Well, that was his own personal opinion. December 25 was chosen partly because no one knows the exact date of Christ birth, also because after 25th the world experience longer days, i.e ... the light(CHRIST) entering into the world (jn 1:4-5), partly also to convert the The Roman sun worshipers whom believe that the sun god is the light of the world & usually had their festive on 25th dec. And i know that heaven rejoice over their repentance (Lk 15:7) and it worth celebrating just like the return of prodigal son(LK 15:31-32). In my own case i celebrate christmass because i believe that Christ Jesus is the light of the world (jn 8:12 & jn 9 :5). God made me in his own image image (gen 1:27), in his image am like a light to the world (mat 5:14-16) therefore its my duty to make peace, visit the imprisoned, help the poor, made Christ manifest in whatever i do. I also belive in the sunday sabbath(the first day of the week) because its the day Christ resurrect, penticost, light was made(gen 1:3) and the apostles observe it as its in Acts 20:7 and 1cor 16:2. I have no business with son god. I am in CHRIST JESUS.

freezer abi na cooler Don misfire this time..

Origin of Christmas was not linked to Nimrod but with the Roman sun god Mithras, abi wetin called, whom the church of Rome or Roman Catholic church in consonace with newly pagan Roman King convert, supplicated the celebration of the birth of Christ.

So the error was made and many ignorant believers and church leaders have continued to treat the day as such.

300 or more years after his death neither is direct disciples now apostles ever observed this.

Everyone has one thing or another to say, brought out from the same internet..

This is how u get misled. if u go through the bible, there is never a place where it is written to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ. I am a Christian and an ardent celebrant of this day but we all as Christians still have to rethink. we never can tell the outcome of this celebration. it could b dat we are celebrating an idle. Maybe all the whole world who celebrate xmas are not right? World aids day, malaria day, etc should equally not be celebrated. Rejoice with those who are rejoicing. Mourn with those who are mourning.

I hope you know Tyson's Tweet is sarcasm?

Isaac Newton was born January 4, 1643, which translates to December 25, 1642 in the old style Julian calendar used by Britain at that time to the Gregorian calendar. So, what he's saying is that a real person by name Isaac Newton was born today and he changed the world by age 30.

He understands very well that Jesus is fiction.

This argument about the origin of Christmas should not be ignored.what many Christians believe is that it's the celebration of the birth of Christ
But there was no evidence that early Christians and apostles celebrated it.
It was made popular by the Romans the have a reputation of paganism and the fact that the date coincides with the day of a pagan god makes it dubious.
If it's okay to celebrate your own birthday or that of your loved ones, why isn't it okay to celebrate your saviou; Christ the king? As for daddy freeze and the likes who keeps auguing about dates and who's been celebrated on 25th before now, it's a stupid augment. God created all days and as Christians, whenever we agree to celebrate any good thing, it's recognized in heaven(note the word agreement) unless it's against God's will. It is nemrod or those gods that daddy freeze are referring to that are in error because before anybody start worshipping them; there's God.

Is there anywhere in the world where people are forced to celebrate Christmas? If not, then Daddy Freezer or what did he called himself should shutup.
'I believe Christmas has been approved by God', if not show me a festival that is celebrated so much all over the world like Christmas.
So, whoever thinks that Christmas is 'ojuju' celebration, then the person should not celebrate or receive gift in the name of the season not even sweet.
Please, I think Daddy Freezer has no job (ise o ka lara).

All I know is that Christmas has come to stay and 'God has approved it' and whoever is not satisfy should go to third mainland and jump into the Lagoon.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THOSE THAT BELIEVE IN THE SEASON.

Don't mind the clown. Let him keep on celebrating as if he's originally birthed today - if it's not something else they are celebrating.
If it's generally accepted and passed on from generation to generation doesn't make it right.
We will still be here when his salvation comes.

Hate him or like him he asked some questions that deserve answers. That Christmas has been celebrated long before now does not make it right if not supported by the bible. Now I am not saying the bible does not support it as I have limited knowledge regarding this.

Sorry Freeze or whatever your name is you have asked the wrong people those intelligent questions. You have asked a bunch of unintelligent people who cant reason with their brain except my pastor or prophet said this or that.

But a question should be asked - how do we develop as a nation with the way most Nigerians think. Very low IQ individuals everywhere. Someone asked some very vital questions and you can see people's responses.

Nimrod (/ˈnɪmrɒd/;[1] Hebrew: נִמְרוֹדֿ, Modern: Nīmrōd, Tiberian: Nīmrōḏ, Aramaic: ܢܡܪܘܕ‎, Arabic: النمرود‎ an-Namrūd), a biblical figure described as a king in the land of Shinar (Assyria/Mesopotamia), was, according to the Book of Genesis and Books of Chronicles, the son of Cush, therefore the great-grandson of Noah. The Bible states that he was "a mighty hunter before the Lord [and] .... began to be mighty in the earth".[2] Extra-biblical traditions associating him with the Tower of Babel led to his reputation as a king who was rebellious against God.

Attempts to match Nimrod with historically attested figures have failed. Nimrod may not represent any one personage known to history, and in reality is more likely a conflation of several real and fictional figures of Mesopotamian antiquity, including the Mesopotamian god Ninurta, the Akkadian kings Sargon and his grandson Naram-Sin (2254–2218 BCE), and Tukulti-Ninurta I (1243–1207 BCE) of the Middle Assyrian Empire.

Biko nu the Nimrod was a mighty hunter before the Lord....daddy freezer you failed this one

But you also failed, because your second paragraph is contradictory, suggesting Nimrod historically never existed and the idea of him was a conflation of several legendary or mythical people

EVERYTHING about Christianity comes from pagan origin, not just christmas.

Europeans were not originally Christian. Christianity entered Europe officially because Emperor Constantine made a deal with christian warriors in the region of today's Syria, Palestine, Turkey, North Africa, Libya, Algeria, Iraq, Iran, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, etc, to fight on his side to defeat his opponent in a war. The said region were the first and original christians. The condition was for those pagan practices to be made official and be allowed to continue to worship their pagan Gods as christians.

The Christians accepted the deal, fought on his side and Constantine won in the war against his opponent. Eventually, many pagan worshipers from India, the Balkans, Iraq, Iran, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Palestine, Libya, Algeria, middle east, north Africa, Europe, coalesced and became what we now call christianity. This is why the ORIGINAL christians in the mentioned region abandoned christianity and instead embraced Islam afterwards because they knew what happened.

Christianity is the ultimate pagan religion, its the ultimate worship of satan!.
