From my salary, I pay about 15% as tax to the government monthly.
When I make certain purchases, stay over in hotels, make flight bookings, shop for groceries, I still pay taxes - consumption tax, VAT, state tax...

Most Nigerians I know pay tax.

And we don’t even have a say on most of these taxes - they are either deducted from source or they are simply not optional.
Yet, I can’t say my life has improved significantly in comparison to my tax deductions and that of million others.
Light - we still don’t get 24 hour power supply.
Highways - the roads are a nightmare.
Security - still not guaranteed.
Public Healthcare - mostly inefficient.
Public Education - mostly poor.

But I pay tithe...voluntarily.
A minimum of 10% of my income.
I pay offering...voluntarily.
Nobody forced me to pay these.
I give to Kingdom projects.
My church decides to build an edifice that I am proud of...fully complete with AC, waste disposal system, public toilets and other things my government can’t even seem to get right (even at airports - our gateway to the nation!)

My church builds a worship center where I am free from distractions and I can communicate freely with God.

I don’t pay for anointing services that expand my territory; for communion services that perfect my healing and activate my consciousness for eternal life; for worship programmes that take me to the ThroneRoom of the Master; or for prayer sessions that unlock the mysteries of life and the Kingdom.

No, I don’t pay for illumination or direction in any area of my life...Jesus is the LIGHT...as taught in my Church from the Bible.
I am not confused about direction or purpose...Jesus is the WAY!
My health is intact and when I have a scare and I need someone to pray with/for me...my Pastor gladly steps up and takes authority...charging nothing...because God wishes above all things that I be in health.
I have enjoyed covenant security at no cost.

Week in, week out, God (through the Church and my Pastors) blesses me...yet my government fails me at every turn!

Dear Activist,

What exactly have you done to hold government accountable for the taxes they receive but can’t fix the basics of standard living?

Faulty reasoning! Do you pay your tithes in expectation of tangible rewards? Tithes was never a guarantee towards upliftment or making heaven, it was never meant as a gate pass towards all the good things in life. God does not operate like the government, he is not tied down by elected bureaucracy. You pay taxes because it is dictated by the government, the benefits you reap from paying taxes should be the same as everyone who pays his or her taxes but tithing does not work that way. You pay tithes and you attribute the tangible rewards to it, does it mean those who pay taxes and are still living in poverty cursed? Are they serving a different God? If paying tithes=rewards, shouldn't it be the same reward for everyone? I mean when we look at your write-up critically it just does not make sense, the relationship between your cause and effect is weak!

Thank u. Coming from so called Christians. Maybe their pastor will be proud but if God reads our comments or post would HE clap for us as displaying high values of a Christian.quoteor=lamidebaby post=73677375]I'll probably never get what people's obsession with this tithe thing is undecided
if you believe in it, pay it. if you don't, don't. Do we always have to resort to name calling and insulting others who choose not to share our convictions? can't we just live and let live?

All I see is just someone trying to make a living; it's clear that he was paid to say that during the so called comedy.

Obviously, you're biased....
If daddy freeze make a derrogative comment about men of God, it is always right in our view and he wasn't paid to do so..but with this mild verbal attack from akpororoh, you mind told you , he was paid...
What a foolish way of thinking...

Do these guys willing to die for tithe argument really understand the fact that Jesus aka Issa was not a Christian?

Please how can someone who wasn't a Christian in his days have anything to do with paying tithe to your pastor?

This is why that man said he is dangerously rich.
Such statement coming from a supposed man of God.
Jesus was not a Christian. People lack common sense sha.

The government came from human innovation(Dictatorship, Royals, Democracy, Communism etc), God never gave a commandment to rule other humans, he just said "be", how you choose to be is up to you....lol

I sincerely believe Wizkid sings better than that cracked voice Davido, even though I love them both. But I believe Daddy Freeze is not an Anti Christ. I guess you hate Daddy Freeze so much you have to use small letters to type his names while you used capital letters to begin the names of Wizkid and Davido.

Well if you condemned Daddy Freeze for listening to circular musicians like Wizkid and Davido and for that singular reason he is an Anti Christ, I disagree. Maybe then we can call those pastors that invite Apororo who is a worldly comedian to minister, and Timi Dakolo who isn't a gospel musician to minister as Anti Christ too. Plain and simple.

I weep for our yoot...
If someone can still be reasoning like this.. I think the future is doomed already...

It's pretty obvious this one's a bonehead.
We all look but see differently; what you depict you who you are.
If something is not intended as sarcasm but it hits as one; it's yourself to deal with. Things are pure to those who are themselves pure.
Freeze's message is not intended to crumble any church but to enlighten it's congregant or intended congregant, how ever you see it that is.
Talk like this comes from one who's selfish, who's less concern about the growth and prosperity of his brother. A jester? Jeez!!! Wait, I forgot! His being paid for his temporary performance, only to tickle ones emotions to laughter, then what?
Empty vessel looking for daily bread. Don't poke your nose where you don't belong.

You want to eat your cake and have it cheesy

You are putting yourself in the bondage of the law that Jesus got cursed just to set you free from. And now, you still want the grace even though you want to remain under the law.

Do you know why Christ was cursed for our sake?

It is because the Law was like a curse, a bondage. There is no freedom. It is either you keep it (pay your tithe) or suffer the curse that comes with the law (the devourers of crops).

But Christ left the luxury of heaven and became wretched (human and mortal) so that we can be rich (have eternal life). He took upon himself the curse of the law and liberated us.

But you people want to continue to make a mockery of his sacrifices by remaining under the bondage of the law.

And the most annoying thing is that you want to play smart. You want to tithe but don't want to keep the other laws. Even the tithing procedures are regarded as unimportant by you people.

Read Galatians 3 stop misquoting the Scripture.

Galatians 3 vs

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Christ redeemed us from the law, why
That the blessings of Abraham may come on the gentiles.

Notice we are redeemed to receive Abraham's blessings

But Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedek 400years before the law.

Tithe predates the law

Which of the teachings of Christ is he against or anti?

Some food for thought.....Come to think of it, since Christ never mentioned or teached about tithe, don’t you think that the label of ‘anti-christ’ appropriately depicts those currently teaching what he didn’t teach?

A lot.
His relationship to his partner is anti Christ.
His attacks against even church while he goes against his principle.
His beer stance is epic.
There is more which I know you have, but I will hold on.
Every thing,he talks is a twisted interpretation of, the Bible.
He is not communicating love but hate and anger.

Now many are responding to his twist mind unlike time past where the church keeps silent and allow it to pass.
Let him answer and let continue. To watch

When one is confuse about something, what is required is for the fellow to humble himself and ask aright.

Before Jacob (Israel) tithe has been existing (1 tenth).
Now, when the Law of God came, Levite's were separated and they had no inheritance like other tribes and there were commands to bring some things to them including tithe.
That tithe is different from the 1 tenth.

The message of tithe is straight and simple.

Humans has two major division as bible says, Flesh and Spirit.
Flesh argues in favour of flesh and earthly things.
Spirit argues in favour of spiritual and eternal things.

From ones speech, people that has discernment will know which is talking.

Remember Jesus said in Luke 16:11 If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?

Remember also that when you die, the same flesh that is arguing against the truth will rothen here and the spirit will move to God for Judgement.

I wish u and others can understand truth.
The whole thing happening in this world is pointing to something yet we cannot read sign.

Eyes are closed, understanding is dull, ears are deaf and reasonings are flawed.

May God reveal truth to sincere seekers.
Grace to you

Thank you!

Daddy Freeze may be alot of things but he is far from being the antichrist. And his choice of Davido over Wizkid is not relevant to the conversation at hand. My view is the choice of tithing is a personal one. The one that tithes should not rub it in the face of the one that doesn't and vice versa. Different Pastors and Individuals have different ways they choose to interpret the bible, no one has a monopoly over the understanding of its contents.

There is so much more we can be as Christians in the world today. There are burning issues that affect our churches and our societies that we can take the opportunity to debate about with fervour. For me, this tithing business is simply not one of it.

It's a win win for Akpororo and the church.

Some even act like the taxman is knocking on their door when you go to their house on Sunday.

So many youths don't even go anymore, no job and the little money that they've they're expected to "tithe" from it.

Tithe is foodstuffs and meat meant to feed the poor and Levites but in Nigeria tithe is meant to buy diesel,Ac and whatever excuses this church fanboys and girls come up with.

With this, you really do not know about church

Daddy freeze may be a bit uncouth and a chatterbox, but it is interesting to note that for every opinion or objection he has raised on this his fight against modern Christianity he has quoted passages off the Bible to back them.

While out mega pastors and their defenders keep attacking his person, forgetting to quote directly from the same scripture that is supposed to be the guide to Christianity.

Let those who have ears hear.
