Buhari vs Atiku: EU speaks on preferred presidential candidatePublished on January 22, 2019

European Union (EU) has said it has no preferred candidate or party in the forthcoming presidential election.

It made this position known on Tuesday at a press conference organised by the EU-Election Observer Mission to Nigeria (EOM) 2019 in Abuja.

Chief Observer of the Mission, Maria Arena, said the EU-EOM will only “come with a fresh pair of eyes, looking just at the election process.

“We are not interested in the outcome of the elections; we have no interest in seeing this or that candidate or party win. We are here to observe if the electoral process was conducted in a transparent and credible manner,” she said.

On the objectives the EU-EOM is seeking to achieve during the presidential election, Ms Arena clarified: “We have the mandate only to collect information concerning the electoral process and then to publish our findings and make recommendations.

“We will assess the electoral process against Nigeria’s law and international commitments in relation to Democratic elections. We are completely independent in our conclusions.”

She further said the Observer Mission is in Nigeria with a team of 11 experts in Abuja, and 40 long-term observers who have been deployed in pairs around the country to cover all states.

“We are here in the spirit of cooperation with Nigeria. We stand ready to deliver an impartial objective assessment of the electoral process,” Ms. Arena said.

She urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security forces to provide clear real-time information on what they are doing and the actions they have taken.

The Chief Observer advised the government and political parties to play their part in promoting a free, fair and peaceful process before, during, and after the election day

.Q: why are u supporting APC over PDP.?
YORUBAS: PDP did not chose VP from west APC did,

Q: is it about where he chose VP from or for goodwill of the country?
YORUBAS: PDP is corrupt.

Q: but Jonathan remains the best democratic president Nigeria ever had, he is humane and has listening ears don't u think so?
YORUBAS : Jonathan allowed people to loot he is corrupt.

Q: wow, he allowed loot, but nigeria's economy was the best across Africa and cost of living was cheaper for the masses under his tenure, even naira had more value then than now.
Yes or no ?
YORUBAS: yes... but buhari is fighting corruption.

Q: so how has his "corruption fight" helped the masses and u as an individual?, cost of living is now high, price of things tripled in the market
And what about Ganduje's $5M bribe saga,
Which buhari has done nothing about..don't u think he is corrupt too?

They know that the money stolen from Nigeria by Atiku and his gang could have totally collapsed Nigeria if not for timely intervention of PMB. They won’t want another human catastrophe that can be brought about by a thieving Atiku.

EU doesn't want to associate themselves with failure that is why they claim to take a neutral stand. A German paper said atiku a former vice president is going against the incumbent whom Nigerians term insensitive

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has said once those who looted the nation’s treasury join its fold, all their sins will be forgiven.

The national chairman of the ruling party, Adams Oshiomhole, stated this on Thursday at the presidential campaign rally held in Benin, the Edo State capital.

.......Once you join the APC, all your sins are forgiven,” the top APC official said.

Go ahead and vote the confused and lifeless one again.

4 years is not 4 months. Use your head- This man will only bring more suffering and hardship.

If brain no dey pain us, it should not be difficult voting out this current administration.

Make e shift! Give another man chance and if the new president becomes incapable, send him packing too.

Presidency is not an entitlement.

You vote this man again- Your generation no go forgive you. People are suffering dammit!

Most likely that the EU wants stability and continuity. Nigeria has always been a valuable trading partner with the EU, which would like to see that continue. They will likely settle for Buhari.
