the only perfect cars are brand new cars, every used car all have some degree of imperfection and will still drive after being bought, so how would you describe the word defective?

I guess Heavenlybang & radautoworks have done well to do justice to the topic already cos as for me it's when a dealer or seller INTENTIONALLY lies, misleads or preys on a buyer's ignorance or negligence to sell a bad, defective, lemon or otherwise car without disclosing all the true details of the present condition of the car to be sold, which also includes documents associated with the vehicle too.

Hence hiding fake/false documentation, incomplete/missing documentation in addition to non-disclosure of all issues/faults present in the car are all regarded as auto scam, for instance evil people buy badly accidental/damaged cars, carryout cosmetic repairs on them and sell to unsuspecting clients.
