anthony86:This news is for people who can read and digest easily. The committee will advise govt on new revenue sources and expenditure leakages,to cushion the effect of the wage increases, on a sustainable basis. This can only be done by economists. and financial experts! |

CharleyBright:U are just ranting at ur ignorance. So is only Buhari that will sign the new minimum wage bill without transmitting same to the National Assembly. Pls dont display ur ignorance on social forum if u dont know how things work. |

chocolatelady:Mr I- too- Know, The people Buhari is supposed to transmit the bill to are already waiting and asking for it. Let him sign the bill and let it leave his table first. Why is he holding on to it and forming silly committees? If Buhari is Ok with the bill then he should sign it, otherwise he should openly say No instead of playing the Ostrich. Hypocrite that he is. |

Harwoyeez:The problem with Nigeria is that we have too many blind charlatans around. Anything Buhari says or do is just perfect for some of you charlatans. GEJ govt tried to increase Fuel price to N120, Buhari was at the fore front to protest and u people hailed him. GEJ was paying fuel subsidy, Buhari said subsidy is a scam and u people hailed him. But in less than 4 months of gaining power, Buhari increased fuel price to N145 and is fraudulently paying subsidies, and you people are still hailing him? Please are you not brainless charlatans if you people cant ever see anything wrong in what he does even when clearly open? Did Buhari use charm on you people? By the way, Does your beloved Buhari have regard for how govt is supposed to function, when he took billions of our money for Medical Tourism to treat himself and has bluntly refused to account for or disclose how much he spent. Is he above the law, that everything must be done in reverse in his case? You hypocrites and charlatans really disgust me. |

myners007:Oga stop talking like a school boy. The amount involved here is not just N30k but the cumulative sum and it's effect which will amount to billions of naira monthly. Just youth corpers alone amounts to billions before you capture the increamental sum on all the existing government workers in the country. So there is every need for professional inputs. |

contigiency:I don't have to argue with a person of your grade because you lack indept knowledge of the working of the Nigeria economy. |

This is a brilliant development and we hope the committee gives transparent review. Most clamour for increase in wage not knowing the resultant effect. Without proper review, increase would most likely mean inflation, unemployment and am evils attached to it. I'm quite sure less than 50% of Nigeria's working population is employed by the government and yet, increase in. govt workers wages will make inflate things for the whole economy (if proper macro economics is not played out). I'm not in any way opposing nor supporting wage increase either way. We all hope for better welfarism, Many Nigerians are favouring wage increase, and the increase Im sure will but votes for APC. If the review is made and the minimum amount estimated is way less than the proposed 50k, the current administration should just withhold the information and claim there is some underlying issues. The chairman of the committee or anyone perceived to have insider will then give a statement to the media insinuating potential increase to 50k. The news will be circulated in the media....It might buy APC votes |

CharleyBright:Can you imagine. Those labour leaders have been scammed, perhaps they've been settled in dollars. Does anyone see the deceitfulness of this administration now? They announced earlier that the new minimum wage bill would be transmitted to the National Assembly on 23rd of January and here is the President, saying the committee inaugurated, has "one month" period to conclude work on the minimum wage report. This is clearly a tactic to drag the issue till after the elections in order to see whether the results will favour them or otherwise. God shall soon deliver Nigeria himself. |
