The tail rotor of a helicopter is the Achilles heel of ALL rotary wing aircraft, and any interruption or stoppage of the tail rotor's spinning, will cause the entire helicopter to spin around uncontrollably, disorienting all occupants including the pilots, who at that point are reduced to hapless passengers doomed to witness their own impending death, the moment the spinning craft impacts the ground, shatters into fragments and explodes into flames as the fuel load ignites.
