A cars performance depends on thousands of factors.
So don't think cheap or expensive oil will have an effect on other Aspects of the vehicle.

Don't mind them my brother.. Let them use any oil they want .. I was lucky enough to come across this lovely C 240 .. Before buying it. I research it on nairaland the cons of C240. People were mostly saying it is expensive to maintain.. Spoke to the owner, he said just use the Mobil 1 oil 5w30 or 0w40 .. If you look at the tip hood of the car ,you will see the Mobil 1 sign ..still Nigerians will ignore it and use something else . And complain that the car is not good .. At least if you going to use something different, u either use the same quality as Mobil or use something better like Royal Purple... but if you tell them ,they will think is because you sell that product..
My 03 civic on Uber, has been using the 5k Naira oil now ..the car seems to be going strong for now ..but in the back of my head I know the car will soon pack up ..due to low quality oil. By the time it packs up I go sell am .. My other civic now will be using extended performance and Fram oil filter.. Quality oil prolongs the life of the engine and coolant too .. Funny enough it was even me that help bring the importance of coolant .

My brother cheap oil will do damage to your car ...go and try it on a G wagon Benz or newer advance models cars .. Please let us be honest with ourselves... I am not saying that Mobil oil is the best oil o , or you have to use it .. But use something that at least it is up there with the best of the best .. Do you think I will use Mobil oil extended performance on a $250k car ..hello no bro I will use something better than that now ....unless the car manufacture recommends it .. Honest truth I will use Royal Purple oil ..

Yes! Comprehensive history report was gotten and even a comprehensive scan was done which only gave two faults regarding AFS and AC.

The transmission didn't show sign prior driving it within city except when it was put on higher speed on the highway.

When it broke down on the highway, it was towed to somewhere not far where a transmission oil of N16,000 was used to top it up.

It was detected to be leaking profusely and didn't pick up. It was towed back to the city where it was detected that the gear was previously

worked on say in oversea when dismantled.

The buyer although still spent N225,000 to fix the gear but still had to take it to the dealer for some say minor faults detected and reported earlier to be fixed. But the said dealer is making it look like the buyer is just trying to put the whole blame on him although the deal of the car was based on TRUST between both party.

From what I understand from your post.. You said cheap oil or expensive oil does not determine the performance of a car .. I said it does o . Do we have other factors yes we do .. But for sure cheap oil will definitely affect the negative performance of your car. Good oil or expensive oil will prolong your engine...

That period my cars was not under my full control.. This is when I had a bad stealing no good fleet manager .. During that period all my cars were having problems . If you can recall I posted sludge issues that I had. And I had to find out why my cars were having sludge issues ..
Than I now switched to Mobil 1 USA .. Some cars were able to survive the abuse, and some didn't. The civic was able to survive it for now ,now would I feel comfortable driving the civic outside Lagos? " HELL NO" .. The civic is likely on its last leg,due to cheap oil and not following the manufacture advice. But my newer civics are now extended performance oil ,just waiting for coolants to arrive
