1. The reason(s) for asset sales are more often than not discernible from the state of affairs with the seller. The seller, for obvious reasons, does not go town with all the details.
2. For Shell it claims it is divesting from Nigeria. The less discernible is that it is no longer business as usual so they seek for where to maximise profit. Crisis in the Niger Delta was also in view.
3. For Diamond Bank, only the neophyte in financial and banking matters will believe its stated reasons for selling its international assets and business. Diamond Bank is playing the ostrich here! It is on a mission to scale down because it is dying. The typical starving human starts feeding on itself to survive. Diamond bank is doing just that! The next step in the order of retrogression is for Diamond Bank to apply for a regional banking licence!!!
4. Only a drastic change in operating system and a willingness of the family to put in funds can save Diamond Bank as things stands. If Uzoma the Scion of the respected Paschal Dozie is kept in the Driver’s chair and he keeps drinking, womanising and serially committing the corporate sins that escorted him to his present state then Diamond Bank’s goose is cooked! #runforyourmoney

Hahaha, I didn’t join in spoiling Nigeria, before my departure l contributed my quota, I was working at the same time I had a small SME that provided jobs for few people, I paid my taxes and all manner of fees both (genuine and fake) to council officials, don't let me talk about paying for diesel / petrol to run the business and also contributions to PHCN when transformers blows and PHCN poles falls.

In case you don't know Igbos are not only found in the modern day south east of nigeria that was created not very long ago. Tony Elumelu is an Igbo man from Delta state.
That being said, am assuming you're educated and as such should know that mismanagement has little or nothing to do with tribe, ethnicity, religion, race or things like these and by the way what is a Keystone bank? Bank that has been selling almost all of its branches in the country.

Nigeria's apex bank, Central Bank of Nigeria has granted Diamond Bank Plc the approval to operate as a national bank following its application for it.

The bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Uzoma Dozie, said this in a statement signed by the bank’s Head of Media, Ezechinyere Anyanwu, on Friday in Abuja.

According to Dozie, the move was part of Diamond Bank’s strategy to focus on Nigeria’s significant opportunities.

He said that the change in the license means Diamond Bank could expand product services to Nigerian consumers.
