2. IN 1983 the Secretary general of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) DR Edem Kodjo of Togo stepped down prematurely and he was replaced by an alumni of UNN An Igbo man called DR PETER ONU as acting Secretary general.

3. Dr peter Onu was a Nigerian diplomat and philanthropist. He served as an ambassador to Germany.
He was a very brilliant man who was well respected and became friends to the legendary Dr Julius Mwalimu Nyerere of Tanzania

4. In 1985 it was time for an official secretary general of the OAU and most African leaders who were very confident in Dr Peter Onu leadership wanted to vote him to become the secretary General Of OAU.

What happened Next was very shocking to most African leaders

6. What happened was captured in Ibrahim Daggash book called OAU: Fictions and fact.

The book reads

@ I remember in 1985 at African Hall we were campaigning for Dr Peter Onu of Nigeria to be Made the OAU Secretary general.

We learnt that the Head of State of Nigeria General M. Buhari was supporting
another candidate IDI OMARO from Niger republic

7. We were shocked so we mobilized a team to meet with him,
The team was lead by the very popular Julius Nyerere from Tanzania and other African leaders.

8. When we approached him Julius Nyerere begged him:

“Please give us Peter Onu from your country!’

Gen Buhari refused and even got very annoyed with us . What was surprising was that , when the result emerged and the winner was Niger’s Candidate IDI OMARO a Muslim .

General Buhari rejoiced to such a degree that he was unable to control his emotions. That was a moment I witnessed and was convinced that General Buhari would not last long as a leader.” –

9. With that single act General Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria became the only president in History to vote against his own country.

He couldn't bear the thought of an Igbo man heading the OAU so he voted for Niger republic instead

For all of you praising Buhari and condemning Yahaya Bello, tomorrow, Bello and Buhari will be together in Lokoja canvassing for your votes, they will hold hands and smile at you even in your agony, both men are the same.

For all the Civil Servants, Students, Artisans and well wishers of our state, in case you have forgotten, Buhari forced Bello on us and he is coming back again to mock us over our misfortune.

Buhari is coming to beg for our votes, he now thinks we matter because election has come. We are only useful for votes, after election he will disappear, We cannot be fooled, no we cannot!

This same Buhari has not set foot on our state since he gained power, he he has not commissioned any project in Kogi, our Federal Roads are all bad and our people are suffering, he doesn't care.

* Abubakar Audu died Buhari did not come to Kogi, but when Ganduje's daughter wedded, he was in Kano to attend.
* His Minister, James Ocholi died, Buhari did not come to Kogi.
* When our Governor was sworn in, Buhari did not come.
* His Fulani Herdsmen siblings killed our people, he didn't visit, but he rushed to Nasarawa to condole with them for same reason.
* Flood ravaged our settlements, Buhari didn't come, but he rushed to Bauchi for the same reason.
* The Police has revealed that Approximately 300 people were killed in Ankpa for rituals in his regime, Buhari didn't even send us a condolence message.

This man cannot use us this time, we know he hates us, we feel the same way towards him, once beaten twice shy, we shall reject him in 2019 in the elections.

Buhari must lose in Kogi. Its a MUST!

Oga this your history and the likes failed in 2015 when Jonathan and co made it their campaign strategy. They used AIT, NTA and other news platform to play that kind of politics that I will continue to hate and pray that nobody should ever play again in human history. It was a hate speech of the highest order. Yet, it failed them. So you coming up with such this time around is an indication that people never learn from the past. Though, it will not even disturb the reelection of mr President, just that it's disappointing to note that somebody could think of following that part again.
