Even these ones are getting mauled in Syria.

The difference between the NE and Syria, is that Syria is a pendulum of warfare, swinging without warning. Nothing really has changed in the NE since 2014, the issue here can easily turn to "all the gear with no idea"

If the basic rules & skills of Infantry are quickly forgotten even rail guns can't help you

Know your enemy, and know your yourself. If you know yourself but not your enemy you will lose a hundred battles. If you know both yourself and your enemy you will win every single battle - That's a rough translation from Sun Tzu's Art of War

We all know the shortcomings of the FOBs but the videos are a concoction of previously shot clips.

Biafra : "Operation Python Dance II Would Have Swallowed Nnamdi Kanu If.." - Buratai Spits Fire

By Wisdom Nwedene

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has revealed that 'Operation Python Dance II would have swallowed the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu if he dared stayed in Nigeria and refused to escape to Israel.

Igbere TV reports that Buratai made this known on Monday while speaking at the flag off of the third edition of the military maneuver Exerciser Egwu Eke III in Lagos.

He described the escape of Nnamdi Kanu as one of the major successes of Python Dance II.

In his words,

“One of the important achievement of the Exercise held in 2016 was the escape of Nnamdi Kanu; let him come and face the battle if he wishes.”

General Buratai said if Nnamdi Kanu dared, the python would have swallowed him, warning other criminal elements and those planning to cause trouble in Lagos and Ogun states to stay clear or “the python will swallow them.”

He explained that the objective of the military maneuver was to reinvigorate all existing operations in the country with additional manpower, equipment and resources to address the lingering security problems in the country.

His words: Nigerians should be assured that at the end of the exercise which is also conducted simultaneously by other divisions in the army; the python must have swallowed all the bandits, rustlers, terrorists, kidnappers, robbers and militants in the country. The python will also swallow thugs and other miscreants that may raise their heads to disturb the peace in the country.”

General Buratai warned criminals within Lagos and Ogun states to flee or would be crushed by troops of the Exercise Egwu Eke 111.

A place was overrun by armed militias yesterday in sokoto state, more than 20 people were killed... When will the Nigerian army start this Python dance in sokoto and zamfara, The python dance needs to be at the same level with the one that almost swallowed kanu.

I don't understand how the Nigerian army do crush unarmed group easily but find it so hard to crush an armed group

Everything and every attack shown in those videos have already been discussed/ argued here on this thread. It doesn't change the face that in this case, BOKO F-CKING HARAM did better propaganda than the Nigerian Military. Think of the psychological boost these videos will give to potential virgin hunters. The questions that begs for answers is : DID THE MILITARY LEARN ANY MAJOR LESSONS FROM THESE ENGAGEMENTS? HAVE THE CORRECTIONS BEEN TAKEN AND APPLIED?.
From some reactions here, the Terrorists have already achieved some of their major objectives which include: Discrediting the military and making them look super human.
HOWEVER, THAT DOESN'T EXCUSE THE FACT THAT SOME UNITS TURNED OVER FULLY FUNCTIONAL AMMO TO THE BASTARDS NOR THE FACT THAT MOST OF THE TIME WE ARE CAUGHT PANTS DOWN DUE TO SHODDY BASE DEFENCE.
GODSPEED TO OUR BOYS. COME RAIN OR SHINE VICTORY IS OURS. ONE DAY WE WILL GET THE ARMY LEADERSHIP WE NEED

Boko haram attacked bama, and they were in control of bama for close to a week. Is gamboru ngala more secured than bama? Just pray you won't get caught up at the wrong place.

Bama? Or Baga?

Baga is easy because of so many thick trees that the Airforce Helis can't see the AOGs. Tho i heard they have given contracts for local peeps to cut all the big trees down there.

On my way today from Monguno i could see locals oulling down trees close to FOBs.

According to their website, it is AK-47 resistant as is.

http://proforcedefence.com/armoured-toyota-hilux-apc/

I suggest maintaining the same armour package while making the rear capsule "convertible".
This puts the roof at the same height with the cabin and creates the opportunity for mounting anything from 2 x 0.50 HMG up to 1,x 81 mm mortar.
It would make it IMO a better protected and more rugged WMIK.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_Rover_Wolf

Finally, we should have a long term (10+years) annual fixed sum contract with Steyr, PAN, Inosson and Proforce for production of new vehicles and maintenance of existing fleet.

Exactly, something that can accommodate a heavy machine gun, has armor and still maintains high mobility, very challenging task but I’ve gone through the LinkedIn of Proforce and the experts they employ are not small boys, they can figure it out.

sorry to say but loosing some battles does not mean u hv lost the war. Most of all this propaganda video happen wen they attack some battalions. Nigerians r very impatient people if i must say. Its quite unfortunate that armed bandit r terrorizing sokoto n zamfara if not kudos to the NA for isolating iswap to only borno. I can authoritatively tell u that if (a big if) buhari win a 2nd term iswap will be decimated. When buhari said boko was technically defeated he was trying to score political points which is very bad. I repeat no army in Africa is better trained than the NA in guerilla tactic. Borno is a very large state, n up till now boko haram still hv sympathizers. If the US army come over here to fight iswap they is succed by bombing the whole area which we r trying to to avoid because civilians r still plenty in the area.
So please try n use logic when watching most of those videos cus they r just propaganda.
In every war both side loses n its quite unfortunate that we hv lost some of our soldiers. We know what we signed up for.
.
The only thing civilians can do for the NA is to pray for us.
Funny how yall r quick to believe propaganda videos most of those videos r not the reality on down in Borno.

what kind of leaves are u smoking. are blind or deaf. those guys use the NA like Walmart supermarkets to get weapons and the funny thing is lessons are not learnt when people like you are blind to the truth.

GOC APPLAUDS TROOPS OF SECTOR 1 OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE.

The Theatre Commander(TC) Major General Benson Akinroluyo and the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Operation LAFIYA DOLE Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu on Wednesday 16 January 2019 conducted a long range confidence building patrol, assessment and re-assurance visit along Mafa, Dikwa, Logomani, Gamboru Ngala and Rann to check the operational readiness and situations within 22 Brigade general area of deployment.

General Bulama met and interacted with community members in Rann Internally Displaced Persons Camp which was attacked by members of the Boko Haram Terrorist who came in about 8 Gun Trucks and several Motor Cycles on 15 January 2019. The Terrorist burnt some parts of the village and parts of the NGO stores and looted some items. He gave the IDPs his assurance that security within their area will be strengthen and therefore urged them to continue to support the military operation by giving information and identifying strange persons of questionable character. He enjoined them to go about their normal activities and remain vigillant.

Similarly, the GOC also met and discussed with members of the Multinational Joint Task Force deployed at Gamboru Ngala, appreciating them for their effort and commitment over time in the fight against insurgency, he ask them to maintain the existing synergy with the Negerian troops deployed along the border in order to deny the insurgence freedom of operation within the area. He commended their swift and proactive response in the conduct of joint operation

In his address to troops of 3 Battalion Bravo Company deployed in the area, he commended their resilience and doggedness while fighting to hold the ground and neutralising 2 Suicide bombers killed 3 with other escaping with gun shot wounds an act which he described as a sign of professional competence, commitment and sacrifice to humanity and to the nation. He added that they have performed remarkably well and further encourage them to maintain high standard of alertness, vigilance and remain firm and steadfast through proactive conduct of clearance and confidence building patrols in order to dominate the general area and most importantly taking the fight to their enclaves. Regrettably 3 soldiers paid the supreme sacrifice

Consequently, the TC and the GOC both replenished the troops with more ammunitions, uniforms, fragmental jackets and other Logistics support to boost their morale and reassure them of the Chief of Army Staff' continued commitment to their safety and welfare.

Other members of the patrol teams were Formation Commanders as well as some Principal Staff Officers within Headquarters Theatre Command and 7 Division Nigerian Army.

Mining the FOBs remains the most viable option against menacing AA BHT. 200 land mine covering the radius of all bases in the theater of war will deter intruders technicals.
Another option is to dedicate more ISRs to track down these technicals and send in dedicated drones to destroy them.

Obviously, it just dawned on BH that the government wont pay for hostage release anymore. Signalling dearth of funds to continually prosecute this war. The only option they are left with is to embark on full scale attacks on military bases to plunder arms and ammunitions.

It is painful to see soldiers shot in those trenches they probably dug with their hands.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.
