See how you are implicating yourself. No difference among APC, PMB ,and CPC but according to you there is difference between GEJ and PDP.
Can you show me where I mentioned it?

The president has no constitutional powers to either sack or replace the CJN.Only the national judicial council headed by the CJN himself has such powers.By filing these spurious charges against the CJN the president is only trying to force him to step aside on moral grounds while his CCT trial subsists. However until he is convicted by either the CCT or the NJC,there is no constitutional provision that the CJN must step aside.Like the senate president Saraki he can still remain in power and fight the corruption charges.

I join well meaning Nigerians in prevailing upon the CJN Onnogen not to succumb to blackmail of election riggers by resigning or stepping aside but sit tight in office

I think the CJN will self incrimante infront of Code of Conduct tribunal.
If that happens they can issue an indictment and prosecution or they can impeach and force him out of service....or, if they want to show kindness, the Judicial Council can intervene and offer him resignation.

The President has nothing to do with his issue, it does not concern the legislature, it does not even concern the judiciary. This is a simple process for Code of Ethics and Compliance.

He was promoted to the Supreme Court and he declined the offer. The NJC acting on Jonathan’s prompting subsequently suspended him over the Sokoto state suspended judgement. NJC later realized the silliness of their decision and promptly cancelled the suspension and reinstated him back to office but Jonathan refused to allow him go back to his office.

Again, if Salami is Tinubu’s judge and you feel what Jonathan did to him was right, Onnoghen is also a well known Wike judge and what is coming his way is also justified. All partisan Judges must be thrown out of the judiciary including Mary Odili.
ask yourself. How can a sane man decline a promotion from Appeal Court to Supreme Court if not for skeletons in the cupboard?

Like I said, many ways to cripple your adversary. It must not necessarily be removal. Saraki has lost all his previous swag, his hold on the senate has waned, he passes executive bills with the speed of light. That is enough for PMB.

See, he already did...

PREMIUM TIMES has obtained details of a statement given by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, to the Code of Conduct Bureau which is accusing him of false asset declaration.

In one note seen by this newspaper, Mr Onnoghen said he “forgot to update his asset declaration, after the expiration of his 2005 declaration”.

Mr Onnoghen also explained that he believed that the form SCN 000015 filed in December 2016 after he emerged acting CJN would cover for the period after his confirmation as CJN.

The case against Mr Onnoghen came after a group, the Anti-Corruption and Research Based Data Initiative, sent a petition against him alleging wrongdoing in his asset declaration.

The group said the CJN, Nigeria’s most senior judicial officer, maintained illegal accounts containing foreign currencies and did not declare them.

He keeps foreign accounts that generates income and he receives monthly statement. Has he paid tax on those capital gains?

Thats the hook!

He may say he forgot to update filing but did he forget to pay tax on the income also?

I sympathize with the CJN. This is his whole career infront of him. He is a lawyer and Im sure he would know what to do here.

Lawyers know when to keep pressure, they know how to work around loop holes.....but they also know when to say "you got me, lets make a deal". cheesy cheesy

The Executive and Judiciary are equal arm of the government.

Any institution that is a court can't try him before NJC says so.

CCB is not even a court, their work is reconciliation of declaration and referral to CCT should the individual fails to update the declarations accordingly.
u forget the legislature. When Mrs Pelosi was sworn in 2 weeks ago, in her address, she said that going by one amendment in the US constitution (which we are following), that she is equal to Donald Trump.

You are the ignorant one.Under section 3(d) of the CCB act he is allowed to write to the CCB to make corrections to his asset declaration

The author of the petition, Mr. Dennis Aghayan was a Buhari's media aide and the pioneer Publicity Secretary of the CPC. I think you need the "grow up" more.

That is the reason FFK and Reno are seen as PDP appendages even when they speak their opinions. Why do you want us to think otherwise in this case?

What is the difference among PMB, APC and CPC ?

didnt saraki, another head of an independent arm of govt do same?
And didnt buhari do same when he was being tried for certificate forgery?

ORIENTATION101:
saraki and chief judge positions re not the same. Chief judge of supreme court is task at administering justice if he is found wanting, he has no moral to preside over cases until the competent court of law have absolve him of any wrong doing. Onnoghen trials starts on monday. Before end of january nigeria will definetly have new chief judge of supreme court.

True. He already said he forgot to update the records. Before his confirmation in Senate as CJN there were paperwork he would have filled and signed attesting it to be truthful and honest declaration. If they turn out not to be truthful then he has commited "perjury".

In a court of law everything is admissible under record. I forgot, i do not know, cat ate the paper....these are all negligence.
Acts of negligence and ignorance is not admissible.

Did he sign a paper before attesting his declaration to be truthful? Yes. Otherwise he would not be confirmed CJN.

He admits now (self incrimination) that he forgot. So he commits perjury.

Im not a lawyer, but i make sure i eat amala....and when i do i guzzle it down with plenty ewedu. This brain is well oiled with ofe.manu. grin grin

When reminded that it won't sail through because of presidential veto, you boasted that NASS will override it. What was the eventual outcome?
Re: Buhari Has No Powers To Sack The CJN by ImperialYoruba: 9:27pm On Jan 12, 2019
Hey Pa Chukwudi,
Nigerian Legislature need to come up with a bill to seal the mouth against self incrimination.

So if we had such law CJN could have maintained silence, not admit or deny anything and thus put pressure on CCT to tie any wrongdoing to him.

Las las, i dont want them to ruin this man's career abeg. If they want to remove him then get him into a deal that protects his life career and his future and family. Dont crush him and dont ruin him. The war against corruption is still young and it will take many many administrations on same vigour to weed out bad elements. We must preserve people and their dignity even as we weed them out.

Yes, they are my post and express my views and not the things you make up or want to hear

My submission still remains that the author of the petition is a former employee and partner of Buhari who is the patriarch of the Presidency. And by extension, you cannot completely say he may not be doing the bidding of his ally or former employer without a concrete evidence. Is that too difficult to understand?

The CCB has a duty to remind him to update his declaration and the body didn't - that's no case.

In 2017, the CJN did a comprehensive declaration to cover every earning and assets under review.

There is no where he was accused of operating a " Foreign Bank Account ". The allegations borders on operating a domiciliary account on foreign currencies probably in Zenith Bank or GTB which is not a crime

We are only asking him to step aside pending the determination of his case by CCT. Someone undergoing criminal trial cannot preside over the Supreme Court. What if the case gets to the Supreme Court, do you want him to be the judge in his own case?
as it is now you cannot the executive ask the head of the Nigeria judicial council to step aside when their is no legal jurisdiction provided for him to step aside on the request of the executive

We know he was part of your Dubai plan and the only hope of Atiku and PDP winnig was at the supreme court,Atiku and PDP were hoping to bribe him through Wike and win at the supreme court.

Well, your Dubai plan is falling apart and he will be force to resign before Atiku election petition get to the supreme court.
