iblawi: Actually it's obvious to all who's mudslinging here. I coined the term The Buharist. It is now pervasive by people like you whose emotions blind them to the facts. Emotions can't tell fiction from facts, impossible. Mr Buharist I live in Nigeria. An objective assessment devoid of ethnic and religious sentiments is that things are worse off now than they were 4 years ago. And this cuts across all sectors of the economy which affects both rich and poor. I hear your cousin talking of an economy that benefits the rich in urban centers forgetting that if private enterprise is allowed to thrive with the right governmental policies it drives growth across board which translates to more money in the pocket and with more money in the pocket people's spending power increases which in turn translates to better living standards that contributes positively to your human development index(HDI) something which has collapsed across the board under this administration. A commoner once told me "we have since past this stage of hunger in Nigeria" referring to how bad things are in Nigeria under Buhari. You want the reality go on the street and find out the facts not rant here on nairaland without any evidence to back up your claims rather condescend to bitter insults. That a recession happened twice in Nigeria is a fact and happened under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari as Head of State and President. That tells the mentality of the man. Six months into this administration I publicly stated I'll never talk again about this government because it will amount to nothing. And I was proven right. You are living an Alice in Wonderland Story if you delude yourself further. In the current Nigeria my personal support to certain families have increased because of joblessness thus affecting my own estate. You think sentiments make great nations! Nigeria will forever be a moribund state because of people like you who will support mediocrity over competence because of the language a man speaks. Look at the analysis following Peter Obi and Yemi Osinbajo debates and you see ethnicity coming to the fore from those defending different positions when everyone knows clearly who won that debate. Don't tell me about economic matters as clearly you know nothing. Right now as we speak there's no electricity and that alone is enough reason not to vote the man back in power that's how it's done in saner climes. A people is only as good as its leadership. You get what you vote in and don't come complaining rather make a change at the next balloting and be free. 4 Likes |

Maduawuchukwu: It is your low standard of education that is making you think this way. OBJ did not do jack for GSM. Nigeria was already getting GSM from Abacha era. GSM came from global corporate market entry strategies by ECONET, MTN and so on. They visit ignorant people that you worship called politicians convince them with brochures and get support. That's how a company's market entry starts, Even if a monkey was in Aso Rock, GSM would have come. IGNORANCE !!! To say that OBJ brought improvement in IT penetration. The most clueless statement OBJ ever made in his life was on the importance of IT. The guy had no clue. He said he had no interest in the internet and the only downloading he was interested in was downloading "into people's stomachs". It was widely reported in the papers. Maybe your education groomed you to worship politicians and praise them for the technical vision, inventiveness and entrepreneurship of others but that is an inferior state of existence. You need to stop these immature lies about the PDP being a party of smart, competent but corrupt people. They are corrupt alright but they are not smart. They did nothing in government for 16 years. The Western countries who were supporting them turned against them. They killed their own party members. And finally they lost the last elections. As we speak now that party has no intellectual arm. Their manifesto is 50% of APC's in different wordings and the stupid idea about selling NNPC. If they want to criticise the APC govt today it would be FFK, Fayose, Bruce or Reno tweeting or saying things that a low IQ secondary school student would be ashamed to say. The party can't even make up its mind about Jubril Al Sudaini....but they still listened to his budget speech and booed him as Muhammadu Buhari anyway. Stupid party. The Nigerians with real brains are looking at ACPN, YPP and others for quality opposition 2 Likes |

Covert1: BIG LIES popping. I keep saying the median IQ in Nigeria is low that is why people pass on FALSEHOOD like a relay race.. They told you Buhari caused recession twice and you just brainlessly repeated it. What is a "recession" and what does the word "cause" mean?. A recession is three quarters of negative GDP growth and it is usually not caused by the administration voted in to solve the problem. 2014 recession cause = PDP (Goodluck Jonathan) Buhari caused no recession in 1983. NPN caused the recession of 1983. No knowledgeable person is denying it. We were saddled with short term debt by NPN looters and suddenly oil price came down to $9 a barrel. Banks were not honouring our L/Cs. One NPN minister (Umaru Dikko) was responsible for bringing imported rice into Nigeria in a value equal to the entire foreign exchange earnings for 6 months. All petroleum exporting countries felt the shock of oil price crash . The situation that caused 1983 economic recession for Nigeria was the same as in we saw in 2014 - an import dependent economy, a weak and stupid President in power, looting by members of the ruling party and BOOM.. poverty. 1983 recession cause = NPN (Shehu Shagari) Nigeria has an economy dependent on one international product. That is the problem. We know Buhari has improved AGRO exports by 300% and is bringing down rice imports. What will also help is massive INFRASTRUCTURE construction being done that will not only improve internal economic efficiency but also bring service sector jobs. Railways, their terminals and connecting transportation is a good example of service sector jobs. The great danger us that technology is wiping out jobs globally. All jobs are under threat. If you want to solve Nigeria's problem, do public infrastructure and get a lot of small holders doing farming. Atiku and his crooked/scared shitless team (They are all owing banks or have EFCC cases) don't just have a clue. If I build a factory today, it will take 10 times LESS manpower than three years ago. Technology is wiping out jobs fast.Jobs are dying. Jobs are dying. Jobs are dying. Get your heads screwed on right. For you office bound, semi idle, non innovative urban dwelling middle class, your problems are many and it is NOT Buhari. You need paradigm shift. Artificial Iintelligence is here and your job will disappear. Not may dusappear, WILL DISAPPEAR. It is not an insidious threat. It will suddenly happen and the global billionaires pouring money into the Industry 4.0 technologies, AI, et.c don't give a damn that you were too weak to feed yourselves under PDP or run your scrappy refineries. THERE IS A LARGER, MORE OMINOUS GLOBAL CONTEXT THAT WILL DEVELOP BETWEEN 2021 UPWARDS. I see nothing in PDP manifesto about re-skilling, about small holder agric, small holder AGRO processing, renewable energy. They want to repeat the mistake of 2010 in 2019. It will hurt. Everybody use your head. We are already seeing that tradesmen - auto mechanics, electricians and plumbers are doing better than office-based, fixed income pen pushers who can no longer steal money due to Buhari reforms but from 2021, even that your job is going. A courageous, truth seeking person eill see that all Buhari is doing is setting the economy on a sound footing with some temporary hardship. He himself has admitted that there is hardship. My addition to that is whoever taught you there is progress without hardship has destroyed your life. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

It's an amusing thing that some Nigerians are now beginning to criticize claims with dialectics. When a man makes claims of how food stability, economy, employment, security, health etc have gotten better under him when it is well evident that this is just not false, it is also diametrically opposing to the reports from local and international monitoring agencies, then you realize that you are the subject of state funded propaganda, alternative facts and outright falsehoods. If not for the Ambassador of Thailand to Nigeria, who refuted the rice claims, Audu Ogbeh would have had us believe that Nigeria had produced so much rice, many rice mills in Thailand had packed up. Claims as this and many others differ from records, such as the FAO's. If you have any premium for your education, you will research every claim you are battered with, whether it confirms your preconceived bias or not. Good luck Nigeria, you will surely need it. 4 Likes |
