He should have found a way to get support. The Western world do the right thing by either calling the cops or seeking support from some other person(s).

Someone trying to steal is already desperate enough. He would do anything to escape. The victim should have sought support or avoided direct confrontation with the thief.

Is not all the time people seek support of the cops. Instinct take over many times and they have a go at rapers, criminals. Even in the Western world, cops dont show up many times especially not what they dimmed are petty criminals

In my post, I gave two options: call the cops or seek for support.

Instinct, most of the time, makes us back off from someone holding a weapon.
