A lot of guys get it wrong, there are times to be firm and there are times to lay back and allow situations play out. I don't see any reason why a man won't go shopping with his side and wait for her. it goes on to show how men see women as their subordinates rather than their partners. This is the same girl you would call 5x in a day, carry food in food flask to her apartment, do all sorts of ego damning stuff for when you were asking her out. But now you are married with kids, she is relegated to the backseat. One thing I know about men who run their homes like cantoments, they are always alone. After the kids grow up and leave, you will discover that you have no one by your side not even your wife because you have severed the chord of partnership and friendship. The worst part is you will be too ashamed to admit it. its like you have successfully entombed yourself in your bid to be the hard, unshakeable man of the house. A man should be friends with his wife and kids not because they need it, But it makes the home much fun and comfortable for everyone.

shut up bro. when you get married to the woman of your dreams who left every thing and her dreams to cling to you, who sacrificed her time to cook, clean up and do a lot for you and your kids, who'd go out in the morning to her place of work or business and come back stressed only for you and your kids to demand food, a tidy environment and at night you'd demand some round of sex from that same tired woman and then she'll clean up and go thru same routine again and again, you'd know she's worth the wait while she shops.

I'm talking from a happily married man with kids perspective.

I was at a supermarket today and I spent close to 45 minutes at the perfume section. Heaven...

The reason why you are shopping with her is to help her out, there are times when you see that she is wasting time arguing price. you can step in and pay for the goods. Though she may protest but deep down she will be glad that you saved her the stress of haggling to nearest kobo. What you should realise is that when you get old and you can't move around often, it's memories and experiences like this you will hold on to. We are all gonna pass on one day, the money will not go anywhere with us. let's learn to spend time with our spouses outside the bedroom. I see a lot of old men who re sad and alone because the children grown and traveled out, the wife has gone to visit one of the kids families and spends months there leaving the man alone at home with a house boy. But when you look at how he ran the home when he was younger you will understand why everyone is running away from him. you will see them buying clothes and cars for him, renovating the house and all, but nobody wants to stay with him, which is what he needs most at that time. All because of a toxic, chauvinistic nature. men let's be wise.

...very very very true about the bolded...similar situation is happening right now to a relative i know...he's extremeely wealthy but he's the only one at home right now as none of his children wants to relate with him and his wife is happily visiting all her children in different countries staying in each place between 2 - 3months...the only time his wife is home between Dec - Jan...He was just to harsh to the children when they were growing up...the Army Cantonment in Ibadan would have been a better place to stay compared to his household...
