Hello everyone, I was playing PES 18 yesterday on TV via HDMI cable from PC. Suddenly, my Acer PC shut down. I tried to power it on but it didn't. I noticed if I open the lid, it starts then shut down. If I then proceed to press and hold any key, it will boot well (with that key or any key being pressed and held). Sometimes, on booting up, it will show "preparing automatic repair", which I have gotten past because I can now even watch a movie or launch office (with any key being pressed and held).

Problem: On opening the lid, the PC boots then shuts off making a tick sound within 5 secs. If I open the lid, then close it back, it won't shut down. The power button doesn't do its job but rather any key (being pressed and held).

I have tried several things to revert it but to no avail. There was a time it showed hibernating, I then proceed to turn off hibernate totally from my PC via cmd but still not working.


Has anyone encountered this issue? Thanks

Before now, do you have any problem with your keyboard?

If you can take out your keyboard, do it and see if it will work fine.

No. The laptop switches on but looks like the lid is doing the switching on. And I have to press and hold any key if I want to use it, on leaving the key, it goes off with a tick sound. I just did a reset of my windows and deleted all the files but same problem

What's the model of your Acer laptop?

When you open the laptop it switch on and off back unless you hold down any keyboard keys right?

Yes. Acer E5 573g. Its keyboard is internal, I will have to take everything apart

little water recently entered my system and i switched it of and removed the battery immediately after a while I switched it on nd realized the right arrow key and down arrow key was malfunctioning (it takes time to respond) please what can i do? do i have to change only the keys or the whole keyboard? or if given time will it regain it sensitivity?

Please how can i repair zinox laptop showing "No Operating System" when i start it? Sometimes it says "No bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key" but i inserted windows 7 installation disk but still it wont boot and the win 7 wont install, it either says "cannot install to the sellected partition"or some other issue. Please help out.

it not recognizing the hdd....slave the hdd into another system to check if its still good..or mayb d window jxt crashed
