OK so let me narrate an experience I had. I'm a bit of a techie, enjoy looking at things and trying to solve them. So I had an Asus laptop that was a an old warrior. Never ever let me down until one day it just failed to turn on, tried every trick in the book. Nothing. Had to shamefully carry it to Otigba to those "engineers". I say shamefully because I always bragged that those technicians will not see my money, at least not from Laptop. After the "engineer" did is thing, bàbà declared that motherboard is bad.

But I wasn't convinced. Mobo's don't die like that. I went in the Internet and Googled as much as I could. One person complained of similar problems and that when he replaced his CMOS his laptop came back to life. Quickly I "butchered" the laptop (after watching a detailed YouTube teardown video). Found the CMOS battery and Lo it was empty, VERY EMPTY! (Don't ask how I tested it to know grin). Replaced the battery and lappy is doing fine now.

My point? Do your own research when you get these kind of problems. The solution may be smaller than you think.

I've NEVER heard of a mobo causing some keys not to work. This problem is consistent with a failing keyboard. If it's the mobo I'll expect the entire keyboard to fail

Your cmos ba3 is the first source of power on your motherboard with 3volt.

That's why when your motherboard is dead, the first area you check is your RTC section, this section have the RTCRST, RTC_VCC and secondary RTC.

To check this section, the best option is to use your cmos ba3 to get accurate measurements on your multimeter.

Well I don't want to go deep cos I might end up confusing you. tongue grin

Back to the keyboard issue, I believe he must have tried several keyboard on it and those keys are still not clicking, that's why the engineer said it a motherboard issue.

When it comes to this kind of fault even if you do your Google search, watch YouTube videos and you don't have the basic knowledge of chip level repair or the right tools, there is nothing you can do.

@ bolded, your keyboard is connected to your motherboard and data line send to sio chip, if a particular line is bad or the sio chip is bad, you will definitely get this kind of fault.

You have the transmitting and receiving line, check the pic below.
If any of that resistor is short, definitely some keys working on that line won't function.

...naaahh...grin grin ... I promise. I won't ask.

@ the bolded; true!.
Another case is when you press a letter, say "P" and it returns "P0"; "L" Returning "L7" together...even after several keyboard have been tried.

Like you said; his might just be minor keyboard replacement!

grin They didn't collect money afterall!!!...Your bragging badge is still intact.

That's what we call "escaping by the whiskers"

Things like that do happen but it is not common, there are some laptop fault that are not common. E.g laptop display well on adapter but when you remove the adapter and decide to use it on ba3, the display will dim.

Another one is it charge when you power it off but when you switch it on it will not charge.

Another one is laptop not displaying well, you will get a mixture of colors, you might think the flex or screen is bad not knowing its a motherboard issue. The transmitting and receiving line is bad.

Another one is laptop power on light is low, you might think it will work fine but the motherboard is dead even when the light is on, it will only work when the power on light is full.

Etc

Engineers in house, when I try to turn my laptop (Hp 630) on, d power light turns on, the fan turns, it does not display anything and then goes off automatically after like 50 seconds to 1minute. All the peripherals work during that brief period it is on. Please, what could be wrong with it?

Hello.

No doubt!!! This is malware and can harm your files and compromise security.

If you are on win 10, update it and watch it do some magic.

Otherwise, Re-install the OS.

*Cheers*

Thanks, but it's Win 7
It's stopped now after installing an antivirus but I'm still not sure if it's fixed

PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES OF YOUR FAVORITE APPLICATIONS

The most popular frontend coding languages include HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Java, PHP, Python, .Net are some of the languages used on the backend. One thing for sure is that you cannot create anything meaning without mastering some of these languages. Some programming languages are definitely more versatile than the others. JavaScript seems to be the most popular language for frontend development.

FACEBOOK: Many languages are used in Facebook but the major language for Facebook is PHP. Java, JavaScript, Python and C++ are also used in several other areas.

INSTAGRAM: Instagram is mostly written in Python. Specifically Instagram is not written in a single language. In the backend, we have: Django ( python framework – nginx web server in assistance), Celery, Redis & Cassandra, RabbitMQ, PostgreSql, Amazon s3 – for storing images, NodeJS – for Push notifications. Instagram uses Ubuntu Linux 11.04 as their operational system.
