussion

This Lobi case is not a case of "unto who much is given...", its an average team with not much of a pedigree & for their level they've tried.

Unfortunately the big name isnt all encompassing, it doesn't cover all teams in Nigeria.

Its not like Lobi has suddenly turned to a classy team or something, neither is USD Loum an A-class team. My issue is that your expectations is very unrealistic

Come now, can you predict the score between let's say Genoa FC and Fulham?

If you have any other reason why these clubs should be beating everybody they meet other than "we are a big name in African football" please share
At bolded, FYI, Lobi stars have more prestige in the CCL than USD Loum or whatever their name is from Cameroon

Go and check your records

Lobi stars in the early 2000 played very well in the Champions League and won matches away when they needed to

As a matter of fact, these are matches that I watched live on TV because I am a fanatic football fan

I am not just the Chelsea, Barcelona fan.. No, in the past I watch anything football from 5-aside live and on TV to Argentine, Mexican, USA, South African, Norwegian, Portuguese leagues...

I have only toned down a little of recent since many years of Nigerian football disappointment

Growing up, I am the only one that will scan the whole of the neighborhood looking for where to watch Ghana vs New Zealand U-17 world Cup match by 2am even at the risk of my life in a strange town

So when I complain about the poor performance of our teams, I am predisposed to know by experience the stand point of my arguments

I stand to be quoted anywhere,

"NIGERIA BY VIRTUE OF EXPERIENCE, ACCOMPLISHMENT AND LEVEL, HAS NO BUSINESS STRUGLING ON THE CONTINENT IN ALL CADRE OF FOOTBALL"

As Sir Southgate will say, African football seems to be retrogressing

And I will add to it by saying that Nigeria and the NPFL should be out there competing with the best of the world against Europe and America, not losing 1-0 away in Doula and coming to give me excuses.

Have you asked yourself why we lost the two slots in the first instance?

If not for our poor performance, would we have lost them? undecided

Even after losing them, will performing woefully on the road against any opponent bring it back? huh

How you go on and on defending terrible performance and attitudes amazes me

Baba we are mediocre at best to say the least

The earlier we buckle up the better for everyone

So we shouldn't restructure our football and aim for the sky rather we should stand and look with hands akimbo?

Rangers are very tired and down to 10 men so it's open for him to shine.

And I will add to it by saying that Nigeria and the NPFL should be out there competing with the best of the world against Europe and America, not losing 1-0 away in Doula and coming to give me excuses.
be sincere to your self apart from football in what face of life can we ever compete with those continents u mentioned
in fact name one area of life we can compete with the European

Atleast football have created a platform for we as Africans to compete with the rest of the world.

Football to me is the "fairest" sport or platform for any human race to excel because football is simply "garbage in, garbage out"

Another way to describe it is "what you put in is what you get"

Technology don't play football if not USA, Russia and Japan would have been world best

The simple ingredients to football is Athletics, Mental strength, mental technicalities, skills, pace and experience

On this note, any team who possess more of these attributes than the other team prevails

How then we haven't been able to harness these attributes as our strength in order to dominate the world baffles me
