I was in abia state and asked to go for a workshop to Enugu by my House, others were selected but not from my facility. I told my immediate boss she said it's not necessary to go not knowing she was envious that she wasn't chosen. Around 4.30 pm that day someone called me that they are looking for me.
I decided to go to Enugu, I was putting on white pants that day and it rained heavily, I was messed up with flood. I took a bike to reach the venue and I was robbed by the bike man but he still dropped me at the venue. I

I called my Hod and he said rooms were allocated to people that came early and there's nothing he can do. I met a lady told her my ordeal she took me to her room, and took my clothes to laundry and I was worried hoping the clothes will dry, but she brought them an hour later that they used washing and drying machine. I felt like kneeling and thanking her. I was too exhausted and slept off. The next day was the last day for the workshop, I was paid only for half day as they said I came late the previous day. I learnt my lessons.

Either early movement or not.

This very friday after EMA class I use my last 50 card to join a bus to ozoro..getting to the bank, the atm just stop dispensing and people are waiting for the bank staff to load the machine..That's how I joined them to wait.
Waited from 2 to 5pm,before they load the machine..when it got to my turn to withdraw,I brought out my wallet to bring out my atm but all I could see is my sch I.d, S.P.E I.d card and my voters card..I almost fainted..
I would have joined a bike home and collect money from my guys in the hostel to pay but most guys have traveled for weekend,we are few and all of us are broke, must are even waiting for me to cook soup.
I just zero my mind and trek from ozoro to oleh with help of my BlackBerry and my ear pies..I played eminem songs all through.

wow, I don't know which one to say. but let me drop this particular one.
in my 200l in hall 3 uniben. it was a normal thing to cook with hot plate (electric cooker). some of us in the hostel didn't even have kerosene stove. so on this particular day, something went wrong with the light, the current was too low to carry The hot plate, so I couldn't cook. I went to read, came back in the evening, current was still low, I still couldn't cook. if there was no light at all, they would have put on the gen by 7pm. but since there was still light, even tho it was low, the people in charge will never put off the light to put on the gen. no one in my room cooked. so I decided to go for night class. Hunger almost made me unconcious while I was reading, so I decided to go back to the hostel while doing a mental calculation on which of my friends must have cooked. I went to one of my friends room that night, the guy too Don go night class. have to borrow phone for my roommate to call any of my friends avaliable. for where, most of their phone where not going through. I managed to call Desmond, he picked and told me e was coming back from night class with two girls. that I should wait for him and that he only had garri to offer me. I said no p. he came back around 12 .15 am. it was that dey that I realized that the sweetness of ordinary garri could compete with any thing in this life.
I learnt never to read anything especially calculations whenever I am hungry.

If you devote as much time as you devote to this issue on whatever you do, I don’t think you’ll have time to still pay mind to how someone else decides to do his own thing.

Bro, how I choose to write should not be of concern to you cos you don’t know Mii and I likewise don’t know you.

Am not writing an application for a job that I have to watch my tenses, spellings, grammar and punctuations.

I was stranded and I came here on nairaland to solicit for fund. a good Samaritan credited my account with a 1thousand naira. the money be like one million naira to me cos it came at a time all hope was lost. I will never forget that fellow. I pray for him earnestly that night. God bless that person for me. I hope to see and appreciate that someday. God bless u

This is really touching. It shows that not all who ask for help are really fake afterall, only that the bad ones are many and have made people to always turn deaf ears to those soliciting for help genuinely.

Me I cant remember getting stranded cos I always have Plan A, B and C when traveling especially. If I'm short of cash, I may borrow before embarking on a venture or just ditch it.

The day I went for my first interview. (The original shoe I bought for 18k).

As I alighted from the bus,i went straight to a roadside clobber, I told him I have an interview and he should hurry with polishing my shoe. He told me to sit down and he took my shoes to get polish along with him. I waited and waited on him but he didn't come back with my shoe. It was already 9am and I was called that it's time, that I should step in but I told them my plight. They adjusted my interview to 10 am. I waited but that idiot clobber didn't return. I was confused , so i decided to knock at someone's gate closer to me. An old man opened the gate and asked who I was looking for?, I gave him straight answer and I told him my plight that he should lend me one of his shoes, He said he doesn't have. It was 10:30, they called and said they will postpone mine.

I finally saw one young guy and I explained to him,he gave me his and I put it on, and headed for my interview despite the postponement.

I finally got there at 12:23 pm and guess what?

I have so many stories of being stranded but I'm going to drop this funny one

Back in Delsu (Asaba campus) a friend celebrated his Girlfriend's birthday and we all went out to have fun at Graceland bar for those who know asaba very well, from there we decided to continue the Groove at opposite Grand Hotel but something strange happened to me, immediately I took my bottle of small stout I started feeling weird and uncomfortable, I knew something was wrong but I can't seem to figure it out, I decided to take a walk to ease up but things got worse with me, I then settled within myself to go home without anyone knowing what's going on with me but Alas I had just #100 with me which is not enough considering the odd hour, I knew I needed to act fast else I will be doomed, I started to flag down taxis but they all turned me down out of fear because I wasn't acting normal and my destination was a no go area at such hour, finally a man stopped and decided to take me to my destination for #1000, I agreed and we set out, as we got close to my hostel, I asked the driver to stop and I dashed out into the dark leaving the driver in total awe.

Another event was when I took a bike to then Oceanic bank (now Ecobank) at asaba to withdraw money because the sender already confirmed to have made the deposit, I was confident so I told the bike man he was taking me to and fro, we settled for #300 and when we got to bank I dashed in and filled my withdrawal slip, gave it to the cashier and was waiting with my head high, things took a wild turn when she handed my booklet to me and said I had no cash and to see the customer care for my balance, my head grew big, I started to sweat under the A.C., I had only 5h and can't withdraw anything, I went out to explain to the bike man but he wouldn't listen, he was ready for a fight, I went to this man who sells card close to the bank and explained to him, he settled the bike man #200, I went back into the waiting for my account to be credited, it was 3:50pm and luckily for me my neighbor (Buwa) came to make some withdrawal also, he bailed me out, I got home sad and devastated.

Thank heavens for everything, it made me stronger.

another was during this ponzi scheme. I was no fan of that stuff at that time but my roommate whom I shared a room with at ekosodin, Benin, had a dream of buying a car with MMM. he was into the shit like mad. he would collect money from his parents for academic purpose only to invest it in ponzi scheme.
I had my rent money in my account just waiting for the time it was due to renew the rent. the rent was to be due by January ending. it was November by then. my Rommie asked me to give him my own part of The rent, that he want to go and pay. I knew instantly that he wanted to combine both his rent and mine to invest in ponzi. I warned him. but he denied, claiming that was not his intentions, but after much pressure, he agreed and told me that I will have my own cut in the profit and that if he couldn't get the money back, he will shoulder the responsibility of paying the rent alone. na so I take surrender my share of rent give am. December come. mmm crash, na so our rent follow mmm go o. that was how we started investing in other ponzi schemes like ultimate cycler, what app ponzi etc, to recovery our rent o. but we couldn't realise even half of the rent, because, we were still losing to the ponzi world. As my roommate see say go no go and landlord don give everybody deadline of February to pay rent. the guy have to open up to parents na, to collect rent again o. and the funny thing is that, the guy collects full rents from his parents as if he is staying alone. the parents begin para o. send am money way no reach again, say Na wetin they get be that. say if he know where to borrow make he borrow. na so landlord come our room, o. throway our load come outside o. the man no want hear anything. that day I was so embarrassed. na so me and my roommate go meet one of my realest guy for him house. if you see us eh, you go think say we don give woman belle. na so we come explain give my guy o. say make he help us with I think 8- 10k if I can remember correctly, and you know say to borrow that kind money from your fellow student hand dey hard. but luckily for us, the guy gave us. na so we come complete the money go pay landlord o.

Mine happened few years back!

After School vacated, I planned my going back graciously grin after spending 6months in that school.

That faithful morning when I got to YSG bus station I bought a ticket (luxurious) #4500, I then separated the remaining change, #300 would take me home when I reach Lagos and #200 for food during the journey.

Unknown to me, when I was putting the t.fare money it didn't enter my pocket fully, to cut the story short I realized I had lost the money after buying hot corn angry when we stopped to eat, suddenly sweat everywhere cry

As we continued the journey I was just moody calculating how my trekking would me, luckily for me
a pregnant woman seated at my back noticed my sudden change in behavior, she asked if there was any problem at first I wanted to say no but with the look of things we would reach Lagos by 11, I had to tell her everything and coincidentally she was also going to the area I lived.

She eventually paid for my t.fare, the way I thanked her ehnnn cheesy

I have ooo

More than once

The first one I can remember happened when I was in Secondary School

I was going home from hostel to Lagos, I knew before hand the total fare from Shagamu to Lagos so I used the extra money on Mii to eat snacks in the bus from Shagamu to Ikorodu.

On getting to Ikorodu, it had rained and the fares had increased from Ikorodu to Idumota

I had to walk from from Ikorodu to Agric then board a bus from there to K2 then trekked from K2 to Anthony busstop then took a bus from there to Idumota then trek home.

After that experience, I always make sure I have more than enuff money on Mii when commuting anywhere in Nigeria most especially Lasgidi

I was stranded again some months back

I was coming back from work and I had to go to a FedEx facility to receive a package I ordered from Amazon.

I got to the place and I couldn’t get the package because I didn’t have my ID on Mii and to make matters worse my phone died and I couldn’t either call Uber or check the nearest busstop to my location or when the bus will come.

I wanted to buy charger but nowhere to buy from and no one to borrow from either.

I later found my way to a busstop and had to wait there for like an hour before the bus showed up and I had to beg the bus driver again because I had no cash on Mii to pay the bus fare because I use electronic bus pass which is on my dead phone

you did not learn from your first experience and who the hell goes to pick up a package without ID.lol
