Unverified data. You didn't specify how much body works cost after plying the fantastic roads leading to the East. Is it the tire and wheels that are often change after each trip? Suspension, struts, shocks, break pads nko cos of BAD roads?
Better park well....
. It takes 9 hrs to reach gombe on a clear as day good road while it takes 9-10 hour to enter Opi Nsukka on a good day.

From Enugu town to damaturu is just 8,600.

Did the roads get bad this season. The astronomical hike n transport fare during the celebrations is disheartening and should be condemned. Impression, when the usual fuel scarcity excuse is non existent this year.

What the op highlighted is just so sadden. That's while other fellow country men see the Igbo's as money mongers. This trend should stop pls. When it comes to money cautions are thrown away which shouldn't be so. People should be encourage to travel by maintaining the normal T-fares and not the other way round pls.

The roads has always been bad and there have never been a time when the road leading to the east from anywhere in this country is good or adequate.
. During the seasonal celebrations, there are increased vehicular traffics which when coupled with the bad roads leads to so many accidents and car wrecks. Increasing the fares albeit reasonably is a crude way of insuring the driver's means of livelihood.

I think the major reason is because they mostly have to return empty after dropping passengers in the east and so they increase the cost to at least compensate for the empty return journey. Check how much it is to travel from the east to the north in this Christmas season, you'll see it's far less.

That's is the norm, works all the time. Increase in demand, supply remains same, price hikes. Its not an Igbo law.

Even here in Lagos, you know how danfo increases their fares when there are no buses and so many passengers
