thanks for your responses so far. is it possible getting primary and secondary schools that teaches in english.cos the kids might not be able to compehend studies in german

Hi. I only know private primary school teaching in English. Usually your kid must enter official German school, it's compulsory. But most kids learn German within 6-12 months. If your child is a slow learner maybe it has to repeat one class, but teachers are prepared and try to assist in every way.

I don't see how this one can help you honestly.

Are you into tech? If yes what do you do.

If not what interests you?

I can lie about my job role, educational experience and udemy skills or what ever you call it just to discard your questions but just tell me what you wanna achieve and I'll advice.

I fully agree with this.

German speak their language with pride and if you wanna get access to more jobs learn German.

For tech jobs it's it needed. But you never can tell. Try goethe institute or use YouTube.

When coming to Berlin, please take note that to get housing and Kita place is highly competitive and cost of living is rising, if you don't have a job already that might also be troubling and Yes it would be great to start Learning German already from Nigeria.

This is not how to ask questions sir.

You are asking me how I got my job what skills I had and what role I am working in here. Those are kinda personal related questions. He remain small you'd ask for my company, salary, name of my wife, where I stay and all name of my exes.

I asked you if you wanna go into tech so I can maybe share some tips with you and advice but no you decide to act entitled. Stop the entitlement mentality.

This thread is simply for "General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries". Let's be guided please

If you wanna go into tech or switch career please read this https://medium.freecodecamp.org/how-i-switched-careers-and-got-a-developer-job-in-10-months-a-true-story-b8895e855a8b then you can ask question about what path you wanna take and I can be able to advice and mentor properly.

By the way. Tech jobs pays pretty much here in Europe. Not as much as the US but at least more than Nigeria.

And lastly since I got here I have been getting lots of counter offers from other companies trying to recruit for technical roles

Thanks for responding. Pardon me if you felt invaded personally. Initially, I was subtle until you requested that I be direct. I have no entitlement mentality and absolutely no interest in your personal affairs. I really appreciate your comments related to securing jobs and if it's OK with you kindly share the technical roles available. I have an engineering background and currently having a management information systems experience.

I am applying for family reunion visa. Had my interview in October and I guess verification is complete even though I didn't get an email on that. My spouse has a blue card and has been invited to the foreign office for an interview next week. God's willing we'll get a favourable response this month.

I have been checking the website for an appointment since late December, but I havent seen any. Is this how tough it is to get an appointment? Who knows how I can easily get a work permit appointment at the Lagos embassy?

To get an appointment you have to log on the site at exactly 12midnight i.e from 11:59pm you should be at the Captcha page once it hits 12am click Continue, I promise you'd see appointment. This I've only seen work during weekdays (i.e Sunday night through Monday to Thursday night through Friday. It hasn't worked during weekends before since I've ever tried). I also discovered you'd only get 7am appointment when you book at that time.

There are other times of the day like 3pm but I've only seen appointment once at that time of the day. If anyone else knows any other time of the day one can surely get appointment please share with us, it will be very valuable.

I believe there are a lot of tech jobs here asking for Javascript and some frameworks like react or others. Try updating your linkedin very well and maybe apply on stack overflow and xing.

I got mine on stackoverflow but there are lot of linkedin mails that I got since I was in Nigeria but the pay was not so great so I didn't take them

wow, this is really long. Had my interview over three years ago and the whole process took two months and few weeks before I joined my hubby. You should send them an email to inquire about the status

And before I forget you'd need at least five years experience before they can really take a look at your profile for IT or you have a crazy git / linkedin profile smiley

Has you hubby gotten his resident permit ? or is he a citizen ?

I believe he should have done his Ameldung, permit and insurance. If he has done those then he should send you a copy and I believe you'd drop it to the embassy.

You can read this doc https://ec.europa.eu/home-affairs/sites/homeaffairs/files/11a_germany_family_reunification_en.pdf for more information on the process. It takes a lot of time

I think you should write to the embassy. Sometimes, the delay is mostly from the home office where your husband resides. Your hubby might have gotten a letter from the home office stating that they have gotten back to the consulate general in Lagos, but they are quite smart to also let you know that the decision of visa approval or rejection is not theirs to take so as to shift the blame.
in my opinion, if you decide to write to them which I think is the best thing to do, remember to state your file number, when you had the interview also stating that your hubby has done the needful by submitting all required documents.
