And what does that has to do with someone having a house in Dubai or whatever country you mentioned? All I'm saying is, i bet there is a thread on this site to air such grievances, on here, we are here for a reason, and it's not to read about people ranting on and on about corruption or perceived lies, so why not use discussion threads that deal with such issues? Hey I'm just saying, that said, carry go Chief, ain't stopping ya, just don't get the point, not like anyone here was born yesterday, why scream over something when no one is listening. grin

If we go into the heart of the matter with regards to this unnecessary prolonged war of attrition with Boko Haram. The over riding issue is CORRUPTION that canker worm affects everything and has given Boko undue advantage where there should be none.

Therefore the activities of Buratai on and off the battlefield are INTRINSICALLY PERTINENT & LINKED.

What i find shocking is the deep seated lack of knowledge with the over sight function of our political structure legislative and executive with regards to our armed forces.

Consider the bold how did you come to this conclusion.
It's public knowledge, and something the military always complains about. There are people within the local communities who usually inform BH about military movements, usually those people are family or associates of BH members, sometimes they are BH members who embed themselves into the populace.

People of that area have very complex motivations.

People of that area have very complex motivations.

There is whole strata of military strategy with regards supply and logistics as well as operational movements proactive and reactionary. That the public simply will not know about. A lot of those movement evolve with the situation with commanders of those operations recce or kill missions, etc and are not exactly known prior.

When you have a forward operational base it's not a secret it's common knowledge. In this regard you will have a whole range of contingency plans with regard to your base being attacked. It's not something of a surprise it's actually something you expect. Your entire communication infrastructure gives you situational awareness and the ability for powerful offensive response.

Therefore if you are expecting it you can not suprised, you are PREPARED for it. Effective Contingency with multiple scenarios responses.

It's the same principle with an AMBUSH you are in a war zone and so expect to be ambushed. It's your response to the ambush thar determines superiority which shouldn't be just defensive but offensive.

It's quote common practice by the NA in the NE to take great solace and strength in numbers.

Going in huge convoys of 30 plus vehicles with the majority of those vehicles soft skinned. It's not rocket science to projects where they are going to or coming from.

But the other disturbing component is that we use well worn pathways or roads very often. That makes it easy to set up ambush, IED"s, etc.

One of the characteristics of your supply and logistics management and strategy. Never pass the same route twice in succession.

However, if you don't have the fit for purpose armoured vehicles and offensive precision weaponry with FLIR then you are in VERY WEAK position.

We currently do not have a definitive IFV that is fit for purpose where is your overriding advantage. Our combatants are going into a kill zone in soft skinned vehicles.

Operation Serval lasted for two years plus by the French to neutralise the Islamic Maghreb in Mali. Although it took them less than 30 days to finish off the Islamic Maghreb. Can l ask you how many casualties they French suffered in total

4 US soldiers were lost in Niger, a clear case of irresponsible mission creep by thier standards. That caused a congressional investigation.

Have the required sub committee in our two legislative houses taken stock of what is happening or not happening in the NE. I very much doubt.

IMO the problem is not information being leaked to Boko but our own lack of Infrastructural communication and fit for purpose equipment on all levels.

And if the people are aligning themselves with Boko is it by choice or the reality of blood thirsty coercion by Boko. Which may have resulted from our failure to guarantee thier security particularly in the rural areas .

In many cases they have no choice can they truly rely on the NA to protect them against Boko. Questions yoi really didn't consider or ask.

I think Most of these joint operations are carried out by a task force formed of soldiers drawn from the navy, army and even Air Force , so the guys from elite unites might feel the need to hide their identities, for example there’s a guy there with an SBS face cap.
