Mia was searching her bag for her car keys as she walked out of the fast food holding a nylon containing snacks and ice cream for Kelly when she bumped into a hard chest and the nylon dropped to the floor.

'ouch!' she exclaimed bending down to pick up the nylon 'you didn't see...' She paused. her eyes met with his and everything stopped working. the world still around them. She tried opening her mouth to say something but couldn't. 'you?' Was the only word she could manage to alter.

'we meet again Mia' he smiled. that familiar smile and those dimples that usually sent chill down her spine. Her mouth was dry. She tried moving away when he held her right arm.

'leave me the hell alone!' she scowled.

'not this time Mia. At least say hi. We haven't seen in ages. Where and how have you been at least?'

His cool demeanor surprised Mia. He spoke as if he had planned their accidental meeting. as if he had known she would be coming out of the fast food and had waited patiently for her. And was he actually asking her to say hi? seriously? As an old friend or what?

'hi? seriously?'

He sighed letting go of her arm 'Mia, I'm sorry' he said simply 'I've been looking for you'

She looked at him as If he had gone bananas 'and why would that be?'

'I want to talk to you Mia. its important'

She eyed him from head to toe 'there's nothing important you have to say to me. And I'll pretend this never happened. I never saw you. you never saw me. We never spoke to each other. And we don't know each other' She started walking away but he stopped her. at this point she lost her cool 'what do you want from me? What is it? What's your problem Damilola?'

He smiled again.. very broadly this time 'its nice to know you still remember my name'

She shook her head 'cocaine must be legal where you are coming from' She hissed and walked away.

She got to her car.. well, one of her mother's cars actually and sighed resting her head on the steering. God! what was all this? Why has her life always been this complicated? Didn't she deserve peace, joy and understanding in her life even if it was once? Why were her problems and past always coming back to haunt her? Why?

Her phone rang and it was Florence. she picked.

'hey babes' Florence said cheerfully 'how's the latest baby mama in town doing?'

'you won't believe who I just ran into few minutes ago'

'and who was that?'

'that sick guy, Damilola'

'wow!' Florence sounded happy 'now that's awesome. what happened? Did you guys talk? you know catch up on times?'

'huh?' Mia couldn't believe her ears 'what rubbish are you saying now? I'm talking about Damilola, that useless guy that..'.

'common babes.. its been how many years now? you need to let go and get fvcked. loosen up bitch'

Mia scoffed 'who cares about getting laid right now? is that the only thing you can actually come up with? I have a daughter to take care of and if I don't want her ending up like me, then I need to show and teach her the right path. Getting laid is the last thing on my mind right now'

Florence laughed loudly 'motherhood comes with maturity right? Yeah, I noticed. You are dodging the f word'

Mia smiled as she set the car on reverse 'why do I feel you have something to do with Dami bumping into me. and why are you not surprised?'

'well ehhhh. well, actually. its a small world. And anyone can meet anywhere. besides..'

'Florence. that guy impregnated me and ran away! what are you saying?'
