I code all night, every night...

Now i feel pains at my back, as a result of sitting much.

Its has to do with ur sitting position. Get a nice chair or use pilow to maintain a good chair to table balance...always rest when you are tired (good codes need a lot of thought).

There isn't much different between me and the wishes @9t. I always code @9t n have being doing so close to a decade now, I don't have any pain or what so ever.
Just make sure u don't try to cheat nature by not giving your body what it deserves. In general, i sleep more than those lazy ones who brag of 9t sleep. Also do evening exercise after proper day rest; this will relax your muscles for a short evening sleep (like say 8-10) b4 u start ur stuffs

Well certain professions cannot do without night shift. But the negative effects are pretty well known now.
The circadian rhythm and metabolic disease aspects are now indisputable for long term night shift workers.

Obviously the risk is even bigger for those already generically at risk. By causing an earlier onset for example.

ASUU has been hired to destroy the public universities in Nigeria and see to the growth of the private and foreign universities.
This is why they call their participating in the 2019 election as civic duty, but they shut down the universities at the slightest provocation or without any Provocation, because there is benefit attached from their sponsors.

This thread should be for Nigerians in the diaspora who toil day and night to make good money.

The Nigerian working hours has traditionally been 9-5pm or 8-7pm which applies to mostly media houses.

Well, most media houses work round the clock.

I must say night shift is sweet in the Telecoms industry, but our Nigerian employers will not pay allowances which is so bad. Naija is so f**ked up.

Working night shifts is fair enough.. If you get to rest in the day time.

Unlike medical doctors...
You work during the day.. 8am to 4pm..then continue 4pm to 8am(Call duty) and then, work again 8am to 4pm, before you can get home.. That's if you are not taking back to back calls.

It's not being easy.

There are not enough facts to substantiate most of your claims. For example in point 2, how do you gain weight by working night shift? It's not like you are going there to sit idle. You definitely must exert energy.
Re: 9 Negative Effects Of Working Night Shifts by helpishere(m): 12:08pm On Jan 06, 2019
Except for the initial high BP, all the other points are baseless. I did night job in Europe and it was from midnight to 8am. I sleep till 1pm and go out to hustle in the afternoon and by 7pm, I resume my sleep till 11pm when I wake up to prepare and catch the 11.45 last bus to work. I worked for 4 years doing the same thing. In Europe, the socialisation does not matter as everyone works on different shifts and so you might not even have time to meet friends in weeks. The only thing that I suffer now is that years later, if I get home from work before 7pm, I go to sleep after eating and wake up before midnight and to sleep after is war. But I never took coffee nor smoked to stay awake while working. I took chocolate drink all night and I was okay.
