Lawyers in the house, please I need your assistance. How do we prepare divorce papers? Note that this is not a court/customary marriage. It is purely a religious (Islamic) marriage But I want the divorce to be official/formal, legal, genuine and authentic for record purposes in case any issues arise. Thanks. |

FreeConCiencE:lawyers dont draft divorce papers. what they do is petition the courts for a decree nisi dissolving the union. however in your case since its an islamic marriage then its either the sharia court or the customary court that will decide on it. so go to the nearest customary court or sharia court in your vicinity and apply for the divorce |

If you were not married in court, you should follow the Islamic rites as regards to divorce |
