Kamale stated that 97 percent of IDPs in the state have since returned to their homes stressing the need to guarantee their security to enable them to vote

How and where did the Honourable member arrive at that percentage?
Does he have the list of displaced persons in his constituency or from wherever he's giving out figures?

Is it the responsibility of INEC to provide security for IDPs or the Honourable member has forgotten the duties or its just pre-election fever?
Re: 2019: IDPs in Niger, Chad to vote, says INEC by FemiMaduka(m): 7:09am On Dec 13, 2018
This will get messy. If IDPs in Chad and Niger would vote, then Nigerians in Europe and The Americas should also request to vote. After all they are mostly economic fugitives, students and other professionals whose remittances - running into $billions - have actually been keeping the Nigerian economy from wobbling out of total control.

We have not been able to -- or say a certain group is benefiting from the status quo -- check the interference of Malians, Chadians, Nigeriens and co in our national censuses, identification efforts and elections, how much more if we preposterously stage a Nigerian election within Nigerien and Chadian territories. Nothing credible would come out of this!

If the North and southerner protectorate weren't amalgamated in 1914 maybe there wouldn't be problem now.
Re: 2019: IDPs in Niger, Chad to vote, says INEC by naunasabi: 7:10am On Dec 13, 2018
Point of correction they can't be IDPs if they are outside Nigeria. They are refugees. IDPs are people displaced within their own country. In which case he is referring to people from Chad and Nigeria voting in Nigeria election.

I guess the rigging as be perfected. Refugees in Nigeria and Chad can vote but no Nigerians in diaspora? grin

Nigerians in other overseas countries are indirectly in IDP camps there too; because Buhari's bad economic policies chased them away. INEC should extend same forms to Nigerians in China, Gabon, Benin Rep., Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Cameroun and Togo.
INEC is obviously sympathetic of Buhari and I pity them if things backfire.

No.

He is not alone. Be assured of that.

Anyway, the minority will have their say while the majority (including IDPs in Chad & Niger) must have their way.

2019: IDPs To Vote In 15 States – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday said it had made special provisions for Internally Displaced Persons outside Nigeria to vote in the forthcoming general elections scheduled for 2019.

The commission also stated that specially designed forms would be deployed at the polling units of the affected communities.

The chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, stated these in Abuja during the stakeholders validation conference on the framework for IDPs voting jointly organised with the International Foundation for Electoral Support.

He assured that, “IDPs in the neighbouring countries of Niger and Chad who left their abode due to insurgency in the North East would not be denied their voting rights.”

But a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adamu Kamale, who representing Michika/Madagali federal constituency of Adamawa state differed with the INEC chairman.

Kamale stated that 97 percent of IDPs in the state have since returned to their homes stressing the need to guarantee their security to enable them to vote.

“I can confirm to you that 97 percent of IDPs in Adamawa have since returned home. But the only challenge they have is that of security. Their security needs to be guaranteed in order to enable them vote in the elections”, he said.

Kamale, therefore, urged INEC to commit to ensuring proper security in the North East so that the people will not be disenfranchised.

See thier plan. Why just Niger and Chad? What about economic IDPs all over the world? No wonder there is unholy alliance and allegiance to Niger and Chad. We never build all the roads inside Nigeria, they are building one going to Niger. They consider Nigeriens closer to them than southerners

If you people had brains to think in the first place, you all would know that the present levels of suffering were brought about by the serial misgovernance and gross mismanagement of our resources by the same damned incompetent looters you are seeking to re-enthrone angry

INEC is missing something here, Nigerians will only accept this their proposal IF ONLY they will extend the voting to every Nigerians in diaspora, I mean every countries around the world.......

If not, they should forget about it because election may be too close to make such serious changes, which is similar excuse the president is giving to sign the amended electoral bill...

Hopefully, Nigeria will get it right someday, but strong political will power to do the right thing will play an important role to achieve transparent, credible, free and fair elections in Nigeria.
Re: 2019: IDPs in Niger, Chad to vote, says INEC by Reference(m): 8:24am On Dec 13, 2018
I thought INEC turned down diasporan voting a while ago. So what happened. Now if displaced Nigerians in Niger and Chad can vote what about those displaced to Benin. Togo and Ghana. What about those displaced to South Africa, Malaysia and the United States.

This is not fair, equitable and does not show that these agencies are impartial neither independent... so sorry for this country.

Reading some of you guys comments at times makes me to laugh, if you know the kind of corruption that is going on under this administration you will be marvelled I believe you know it but just want to play ignorant, I'm not saying pdp are Saint but that of apc is worst. Your so called Saint buhari what has he done to those that were found wanting in his administration or do you want me to mention them. Nigeria has gone into recession 2 times in its history and they were all under buhari administration both in 1983 and then 2016, what those that tell you. Nigeria is the way it is because of the bad economic decisions this failed administration has made.

This is not the crux of the matter. Infact, u introduced a whole new line to the argument.

The electoral system is in jeopardy and the electoral umpire says those whom were displaced by insecurity in the north should vote even without having a PVC. And here you are, cheering on the very sad development that can be used against you in future.

This is a clear case of being shortsighted and not thinking outta the box. The PDP like u said brought hardship to Nigerians. Permit me to ask if PDP is a human that, @ so point, ruled Nigeria?

U see, it would be best to call out those who messed up the system by their names. I guess u haven't thought about it this way.

By the way, using your own standard of judgment, the poorest people in the world are Nigerians today. I guess it's just nice saying the APC brought such economic and financial misery to Nigerians.

Your claims about hatred for the president holds no water. U may keep supporting the very evil strategy that keeps a vast majority of you all dead but walking.

Tetehjewels:
So 97% of IDPs even in Adamawa Atikus state have returned home under PMB?

This means PMB is doing well and Adamawa people will appreciate him with their votes.

It was PDP that sent these 97% out of their homes with their nonchalant attitude towards boko haram but the seriousness of PMB has brought them back home.

Atiku will not win his own state
Then y is INEC going 2 chad&Niger 2 hustle 4 vote of d remaining 3%? After removing children, u will end up with maybe 1.5%. In d course of running 4 their lives, is INEC saying, these refugees who are mostly illiterates remembered 2 collect their voters cards?
