A State or Public University is funded by US government is called as State University or Public University. It will receive full or part of funding from the State Govt. It may receive funds from Tuition, fee and Alumni. Some facts about US State Universities.

1) Tuition, fee is less at State Universities.
2) Scholarship Opportunities are good when compared to private universities.
3) In some states all govt funded universities form the state forming a system and they offer coursed at different locations in the state. Students can transfer one of those universities to another university in the system easily. Example: Texa A&M University.

Hmm. Deep sigh. So true. Why have something that isn't working? The solution would be to sell it off quick.
Analogy is this:
1. Public Universities are not working (because of dearth of funds) so sell them off.
2. Public hospitals are not working (because of funds and inadequate staffing) so sell them off.
3. The country is not working (because of funds meant for development being stolen, leadership and followership issues) so sell it off. Use the money to buy what ails it.
We now see the direction of thought. We will be 'Thinking' as advised.

This loquacious senator should have used his common sense to lobby and mobilise his colleagues in NASS to improve the condition of public universities, which give affordable education to middle to low income families.

So why single out the education sector to be privatized where nothing else works? Can we also privatize the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police? Even when you get the job, how much are employers of labor paying? Fresh graduates in the payroll of govt don't earn more than 45k/month; other private firms pay average of 60-80k. Only a few pay better. Imagine if we pay school fees as much as millions of naira annually with student loan. How long do you think it can be paid off?
