I don't know for yoruba but anioma is totally edo by heritage with small igbo mix up which is not eveb that too obvious.

That doesn't make then edoid. Since they can't speak or understand bini. In as much as they bear igbo names, speak igbo direct and have similar cultural ties with igbos, they are still more igboid than edoid.

They don't belong anywhere. They're a distinct ethnic group.

OMA means good in Edo.

There dialects are mixture of Edo and Igbo same with their ancestry,culture..

How can this issue be resolved?

Paying allegiance doesn't mean the are from Benin (allegiance is just like being an American ally and it doesn't make you an american)

U keep shooting urself in the leg. Give us more prove to make anioma more edoid than igboid and I will list more reasons for showing that they are core igbo self. I was at iselle ukwu from 20th to 26th and all they speak is igbo. How come they don't speak bini since they are from edo? And I ask again, did igbo colonized them? Even u self that was colonized by Britain haven't lost ur language and culture. So why have many aniomas completely lost dia bini language for igbo?

My village shares boundary with igalla people we almost answer the same name but it's crystal clear that we are igbos and not igallas although we share the same ancestry. It's either the igbos and edos share the same ancestry or there is a mistake somewhere

Sometimes I wonder how u lots reason.....language is now a measure of how they are igbo...even hausa man in iselle uku speak igbo, even Benin man in iselle uku can speak....do that serve as a yardstick to call them igbos.

You don't just wake and move to a state and want to turn their history around to suit you...that is rubbish.

All these places are edo with little penetration of igbo history which is not that obvious but it doesn't change who they are and what they are.

You are the only one defending them when u are not even from there.....

You will feel disappointed when they tell u they are edoid.

Gets ur facts right.
