Op why are you killing yourself? JESUS instituted the church on Peter(one of his disciples). The same Mother Mary JESUS told his disciples on the cross that she(Mother Mary) is her(the church) mother. Don't you people reason when reading the holy book? You'd be damn SICK to tell us that the honour we give to Mother Mary is unmerited(we never even start). She coerced him into performing his first miracle. Stayed with him throughout the trials, suffered most of all who went with JESUS. As a human being, do you change a WINNING FORMULA? You ended up posting a picture of your man of God. The same one you'll lie down, kneel, kiss his feet in the name of daddy G.O. If you think the church is wrong in her dealings by honouring our Mother Mary then you doubt the efficacy of GOD. If it were to be a wrong practice he'd have revealed it and showed signs of corrections like he always does. |

Catholicism, Mary, Idolatry... there was no basis for the topic in the first instance, for the topic screams too much of ignorance. what is important however is for people to seek wisdom and understanding... and become born again. which brings us to where we are. |

OLAADEGBU:Roman Catholicism, Mary, and Idolatry by Matt Slick Roman Catholics have an extremely high view of Mary and have attributed some astounding characteristics and abilities to her, such as her interceding for us, atoning for us, and delivering our souls from damnation (documented below). Protestants consider this elevation to be not only extreme but also idolatrous since they attribute to Mary what should only be said of God. Roman Catholicism responds by saying it venerates Mary and gets its doctrines on her from Sacred Tradition, which is an "inanimate thing passed from hand to hand,"1. Alright, so which is it, the sin of idolatry or the blessing of veneration? The Roman Catholic church teaches there is a difference between idolatry and veneration. It says, "Idolatry etymologically denotes Divine worship given to an image, but its signification has been extended to all Divine worship given to anyone or anything but the true God . . . An essential difference exists between idolatry and the veneration of images practised [sic] in the Catholic Church, viz., that while the idolater credits the image he reverences with Divinity or Divine powers, the Catholic knows "that in images there is no divinity or virtue on account of which they are to be worshipped, that no petitions can be addressed to them, and that no trust is to be placed in them."2 The Roman Catholic Church has defined idolatry far too narrowly in its favour. Let's consider two things. https://carm.org/roman-catholicism-mary-idolatry? |

Righteousness89:What they are using is not Mary , they are using the image of one of the goddess called semiramis (queen of heaven ) Mary is a black woman not a white woman. JEREMIAH 7:17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. 19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? 20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. JEREMIAH 44: 16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. 17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. 18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. 19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men? 20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying, 21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind? 22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day. Mary is not an ordinary woman see REVELATION 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. |

Rome’s “Clarification” on Mary: A Change in Words, Not in Doctrine When the Vatican released its new document Mater Populi Fidelis on November 4, 2025, many hailed it as a historic reversal. Headlines declared that the Roman Church had “abandoned” titles such as Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix. To the casual observer, it appeared that centuries of Marian exaggeration were finally being corrected. Yet a closer reading reveals something far different. Rome has not renounced her Marian errors, she has merely repackaged them in softer words to appear more biblical and more appealing to the unsuspecting. While the Vatican now discourages the title Co-Redemptrix, it continues to affirm that Mary “cooperated fully” in the work of salvation and remains the “spiritual mother” who intercedes for believers. In other words, she is still presented as a necessary link between Christ and humanity. Changing the vocabulary does not change the theology. Calling her “Mother of Believers” instead of “Co-Redemptrix” does not lessen the implied partnership in redemption, it merely hides it under gentler terms. The official document itself admits this when it states that Mary’s cooperation is “subordinate yet real” and that her maternal intercession “continues to obtain graces for the faithful.” These statements still attribute to Mary an ongoing mediating role. Scripture, however, allows no such mediator apart from Christ: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5. Rome has used ambiguity to preserve her traditions while appearing to reform them. Terms like subordinate mediation or participation in redemption are carefully chosen to comfort Protestants while assuring Catholics that nothing has changed. Now, with ecumenical unity in view, the church uses expressions that are more likely to be overlooked. But these are simply the same ideas under different labels. The intent is clear: to seem aligned with Scripture while retaining every trace of the old Mariology. The heart of Rome’s Marian system is the belief that grace flows through human channels rather than directly from Christ. Whether that human figure is a priest, a saint, or Mary herself, the result is the same: the sufficiency of Christ is eclipsed by the interposition of another. But the Bible is explicit: salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12). Christ’s work needs no feminine supplement or motherly mediation. When He cried on the cross, “It is finished” (John 19:30), the work of redemption was complete, nothing and no one could add to it. To claim that Mary “obtains graces” or “continues to intercede” for humanity implies that Christ’s finished work is incomplete without her participation. Such teaching, however delicately phrased, undermines the everlasting gospel. So, why then, would the Vatican temper its language? The answer lies in strategy. In a world increasingly skeptical of religion, open Mariolatry would hinder Rome’s desire to draw Protestants, evangelicals, and even Muslims into her global spiritual alliance. So she wraps the same wine in new bottles. She retains the substance of her Marian dogmas, Immaculate Conception, perpetual virginity, bodily assumption, and heavenly intercession, but presents them in a way that seems moderate. This is deception, not repentance. It is an effort to appear scriptural without being scriptural. It soothes Protestant sensibilities while keeping the faithful in bondage to the same unbiblical system. Satan rarely works by open denial; he works through imitation. True repentance would require Rome to renounce, not merely rephrase her false teachings: To confess that Mary, though blessed among women, was a sinner in need of a Savior; that she cannot mediate grace; that she cannot hear prayers; that she cannot stand between humanity and God. Until such a confession is made, every new document is only a veil drawn over the same old errors. Heaven recognizes no “co-redeemer,” no “mother of grace,” and no “spiritual mediatrix.” There is only one Redeemer, one Mediator, and one Advocate, Jesus Christ the Lord. In conclusion: the Vatican’s latest statement is not a reformation but a rebranding. It is the old theology of Mary wrapped in new phrases, crafted to disarm criticism, deceive the masses and widen her influence. Beneath the polished language lies the same claim that has always characterized Rome: that divine grace can be accessed only through her appointed intermediaries. The call of Scripture remains unchanged: “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.” Revelation 18:

Jesus may have heard words of wisdom from his mother Mary, but she did not help him save the world from damnation, the Vatican said on Tuesday. In a new decree approved by Pope Leo, the Vatican's top doctrinal office instructed the world's 1.4 billion Catholics not to refer to Mary as the "co-redeemer" of the world. Jesus alone saved the world, said the new instruction, settling an internal debate that had befuddled senior Church figures for decades and even sparked rare open disagreement among recent popes.
