Martial.

Why would you drop Martial and retain Lingard? His goal drought is not due to a lack of trying. Although he didn't score today, he was very involved in play. Wetin Lingard do today abeg? Don't tell me pressing please, because Brighton successfully played the ball out from the back almost everytime. Dude has been bang average this season, Solksjaer's arrival hasn't even changed that.

Story. I was talking about Martial and Martial only. Exclusively Martial.

Martial needs to be benched. He’s not been providing much service of late. Let someone else who can be productive from that side play.

LoooL.

If I were to comment about Lingard I’d say it’s a bit still early to bench him. However he should be benched too if he continues to underperform. The only thing he offers when he isn’t scoring or assisting is his work ethic and pressing.

But even that wasn’t there today. He still offered more in the pst games than Martial has.

United next 3 fixtures in EPL. BURNLEY, LEICESTER AND FULHAM

“Oh yes, we were [glad to hear the whistle] but it seemed really, really, I wouldn’t say comfortable, but we played some great stuff.

"At the beginning of the second half, we created some chances and we should have put the game behind us but, in any game, you get problems and challenged and Brighton more than other teams because they are so resilient and stubborn.

"They are hard to break down and have good defenders, good midfielders and, of course, when they put the ball in the box, you have to defend. But we played some fantastic football at times.”

“[His - Rashford - goal] wasn’t bad was it? [That was his] 150th game which is a feat in itself being 21 as he is. The level of his performances at the moment, the maturity in his finishing, his work-rate, it is just a dream to have players like him in a team.

"He is [confident], you have got to be, the way he plays. Of course, he has played a lot of football this last six or seven weeks. He has played all the games in the last few weeks.

"He has just grown in confidence, the maturity the way he plays, but his work-rate never stops and that is the most pleasing.”

“Of course, the attitude is brilliant. Then again, I would have liked to have played the game out better, kept it better and made them run after the ball more.

"I thought we gave it away too easily, were nonchalant at times, because we got sloppy. Maybe, at times, it looked too easy and 3-0 is fine but, at 2-0, anything can happen. Defensively, we need to find our shape better. Towards the end, like today, we need to defend better.

"We were under the cosh but winning 2-1 and we needed to keep it away from them, but at times, though, it was fantastic football from us and we should have scored two or three at the beginning of the second half.”

- Ole Gunner Solskjaer

“If we keep this momentum going, the train keeps rolling and we get loads of points on board, hopefully that will take us up the table. The gaffer [Sir Alex Ferguson] used to challenge us at times. Why can’t you go and win 10 games on the bounce?

"As long as you take each game at a time, prepare well going into it, then every game is a winnable one. But, then again, we need to improve on quite a few things.

"I have to say the players have to be proud of the form and momentum. It’s seven games on the bounce now and wins create confidence.”

“Yes of course [beating Sir Matt’s record] is something to be proud of, but it is something for the boys to be proud of, because that keeps the momentum going and it's another win.

"Maybe, in 10, 15 or 20 years’ time, I’ll look back on things like this but I don’t care whatsoever about records. I never ever bothered about these things. Of course, to be part of a team winning so much feels great and confidence grows in that dressing room.

"It is that team spirit that kept them away from losing points today, even though David [De Gea] didn’t have any saves to make, but, towards the end, there were still some scary moments.”

“Of course, we’ve had some tough years at the club and we’re fifth at the moment. I don’t know how Arsenal are doing at the moment [against Chelsea in the later kick-off] though, so we could be sixth!

"It is a challenge for us to get to where we should be as a club, but now we are looking forward to the [Emirates] FA Cup game against Arsenal because that is a tough opponent but it is a great challenge. I’ll sit down and try to watch the second half, when I’m done with this!”

Who else notice when it 65min upward our team doesn't press well anymore, this could make us loose point with more tactical and stubborn team.

It almost cost us the game against Tot, thanks to de gea who saved us cool.

Maybe it MOU effect on the team, United hasn't be playing high pressing game all week suddenly changes occurr, I just hope they adapt as soon as possible.

I'd rather have Lingard on the bench, he contributes next to nothing.

An Arsenal win was and is the best result, we are 3 points off 4th place and with Tottenham suffering from a bit of injury crises, top 3 might just be within reach.
Our next 3 EPL games is against Burnley, Leicester and Fulham, 12 points is possible.

That's true, it needs to be worked on before it becomes a norm and we drop points. Even if they couldn't press anymore, they should try and keep the ball.

Our pressing starts from the front and from our games thus far, only Rashford can sustain the energy required for high pressing for 90mins, Martial and Lingard will more or less be reduced to walking pace from 70 mins and of their replacements, only Sanchez can press as he had learnt that from Barca and Arsenal but he isn't yet 100% fit and Lukaku and Mata are not very pacy (Lukaku used to be but he isn't in peak condition)...
In midfield, we have a beast in Fred who has got all the energy but he is still adapting to the English game thus we are yet to see more of him.
I will like for the board to at least support the work Solskjaer is doing by signing 2 players (LCB & RWF) to boost our chances of a top 4 finish.

oga pressing takes energy, that's why for it to be successful, the team must score goals quickly then retain possession for the remainder of the match. But remember gen gen pressing needs high energy levels, energy levels that just Rashford, Lingard, Herrera and Shaw can maintain in this team.

I'm not saying our boys are bad, I just want us to keep working on it because when we meet a more tactical all they need is to press us more from 65min then we would definitely drop point, that game against TOT exposed us.

If you noticed when Manchester United scored against Tot, the manager and crew were very happy because they know this boys so well. Yesterday match it was
still the same.

Let blame MOU our players are not use to that kind of tactics I hope they catch up very fast

Please exclude Shaw, his a good player but fond of waiting for ball to meet him you can't do that against very fast player like mbappe and co.

Finally you understand cool cool cool
That is while they are among his first team player I can't wait for Sanchez to get back, he loves pressing both defensive and attacking

Fred is also slow he just need to work more on to fit into English Football.

What makes City and Liverpool special is their high pressing ability till the end of the match.
