Compare Airlines with Airlines. How is Nigerian Airways doing in the ground down? Kenya Airways had a rough patch mostly due to bad bet on oil futures - but for a long time it was the most profitable Airline in Africa (if not the world). Which is why when it hit turbulences - her creditors and kenya gov - had no problem stepping in.

Kenya Airways is one of the most successful and consistently profitable airlines in Africa. The carrier has achieved five straight years of operating profits, as well as net profits over four of the past five years. In FY2010/11 (year ending 31-Mar-2012), the carrier reported a net profit of KES3.5 billion (USD42.6 million), improving significantly on the previous financial year.

Kenya Airways - The Pride of Africa - will soon return to profitability as it soars high. It SSA competitors have had rough patches too - Ethiopia Airline had it's trouble - and right now South Africa Airways survival is doubtful.

Let's say, it has a feelable share. Not like your 6 branch banks that nobody knows about with a combined market share of less than one yet you keep bragging how you own us.

Telkom is the third largest telecom in Kenya. Payne is owned by interswitch and 7million Kenyans are using their services. grin

my point is,why are Kenyans not able to charge of their country like us.

See their tea farms, their businesses, even their airport controlled by Indians, their ports.

If you eventually see any Kenyan businessman, its either that there is one government intervention or its owned partially by 10 or more people or so.
Just see their bank owned by Kikuyu's.In Nigeria, its hard to see government helping businesses like them.

They should get a life and start inventing something

Ok. I just wanted to make them know.

Guys,

Have you realized that U.S.A is making plans on how to hand Africa from China??

We are still modern slaves. U.S.A is trying to show support to African countries so they could turn their back to China. And also to became our new modern colonizer

Example- Abiy Ahmed is really smart, he has been collecting leaders on his side and opened up telecom, electric company and Airlines to foreign investors because he also knows U.S.A is going to help him out.

U.S.A is trying to take over China not beacuse they care of how Africa is being hurt by China but beacuse their economy is hurt due to China presence in Africa.

How do you guys take that? Rather than debating on who's country is better than whose, this is what we need to talk about.

Is China or U.S.A the biggest enemy of Africa? Do you think Africa will suffer more problem under U.S.A??

Deal with both with long spoon.

Lol, the rvp20183 is always speaking of a competitive market like Kenya but l'm yet to see the competition in their market, just 57 local companies to Nigeria's 192( about 3.5 times more)with Nigeria climbing so high in just about 20 years after military rule.

lol so you mean those Kenyan buildings posted by Nowenuse with such outrageous prices are also in pretty good condition?? l can post loads of moderate Nigerian buildings from my city warri alone, where the middle class/ lower middle class live and which are cheaper than those Kenyan slummish structures posted a while ago by Nowenuse.
ln my area in Effurun warri, decent 3 bedroom bungalows range from #(20 to 25)k monthly.

NairobiWalker is an irredeemable idiot who shamelessly argues for the sake of it.

genieluv showed him and other Kenyans the 3 bedroom apartment she lives in Abuja and how it costs 25k ($70) per month, they said she was lying. She showed them this picture below from an online source of a nice house in Abuja that cost 29k ($80) per month, then reasonable Kenyans like mtisTheQubit & t1ann accepted the truth, kept quiet and agreed, but the shameless NairobiWalker kept on foaming his mouth saying unreasonable things.

I mean, how helpless can the condition of a human beign be that you are shown true facts korokoro but yet you still argue and say rubbish? This was exactly the same thing he did early this year when I splattered his shameless self with online adverts of Nigerian houses and how cheap they were compared to Kenyan houses. He then shamelessly began to say that the Nigerian online house adverts were fake grin

Read this news report below directly from Kenya on how a man who lives in Nairobi laments on how he pays 10k shillings (35,000 naira) monthly for a one room apartment without ventilation (in those overcrowded concentration camp houses grin)

http://www.ghafla.com/crisis-how-housing-in-nairobi-has-become-a-nightmare-for-millions-of-city-dwellers/

People like KiberaWalker aka NairobiWalker live in slums like Kibera and have no idea how Kenya's middle class suffer poor housing.

Kenyans seriously need to fix that overpriced expensive slum riddled city they call Nairobi.

For God's sake how can someone get a decent 3 bedroom apartment in Nigerian cities for 25k naira ($69) monthly, but in Kenya one pays 35k naira ($100) monthly for a cubicle size 1 bedroom apartment without ventilation in a concentration camp house with thousands of tenants? God forbid ! Kenyans work and live to pay house rents with their salaries. Why won't millions of Kenyans live in the world's largest slums?

Cc genieluv2

Edited : Omg! @Daejoyoung
I re-read the link and now noticed that the house the Kenyan was complaining about in that link wasn't even a room and parlour (1 bedroom apartment) as I thought, it was a freakinng bedsitter (single room).... I really give up on Kenyans. I now pity them infact.

Daejoyoung:

l wonder why rent is expensive in Ghana, Kenya and Angola.

My brother, I just don't understand why a freaking developing nation should have such expensive houses. My friends who stay in Ghana lament how house rent finishes every money they get. ... It's just a pity sad
There are also very expensive houses in Abuja and Lagos, but the good thing about Nigerian cities is that there is always a decent neighbourhood to suit every pocket size in that same city you live in. Not everyone pays outrageous house rents. Infact majority of Nigerians do not.

IrokoTV channels are already on Dstv, so these ones are already in Kenya grin

With 100m and huge diaspora your banks are underperforming very badly.Ethiopia you need Jesus Christ or some miracle.I don't even know how to begin but public investment without private sector is hopeless.Such a shame to have country of thatch roofed houses with beggars all over when the tools to fight poverty are there.Open up the economy for private investment.Chinese and American generosity is running out thin and you'll be left on your own.

Who said that..you are that desperate.Kenya companies are all over the continent. Our massive regional expansion started in 90s competing against South Africa juggernaut that was also expanding..yours is barely 10yrs.For many years we have been the main source of foreign investment to East Africa.Ask the TZ idiot here. You expansion to Kenya is nothing but farcical and insignificant.Kenya is free economy that welcome investment worldwide.Just be a little smart about it.We give Nigerians 10yr business Visa if they are investing and free 1 month Visa on arrival if they are visiting. We are suprised you can't sign Free Africa Trade. What sort of giant are you.Nigerians are streaming in to enjoy semblance of a functional systems.
