I have a friend who used a nigerian used 05 accord I4 (2.4L) for taxify back then. Even though the vehicle's ground clearance was a lil low, he actually made some money during the first 3months of usage - until the transmission failed. He replaced it only for the engine to fail a month later (the Accord was an abused unit with a surprisingly clean interior and exterior, i have a feeling that the back light of the check engine symbol was disabled because all thru this period.. The check engine light didn't light up for once). He got frustrated, replaced the engine and got rid of it. He's presently using an Acura TSX with a 2.4L engine, his only major complaint so far is the low ride height. The TSX uses the same 2.4L engine of the 05 USDM Accord - the main difference is that it generates 200hp+ and is tuned to use premium fuel. My personal observation; it seems hondas and acuras made in japan have better quality control and therefore give fewer issues. All the hondas and acuras that have transmission and excess engine oil consumption issues seem to have one thing in common; they were mostly made in north America.

Pls I need help.. I entered a taxify from VI to Ikoyi... When I came down from the taxi it dawned on me that I have left my phone in the car. My Number is now switched off. How can I contact the taxify driver coz all the info I need is in my phone and I am leaving lag tomorrow. Cheers

You can do two things...
1. Cancel Ur tomorrow trip then go to taxify office. With your fone number they can access Ur account and get the driver's details.

2. When you get to Abuja, visit their office and lay same complain...

Even if it's a tokunbo?

Chuwaa:

I did use one. Worst car for Uber.
All your bushings will go, your ball joints will follow if you enter bad areas. You'll be changing your stabilizer linkage per month if you hate noise.

Then as per 2.4l engine, its not all very fuel efficient.

If its a personal car, you'll use all your earning to put it back in shape,
If it's purposely for Uber, prepare for its burial soon.
Run for your life!

I use EOD and I can tell you not try it, Uber/Taxify kills the car faster than Nigerian Economy, I use mine coz it's a personal car, I reject trips a lot, and I don't work all the time, I work 3 times a week, and if I hear any sound am done for the day mechanic straight, infact I visit mechanic anytime I stress the car out. Like visiting iyana ipaja and agege lakwe, ijegun, ejigbo, anytime I go to those areas, my car pays for it

Hello Guys

Been reading and amazed at different UBER/TAxify chronicles of Lagos drivers. So i drive on Uber in Abuja with over 1400 trips now and relocating back to lagos for some reasons. I plan to drive again for 6months or less. Now, I need information about driving in lagos, documents required, hotspot areas, no-go areas, what to do, what not to do etc. I hear Lagos drivers remit 30k weekly. Well, Abuja is between 25k to 30k and I achieved this easily sometimes before Friday. Now is Lagos the same, whats the surge pricing like? Also in Abuja, only taxify riders gave me problems because the fares are cheaper. is the case the same in lagos? I currently drive on both but i think I prefer only Uber even at their 25%. I would like to know all these details.nb. I was born and raised in Lagos, only relocated back to Abuja. Also is there a drivers WhatsApp or telegram group in Lagos, someone hook me up. Thanks and have a great day

i personally won't recommend it though. A toks might last longer before it's issues become prominent but ultimately ur suspension will go to hell first. Ur ultimate acid test will be the lagos rainy season.
