Nigeria's economy is growing on paper but for average citizen, there's little or nothing to show for it. Visiting any of the major cities in the world, you would find out transportation is almost if not free. Whether you live in Lagos, Ibadan, Kano, Kaduna, Jos, Awka, Owerri, Asaba, Enugu, Rivers, Benin or even the FCT, you are likely to come across someone who is stranded and in need of some transport fare. Anyone can find themselves in this situation. Anyone, but because of evil doers, nobody trusts or helps anyone else these days. Let me share my little experience from yesterday. I went for an interview somewhere in GRA, Ikeja. I was elated when I found out the interviewer was female. I knew it would be easier to leave an impression on her so I put my charms on 100%. After what seemed like forever, the interview was concluded and I was congratulated. Whilst making my way back, I discovered my phone was dead which was strange cause I was sure I still had some battery life left. I did what I could but it just wouldn't come on. I was pissed. So I got on a bike and got to the cantonment only for my wallet to disappear on me. I felt like my village people were getting a strong hold on me. Luckily for me, the bike guy is Hausa and he understood. In my naivety, I was hoping I could hitch a ride to Opebi. I stood at the newly constructed bus stop at the military cantonment. In all, I approached three cars. Their replies were the same. (Check the meme below). 16 Likes 1 Share

I ended up walking the whole distance and guess what, it wasn't all that bad. I passed the cars that refused me on the Opebi link bridge around Club Vegas. The traffic gridlock was insane. I got home, took a shower, shared my story with a friend and got laid. My take from the experience is that Nigeria is irreparably damaged. Share your own experience. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

as a traveller and hustler, I've been stranded multiple times but God pulled through theres one time, I was stranded at onitsha at about 9pm on my way to Benin city from Enugu, gosh it was terrible the head bridge was gridlocked and it was raining all bus parks had closed, Benin city isn't a trekkable distance, I felt hopeless and was contemplating how I would be robbed that night or even sleeping in a Catholic church at Onitsha as a last resort, at the 11th hour I pulled a call through to my sister who served in Anambra state in 2016 and she helped linking to someone with whom I stayed the night, truly it wasn't a wonderful experience since im FTC, im using this opportunity to thank all the good persons who render genuine help to stranded persons tops on my list would be Mr Gift from Choba, port harcourt city Mr Godspower from Andoni in Rivers state the Onitsha man that helped me that night, sorry i cant remember your name these persons helped without ulterior motives God bless you guys 65 Likes 2 Shares |

FreshBoss007:The church should have been a sanctuary at the time. But then again, like I said, even the church security guard might not trust you enough. If Nigeria was a safe place, you could have hitchhicked with an interstate truck driver but Nigeria don too cast to dey do all those kind things. 15 Likes |

Yes ooo. Was coming back from work 3 years ago, stopped at Oshodi under bridge to get BRT. When it was time to pay, I discovered that Oshodi boys have done their work, no wallet, one of my phones was gone and I didn't even know. Thank God my main phone was in my front pocket. No money, no ATM card nothing... My eye red. Begged like two persons to help me with #200 while I transfer #1,000 from my bank app, the refused. Very embarrassing. Finally a good guy paid my fare home. Tried to get his number but he refused. The guy refused a payback. Mehn that day was hell. Bye Bye to Eko 55 Likes |

I have ooo More than once The first one I can remember happened when I was in Secondary School I was going home from hostel to Lagos, I knew before hand the total fare from Shagamu to Lagos so I used the extra money on Mii to eat snacks in the bus from Shagamu to Ikorodu. On getting to Ikorodu, it had rained and the fares had increased from Ikorodu to Idumota I had to walk from from Ikorodu to Agric then board a bus from there to K2 then trekked from K2 to Anthony busstop then took a bus from there to Idumota then trek home. After that experience, I always make sure I have more than enuff money on Mii when commuting anywhere in Nigeria most especially Lasgidi I was stranded again some months back I was coming back from work and I had to go to a FedEx facility to receive a package I ordered from Amazon. I got to the place and I couldn’t get the package because I didn’t have my ID on Mii and to make matters worse my phone died and I couldn’t either call Uber or check the nearest busstop to my location or when the bus will come. I wanted to buy charger but nowhere to buy from and no one to borrow from either. I later found my way to a busstop and had to wait there for like an hour before the bus showed up and I had to beg the bus driver again because I had no cash on Mii to pay the bus fare because I use electronic bus pass which is on my dead phone 15 Likes 1 Share |

How about when you have taken all the erujeje and origin bitters expecting your babe to come over, then she disappoints you telling you she can't make it or she comes around but on her monthly stuff. Does that count? 18 Likes |

Was sent to Gombe for NYSC then I redeployed to abia (MOUAU) got to abia at 10pm had no money for hotel .... Slept with a security guard. Was travelling at night to abuja via Lagos bus was attacked by robbers, I bolted into the thick buses of ekiti and slept under a tree. Went for an interview somewhere in Maryland had no money to get home so I decided to trek ( to ikotun) and on my way home that hot afternoon I wanted to jump over a gutter and praaaa!! My trousers tour parallely apart. Wasn't wearing a boxer but a white men's pantie . with the hunger and thirst in me I had to pretend to be a mentally unstable guy to be able to get arms. Since then I don't angage in castigating fake beggars. Less I forget I applied for a job In Enugu while I was in Lagos . I got an unannounced invitation to appear before the interview Parnell in Enugu within 24 hours. Since my CV read my location to be Enugu I had to opt for Enugu that night. Ladies and gents I boarded a young shall grow luxurious bus to the east and stood up all through the journey so as to enable me have extra cash to return to lag. My tale is really a long one and for every page I was stranded... I thank God for where we are coming from and for where we've got and I hope and pray to get to where is intended 164 Likes 7 Shares |

Mehn, I have been stranded couples of time during my university days, But i do find good Nigerians to help me out in every situation, I schooled in the east, often time i do find it hard to transport myself back to the west whenever we are on break.. There was a day i entered one chance bus at Onitsha going to Lagos, I was being skeptical of the bus thou, But just because the transport fare was cheaper compare to other buses , I decided to proceed, Only for the driver to Stop at Ore(Ondo-State) and told us that''s the last bus-stop.. to cut long story short.. I met a young man that assisted me , He accommodated me that night and gave me transport the next day.. Funny experience again, i was stranded in Ondo state, I met a security man(bank guard), I narrated my story that i was coming from the east and I'm on my way to Ekiti.. They man took pity and told me He's also from the East, As poor as the man was, He gat a golden heart.. He took me to his one room apartment and i continue my journey the next day.. The funny aspect was that the yorubas brothers i met in Akure before the man that helped me, actually robbed me of my phone that night before meeting the man.. Again in PHC, no enough cash to pay for transport to Ekiti.. Someone just paid my fare for me.. Mehn.. Anythime i see or hear of anyone being stranded.. I dont even wanna know maybe its real or fake.. i assist immediately . I can go on and on.. 62 Likes 3 Shares |

Almost once. I was redeployed to AKS for my NYSC-ing, my sister decided to hook me up with a friend (girl)to crash at her place. I never liked the whole idea..decided to hustle for some extra money for hotel just in case. Called the girl next day that I was to travel. On getting to AKS, her phone was switched off . I saw some corps that were redeployed too at the park. Told them about lodging since we all new. One of them said NCCF...na so we go NCCF. God Bless the Nccf !! 13 Likes |

After our PTA bus, which took us from FGC Okigwe to FESTAC, dropped all my friends at Amuwo-Odofin park of C. N. Okoli I waited earnestly for my dad to come and pick me up. One by one, I kept counting the vehicles that came and picked my friends until there was a handful of us. Those of us that were hopeful did not have cash to board danfo and the fear of boarding a danfo around 10:00PM wasn't a good idea. Then I checked my Casio wristwatch and saw that the time was 11:00PM. I was still hopeful. When the time was getting close to 1:00AM, I called a few of my schoolmates and told them we needed to stay close. The year was 1997 and Otokoto was still fresh. We were very afraid. We located a makeshift shed which had two tables and some stools and made ourselves comfortable. We huddled close to keep warm. No girl was among us. As we were sleeping, something hard hit me on the head and as we woke up, we heard a woman shouting profanities at us in Yoruba, asking us to get the hell out of her shop as if we were thinking it was our bedroom. She was one of those ladies who sold hot drinks to the many men who patronized her at that unholy hour of the night. We found another spot by a street light which was lit and slept open-eyed till the morning came. 24 Likes 1 Share |

The day I went for my first interview. (The original shoe I bought for 18k). As I alighted from the bus,i went straight to a roadside clobber, I told him I have an interview and he should hurry with polishing my shoe. He told me to sit down and he took my shoes to get polish along with him. I waited and waited on him but he didn't come back with my shoe. It was already 9am and I was called that it's time, that I should step in but I told them my plight. They adjusted my interview to 10 am. I waited but that idiot clobber didn't return. I was confused , so i decided to knock at someone's gate closer to me. An old man opened the gate and asked who I was looking for?, I gave him straight answer and I told him my plight that he should lend me one of his shoes, He said he doesn't have. It was 10:30, they called and said they will postpone mine. I finally saw one young guy and I explained to him,he gave me his and I put it on, and headed for my interview despite the postponement. I finally got there at 12:23 pm and guess what? GNLD 2013 104 Likes 3 Shares |

I know a young guy and an old man at cms bus terminal. They come everyday at different time(I bet they do not know each other sef) they come to the park with few naira notes, whispering to every passenger how they just got stranded and need an additional cash for tfare. Everyone is tired of their nonsense. The fake ones have made it difficult for the real ones to get help 13 Likes 1 Share |
