As someone has said, there's a "Pay Now" option of Booking.com that you can use to pay for your whole hotel stay if you wish.

When you do that, ask the hotel to send you a separate confirmation of your stay and payment apart from the Booking.com standard format.

Cyberknight:

It's not too early to apply for a visa - you can do that up to 90 days before your date of travel - it is actually almost getting quite late for you to do so, as there are about 20 working days between today and your planned travel date, so you'd better expedite the process.

As for your chances, no-one can predict them as there are many factors involved in a visa grant and that's not within our purview. However, since you already have a UK visa, it is assumed you are familiar with the western countries' visa policies and requirements, so you should apply at least the same procedures and expertise you used in acquiring your UK visa to the French one.

I submitted my visa application at vfs lekki on 15th of January and got a text to pick it today but it late so going to pick it up tomorrow wish me luck guys

Please @Cyberknight I wish you good luck but you need to tell me how you work this hotel thing out am hearing they don't accept booking.com and is like this hotels most of them don't charge this cards immediately . Is it true all schengen are no longer accepting hotel reservation on booking.com. Please just tell me what to do.

You can use booking.com, hotels.com or any other platform to make a reservation with a hotel. I use the platform because and you get a wide variety of hotels to choose from, many of which do not have individual websites to book through and sometimes you get good hotels at lower prices than if you booked from their websites directly.

So I don't agree with the statement that "All Schengen countries not accepting Booking.com hotel reservations" - I used that for my two visa renewals last year and am planning to do likewise this year.

Some of them will charge you a refundable fee, usually a percentage of the total reservation amount, for doing so. Some will not.

Here's what I always do:

1. After making a reservation I call the hotel and ask them to confirm my reservation.
2. It is at that point that they will charge your card, if they want to.
3. After they have done so, I tell them to send me a separate email confirming the reservation which I print out and attach to my application.

If you're feeling flush, you can select the "Pay Now" option on Booking.com to make full payment to the hotel when making the reservation, or use hotels.com which always charges you for the reservation.

Note that the visa officers sometimes contact the hotel to verify your accommodation, so its better you select a mid-range hotel with a reception office where they have someone who can handle such queries and all that instead of a one man B&B. You can always cancel the reservation subject to the hotel's cancellation terms when you're done with the visa process.

I hope this is clear.
