How about verifying online before going to collect? Instead of getting there n hearing those "stories", after you've sacrificed office wrk, family, business spent mch for trnsport or skipped class just to make it down. Abi? |

I think the location where you had it done also plays a role. I was renewing my international passport at Nigerian immigration Headquarters in Abuja and happened to see NIMC officials sitting there registering people for National ID card. I told myself, let me just kill 2 birds with one stone and apply. This was early 2013. Then sometime in 2016, I receive a text from NIMC telling me that my National Identification card is ready for pick up. I went back to where I applied and picked up my card. I did not have to pay a kobo neither during registration nor when I went to pick up the card. Other colleagues of mine who applied for their National ID card before me at other locations within Abuja had yet to get theirs. It's just God. |

It took them over 6 years to produce ID cards. They sent me text message on November 2018. The first day I went I couldn't collect because of network issues. I was able to collect it on March 2019, 6 Years after. I however noticed that it will expire on 2023. So funny |

cassyrooy:Interesting. Sounds a bit relieving. May I know what month of the year yhu n yhur friend did yhurs in 2013? I did a search for mine on their site to see if itz ready and I was told no result found for my search that mine is probably not ready and should check again tomorrow or later. Lol. I don't really know the implication of the result though. Well, I am hopeful bro. |

Rebuke:I enrolled on September 2013, while my guys did in March or so. Leave their website abegi na nonsense be that, after I got their text notifying me of my card awaiting collection, I logged on to their site to know further details but I still received the details not found message. It took 5yrs and 3months to give me my own, hope yours wouldn't exceed similar duration. |

Let's even leave Banks' ATM Cards, Let us compare Apples with Apples. Voters' cards are ready for pick-up in less that six months, If I am not mistaking, the procedure should not be different. It's obvious that we have selfish Politicians. Your National ID should be a document that tells the world about your origin. |

Can Someone Remind Me The Definition Of A Failed State Again? I Travelled All The Way From Yobe State To Register Mine In Imo State In 2015, I Am Expecting To Collect In In 2025. The Worst Of The Story Is That Banks Have Invalidated The Old Ones. I Cant Use Them For Any Identification Any longer. Out Of Anger I Dont Even Know Where I Flinged It To. FG Keep On Wasting Our Resources. National ID Could Have Serve As Voters Card. Why The Duplication? Is It Not The Same Information Supplied To NIMC That Was Supplied To INEC? Just Beause It Is Not To The Advantage Of Politicians, They Abandoned It For Years. Why Did Voter's Card That Was Registered Less Than 6 Months Ago Came Out So Fast? God Is Watching This Evil Doers. |

The NIMC is not even ashamed to admit that it has been able to print just over 300,000 national ID cards in six years which amounts to less the 1% of the country's population. How long will it take them to cover the entire country at this rate? I weep for Nigeria! |
